Just melee him down to about 40 and he will complete heal but only twice unless you agro dain frostreaver when he runs you will get banished down the well the you'll have to fight him back through the complete heals, the way i did it was melee him until he was done complete healing and the when he hits about 20-25 % hp nuke nuke nuke until hes dead but he ran soo i simply feign death and stood back and no longer ran then he was /dead easy as idk somthing thats easy and im a 70 sk which makes it really easy doesnt hit had i would say 200 about was max hit i took ~mealin starpyre~

Would a 53ranger with maxed stats be able to take him?

went and solo'd this guy earlier today. my advice for druids looking to solo this guy is to load up on buffs. Put on your best DS and have your DoTs ready. Don't forget the regen, he doesn't hit that hard, but he hits a lot.

i started the fight with an Annul magic then landed WD, Immolation and the epic dot. I have a Tanglewood Shield and although ensare didn't stick once, i used the click over and over to keep his aggro focused on me. He never ran.

i couldn't land a Moonfire on him after trying twice, so save your mana.

he tried to CH near the end of the fight, but my stun took care of that. lucky for my faction he dropped the amulet first time.

and never forget to have egress and chloroblast up!

Attempted this guy solo as a 56 shaman. Well, I got my disease resistance debuffer on (cus its unresistable) which let me get my disease based slow on him, but my pet wasn't doing much dmg. I gated when he was about 75% cus I knew he wasn't going to go down. I had about 40% mana left and pet was taking too much dmg.

Oh yeah, since when did cleric's get bash? he was interupting me a lot with bash.

Took him out with 53 monk and 56 cleric easy as pie. We shoved him up into the corner and he never ran and never did CH either, so dropped fast. Cleric never even had to heal me. Hardest he hit me for with 1100ac was 133. Biggest nuke with 160 MR was 516. He only landed two nukes on me, other was for 400. Only dispelled one buff. Unfortunately he only dropped stupid head. Oh well, will try again later.

It took a few tries, but I found out how to solo him as a monk. I'm KoS to Dain, warmly to other Coldain at the moment. First step of course, is be a good enough monk to solo a level 49 cleric mob. Then be a little stronger ;-)

Get yourself into his room. I use a Larrikan's mask to invis myself. Attack him and stomp him down, he'll nuke, he'll heal. My first strategy was to try to interrupt his complete heals, but that just doesn't work. Eventually he'll run out of mana, and at 20% health he'll run. Feign, FAST. If you feign successfully, and before he runs too far, the rest of the throne will not aggro.

Stand up in a moment, and invis yourself again. Run out of the throne and towards Thurgadin. At some point, he'll regen enough hitpoints, or mana to heal himself, and he will not be running any more. He'll be far from the throne though, and regular Coldain do not assist him, just Dain faction mobs. Keep heading towards Thurgadin zone and he'll eventually follow. Now, smack him down again! Hopefully won't have a lot of mana left but he will probably have complete healed himself in the process. And once he runs, he won't be five steps away from the Dain and his guards =)

Edit: I've since realized there's better ways to kill him but this still works =)

The scribe is 49 every spawn and is a cleric. I'm not exactly sure what buffs this guy casts on himself, but he definitely does buff himself pre-fight now. He has alot of hps(10-12k) and extremely high magic resist. Alot of the same rules apply to this guy similar to the huntsman. Cannot slow with many spells, and magic DDs are pointless. Fire DDs were connecting on this guy easily even with him being red con.

I'd reccommend stripping his buffs with nullify magic/pumice stone at the beginning as it does seem to moderately help. The key to this guy is his DDs and complete heals. After all of my encounters, I have only seen him complete heal a max of 1 time a fight. Unlike the Huntsman, resists are needed for his Retribution and the key is to surviving through his chain of dispells/nukes and prevent him from CHing. When his mana is gone, he is easy as pie. Also, make sure you stack buffs well. There is nothing worse than symbols/haste/dmg shields being disspelled mid-fight. I couldn't imagine many classes being able to solo him, however a decent duo definitely can. Personally have killed him with 2 lvl 45s.

I believe his spawn time is around 6 hours (same spawn time as huntsman). Not absolutely positive of this, but I am sure that it is between 5-6 hour spawn time. The faction hit is fairly significant. I believe faction went from Threatening to Dubious in 6 kills and coldain faction dropped fast. Also remember, there is no +Kromzek faction which is needed for the quest. The head is a commond drop(around 80% ATLEAST). His amulet is a little more rare. I believe I normally see it 1 out of ever 3 or 4 spawns. In my experience, the Bindings of the scribe is atleast as rare as the amulet if not more so.

The scribe is in fact to the right room when facing Dane. If you are KoS, you can go to the corner of the room(Scribe's room) directly to your right when you enter the room without being aggro'd even if KoS.

Is the head common? rare? or what?

Any idea about the repop time of this guy ?
I think it is 12hours, but not sure
