Yetarr stands on the right side of the throne-room of King Tormax.

You say, 'Hail, Yetarr'

Yetarr says '______, your name has reached my ears more than a few times. Rumors fly that your kind will be the downfall of both the dragons and the Coldain.'

You say, 'What about the dragons?'

Yetarr says 'The dragons are not my primary concern, Kyenka has a greater hatred for them. I leave matters regarding to them in his capable hands. My worries are of the Coldain.'

You say, 'What about the Coldain?'

Yetarr says 'I do not fully trust the Kromrif to keep Kael Drakkel protected from the menace of the tiny savages. The Kromrif do not actively seek to kill them. If the Coldain are left to breed they will one day swarm over Kael and no number of Kromzek warriors will be able to save us.'

You say, 'What kromrif?'

Yetarr says 'The Frost giants who call Kael their home have grown far too lax. So few of them train daily and actively seek out the Coldain to slay. I have advised King Tormax to send Kromzek raiding parties to raze Thurgadin, however, each time he reminds me that our strongest warriors must stay to guard against the dragon menace. What I need is a band of mercenaries to seek out and assassinate key Coldain leaders. We must destroy their ability to make war.'

You say, 'I will assassinate.'

Yetarr says 'Perhaps assassinate is not the best word. I simply wish the death of some of the more compitent (sic) advisors of that foolish Dain. Within the halls of Icewell keep dwells a huntsman that has stood by the Dains side since he was a mere child. The court scribe is also more then he appears to be. Bring me their heads, I will reward you for each one. That is the only proof I will take of their deaths.'

The scribe is 100% Magic Resistant to all but fire spells (I think).

Turning in the head of the Royal Scribe will result in a reward of Coldain Skin Gloves.

Turning in the head of the Royal Huntsman will result in a reward of Coldain Skin Boots.

Yetarr says `The death of this one must be causing great strife amoung the Coldain. Your work is greatly appreciated. I wish I could reward you with more, but these boots are among the few things I have to give.'

You gain experience!!

Killed Kaavin today on my 70 druid. Wasp swarm landed, so did every fire nuke I tossed him. Ensnare and Savage roots never landed, but he didn't run.
He's a cleric, yet he kicks....
Faction hits for killing Kaavin were

-Dain Frostreaver IV
-Coldain
+King Tormax

For the record:
If you want to kill this guy for the gloves/boots, you need a raid force. He can drop one or the other, boots/gloves. He is always level 57, and enrages. The problem is getting to him.

You need to clear the giants, and two, to three Sentries(lvl 66), in order to get to him. The sentries are mostly 66, some are 57 to 59, but they are rare. The sentries hit for 280s, and can be killed easily. Before you get to the sentries, you need to clear the area in which the Storm giant general spawns.(if the named is up, kill him(level62ish, and drops cloak of the maelstrom).

Yetarr hits in the 450s, but is only level 57. That's right, he is lower level than the sentries, but hits harder.(still not hard for a raid force).

If you are doing this for the first time, and think it goes easy, tell your puller not to get cocky. When you try Kyenka, he gates, and basically, he is a baby Vindi. He doesn't hit as hard or fast, and is only level 57, but he summons two pet level 60 giants to his side. They follow him just like Vindi's pets, and are almost impossible to split. Just kill all three at once.

Kindly faction with Kromzek seems correct. You need dubious with Kromirf with most classes because the Gleed guy needed for the bow of the huntsman quest is right underneath the ice bridge leading to the throne room. Of course, a bard can use invis song+sneak and rogues can use hide/sneak to get past Gleed as well. The bard/chanter faction raising line of spells/songs are often helpful to get needed faction quicker also.

When you go over the bridge, hug the right wall, go through the door on the right and huge the right wall when you enter TR. Yetarr is down the steps and the firt npc on your right. Tormax faction IS NOT NEEDED. Yetarr's placeholder is a visiting noble. If you see a noble up, you may be in for quite a long wait.

/rant on
Also, if a noble is up, you'll quickly find yourself annoyed. You have to kill lvl 49 mobs for heads used in a quest, which can be completed by 2 lvl 45s. You need Kromzek faction and some need Kromirf faction if you cannot sneak past some way(kromzek for the quest giver). However, the quest giver, Yetarr, has this noble as a pher. After petitioning about the problem, I was told I should kill the noble. However, 2 problems arise. Killing him would mess up my needed faction to complete the quest. And second, a quest which should be able to be completed by 2 45s(since they can handle to mobs needed to be killed), requires you to kill a 57 mob and turns this into a lvl 50+ raid based quest. These factors, alone, ***** up the quest as the logic is irrational, the concept has not been thought through, and in the end, the quest is flawed.

I haven't actually verified this, but I think you need to be kindly.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 12 2002 at 8:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you think MR is usless you have obviously never played on a pvp server. If you can not be snared or rooted or slowed in anyway by magic you have quite an advantage over many caster classes
USELESS

Well Im glad I scrolled thru everyone crying over MR, thought I was searching info on Coldain SKin Boots...guess not. No use crying over MR who cares, sheesh
Yes, you can kill Yetarr and get the Gloves
# Jan 04 2002 at 5:44 PM Rating: Decent
My guild did it last night. If you can muster a few groups to kill Yetarr, he drops the gloves.

