Group consisting of 80 pally, 80 sk, both group-casually geared, and our merc clerics, we easily tanked it, kind of a long fight tho so healers used 1/2 their mana, with pots, etc., it probably is soloable (with merc). Only reason to do this anymore is the ring, not many other opportunities for casual players to get an item with 3% shielding. Of course, we did this five times and the ring never dropped lol.
shaman was main healer and slower, rogue took ramps (not by choice)
Dropped the ring.

Some notes to help others who want to do this quest.
My guild (Dawnfire, Nameless Server) has done this quest 4 successful times, after one defeat (2 attempts at same mob, all wipes that time).
Another guild was working him Sunday so I asked questions and confirmed some things and combined that info with what I know to tell you all this:
3-4 Clerics on our MT (13.5k HP, about 2200 AC) were able to keep him alive, and Druids/Shamans adding patch heals to him and to groups also helped make the 4 kills easy. We have killed him with as few as 20 (4 clerics), and as many as 26. The other guild (KoCF) was able to do similar with 4 successful kills on Sunday.
The Trapped Spirit is now a steady mob in the middle of the Luclin towers that are ON THE PYRAMID PLATFORM near the grass area, not the Luclin towers you can Wizzy port or Guild Lobby portal into Dreadlands. This is also the spawn point for the Furious Jailer. Anyone equipped with the Sphere will quickly get the text message from the TS to release her.
The Furious Jailer is Yellow to Level 70’s.
The Furious Jailer is an UNDEAD mob (as can be seen here on the FJ page). Our Paladins (including me) were having a field day Cleansing the mob for 6-7k per. We often out-performed the Wizards regular nukes. Given the high HP’s this mob has, bring out your Paladins and their HOLYFORGE Disc, and your Necromancers & Shadowknights to help add much needed DPS to bring the FJ down. Holyforge has a 1 hour refresh time, but you can still get Cleanses without it.
Watch your pets push as it got tricky when the FJ was pushed up onto the towers/spires.
FJ Rampages and Enrages at 9% (nine percent) health.
It is good to have clearly defined MT, 2nd tank, and a 3rd tank just in case, as well as a Rampage tank.
The length of the fight is such that you will need to chain SLOW the mob also. Make sure your slowers know their timers so as to be ready to re-hit the FJ when slow expires. I did not see any messages about Necromancers slows hitting or being effective so I am unable to speak on that. It makes sense that it should though, considering FJ is undead.
Slowable by Shaman and Enchanters both.
The fight will take Warrior Defensive Disc and more to complete. Having a Warrior MT gives you several options to get and keep agro, and to help minimize the need for healing. As a Paladin, I am not saying a Paladin couldn’t tank this, but as a team effort, having the Warrior taking the punishment and keeping aggro frees the Paladins to be very effective in the DPS department. This is not meant to start the old debate – It is meant to say what I see and think about team play on this mob.
The person turning in may very likely die quickly, unless the MT pulls agro immediately off him. We chose to do a count-down to turn in, have MT grab agro and build it up before calling assist. MT had Divine Intervention cast on him (and I saw a few times its effect was used). We had the Melees mostly fight the FJ from his SIDES to minimize push. Rogues of course stayed on the back and flanks of FJ.
Just use patience and planning, be ready for a long fight (10 mins average out of 4 kills).
Just have the melee DPS circle him once you have established rampage tank. It takes some practice, but it's not hard to keep him in the middle of the spires.
To kill him, you need to do the necklace quest, so therefore, (providing you don't forget to /taskadd a couple of people in case you die) you will get one necklace for every item drop.
When you run out of people to get the necklace and spawn the jailor, get the people who already have the necklace but don't want it to run the quest and spawn him :)
Single grouped with war, clr, shm (those 3 partially anguish/tacvi), war, dru, enc (single group gear). Very long fight, I used stonewall twice. Resisted all of the knockbacks and never saw the other spell cast. He does rampage a bunch, and it was good to have the other warrior on it. FJ dropped the earring.
Ok well i know all about the task that you have to do that involves him. Do you have to do the task to spawn this guy? or is this guy a regular mob in Dreadlands that you can come up to and just kill? Cuz am thinking of farming some of his stuff for my guild... pls send me an email cuz i will probably never look back here =D kmlckrp@yahoo.com thanks
I did this last night for my little alt wizzy we are a CoA lvl guild who semi slack on Fridays doing Epic 2 fights I asked for help against this mob. I briefed our raid 17 mainly CoA geared peeps on how hard he hits, reported 3400 and effects of his AE 4k to 6k random.
I spawned him and MT reported never getting hit over 2k majority hits around 1k and nobody was hit by his ae, he does have alot of HP so be prepared for longish fight we killed it in less than approx 10 mins
He's never used an AE since we've been fighting him (about a week). As mentioned in the other comment, he does have a single target DD, but with the low resist mod on it, we haven't had any problems with it. Highest melee attack I've seen is about 2400 (bard). No flurries, does enrages, single target rampage -- nothing special. We're still farming Time, so these are nice upgrades =)
[Edit: ~2 weeks now]
Loot distribution so far:
9 x Belt of Dimensional Imprisonment 7 x Buckler of Dimensional Imprisonment 7 x Cloak of Dimensional Imprisonment 16 x Earring of Dimensional Imprisonment 24 x Ring of Dimensional Imprisonment 7 x Rod of Dimensional Imprisonment
Yeah, no AoE, but he's hit my Necro for up to 2500 and nuked me for up to about 5.5k. Not a hugely tough mob but still a fair challenge, at least for us... but then almost everyone on our raids could upgrade a few slots with his loot.