Fire spells do land on Yetarr. He cons red to me, a level 55 druid. A little Sundering and Sciorae does stick.

Yetarr hits very, very hard so watch your agro and let the tanks take the beating first. If Yetarr turns on a caster, that caster is dead in less than 2 seconds. I know, I have seen it with my own eyes.

Havent fought this particular guy, but I keep hearing about these 100% magic resist people. All of the ones I killed that were supposedly 100%mr werent. Including Tserrina and Ulump. Just give spells a shot once he around 50% Im sure theyll hit.
To bad I have 2 good characters i would love both the items for my druid

Resistences
# Nov 22 2001 at 11:47 AM Rating: Default
If a mob is 100% Mr it just means that spells that create a magical effect Eg. Enchanter dots, dd's debuffs etc... they wont stick that does not mean if you cast a fire/cold/poison/disease spell that it will also be resisted. And for the record the Tashan line of Enchanter spells i unresistable to any and all. At lvl 4 i Tashed mt friend who is a lvl 57 Druid with 127 Mr.
100% magic resistant
# Nov 14 2001 at 6:52 PM Rating: Default
Who cares, this is a thread about Coldain skin items, not resistance. You can kill the quest giver to get the item too, right?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2001 at 2:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) STFU about resists we get the fooking picture, I want to hear more about the quest and less about the resists and im sure others do as well.
Ok..

enough arguing...

I want info!

Where can the mobs that drop the scribes be found? What kind of group do you need? Could a lvl52 druid and a lvl60 wiz do it?
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 13 2001 at 3:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You ar all so stupid... YES of course ice will kill the stuff in LS... they are resistant (not sure 100%) to FIRE!!
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 2:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You all kill me )) I like listening to the programmers of the game. And by your posts i guess thats all of you. How did you ever get the game done arguing amongst yourselves :P ?
Tormax faction doesn't matter
# Jul 17 2001 at 4:54 PM Rating: Default
hug the wall and you can turn this in even if KoS to tormax.
as for the faction needed with Zek for turn in, i've been told dubious is enough, but I didn't want to risk losing coldain skin gloves and boots when getting Zek faction is a matter of heading to Western Wastes for a few hours.
Faction needed?
# Jul 05 2001 at 5:20 PM Rating: Default
Does anybody know for sure if dubious is good enough to do this quest? I know Yetarr will not speak to you if Kromzek is dubious, but can you just turn the Scribes head in and get the gloves? Or has this been adjusted like many other of the Kael quests so that warmly is required. Please only post if you know for sure, I am quite capable of guessing on my own....
Heads Dropable?

The quest giver is on STORM Giant faction, not Tormax, although you need at least dubious, since there are 3 mobs (including tormax himself) right by the quest giver. Also I recieved no tormax faction, but the frost giant faction increase was substancial (I'm assuming the storm giant increase is also large, but since I was already ally, I had no way to tell...)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 05 2001 at 2:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have hunted Icewell dirfs for many days. They are completely resistent except to fire. The BURN very well. In fact, they seem not resistent to fire at all. They have no brains: Concussion, Stuns, Mes, FORGET it....they won't work.
There is no such thing as a 100% resistant Mob!
# Jun 01 2001 at 2:22 PM Rating: Default
Mobs might be resistant to certain spells but *NO MOB* is 100% resistant to everything. The tashan series of spells from enchanters is *unresistable.* Meaning, from the first level Enchanters get the first spell in this line of spells, which would put them at level 4... that level 4 could go to Dreadlands and stick that spell on Gorenaire, or could go to Wakening Lands and stick it on Woushi. The Mala spell that Mages and Shamans get at level 60, is the same way. Nothing resists it. If you don't believe me parse the spdat file, under both the Tashan line and the spell Mala for mages and shamans there is a line that says "No Resistance Check."
RE: There is no such thing as a 100% resistant Mob!
# Jun 22 2001 at 10:23 AM Rating: Default
Tashani is NOT 100% unresistable. Anything that has 100% resistant to poison will not be effected by Tashani (won't stick).

You can go and test this out on some of the spiders as you first enter Vek's Lab.
RE: There is no such thing as a 100% resistant Mob!
# Jul 11 2001 at 8:36 PM Rating: Decent
Why do people that really don't know anything post here.

When it's said that something is 100% magic resistant it is meant that magic based spells will never land on it. This includes such spells as snares, roots, slows, etc. This does NOT necessarily include cold/fire/poison/disease based spells.

I'm not sure what bothers me more, this stuff or people with level 30 druids seeing something like Dain Frostreavers crown and posting "I want one of these, what drops this, can i solo it at 30?"
RE: There is no such thing as a 100% resistant Mob!

I never post anything to flame anyone but this really bothers me, peple who do not remember what is to be lvl 10 20 or 30, i bet you were as ignorant not stupid ignorant as anyone else, or you started a lvl 58 from day one? so please ppl dont bash on players that are new or newer to game.

oh by the way i dont check postings regulary for the same reason so dont bother bashin me. LOL

Not that it matters but slows are diseases that use the MR check ;) There are exceptions to everything hehe.
