ANY increase damage item should go to a wizzy first a foremost considering the wizzy does MOST damage with ANY nuke type. whoever said it would only help slightly has obviously never played a wizzy. ALL lightning spells = magic as are all stun nukes. A SHAMMY isnt there to nuke a wizzy is... if i see a shammy for on this im gona $%^&& that punk out. only chars who should roll on this are necro, wiz, mage........
greedy shammys and clerics..... do what ur meant to do and that isnt do ALOT of damage
That is quite possiably the most idiotic post I have ever read on this website *and thats pretty bad*. First of all Muram's Anger does not just affect nukes but DoTs as well. You are ignoreing that part apparently. Also +2mana regen is beneficial to any caster therefore all casters have just as much right to it as you do. A shaman, cleric or any caster who wants a fair shake at this item is not the greedy one. You are for thinking you are the only one who desearves it. Pull your head out of your back side man, you will see better.
On the topic of the item, it is a random drop off trash mobs, in a fairly easy zone. Anyone trying to limit who can loot this, is the one being greedy. If someone can equip it, they have the right to go in on it.
Certainly if it is your friends, or a guild group, you might want to decide who it would benefit most, but it would be foolish to pass over an upgrade, because some stranger you may never group with again, might get more use out of it.
Magic Based damage and clerics only have magic based nukes. Why would a cleric want to nuke, hmmm. 3k+ nukes with this puppy, is that good? Well, the best time for a cleric to nuke is when the healer mob is trying to CHeal or Gate.
Actually Mages do have magic based nukes also. I am wearing Glowing Stone of Expulsion and all my magic base spells get an increase in damage. and i have quite a few magic based spells.
has anyone seen this or the uber regen pants drop off murks? Well the pants I know for sure that drop off murks... never seen the veil... PITA camp to solo even as a kiter...
Dropped last night off of an infernal chimera in WoS. Is no drop, and had 4 casters rolling. I won the role (shammy), necro questioned benefit of effect for me. I had to educate him on the fact that all shammy LDoN DoTs are magic based. Tested it out, sure enuf, get up to 25% increase per DoT tick. Increase in dps and FT 2, what's not to love.
Had this drop last night for our group. 4 casters rolled, shamy, necro, cleric, and wizard.
Now, before I tell you who won, let me stop and say that this is possibly the most critical focus effect for Necros and Shamys since it effects our ability to DOT, increases the efficiency and speed of our soloing. To nuker classes like Wizard, it helps only slightly since nearly all of your most mana efficient nukes are fire based. To a necro or shaman, this is easily on par with backstab skill bonuses to a rogue. It would be fantastic if other classes would respect this.
ROFL, everyone always says there is a "best class" for dropped stuff...get over it, if there is a class on an item that can use it, then it is just as fit for them as it is any other class. Mana regen for ANYONE that is a caster rox...the stats on this are quite nice...yeah, is nice for shammy and Nec, but hey, it's also real nice for my cleric with mana regen 2, 120 mana, the sta, the saves. I have seen some items, albeit very rare, that are best suited for a particular class that is listed in the useable by...but this, as many other items, isn't one of them by far.
The most mana efficient nuke Wizards get from droppable runes is indeed magic based. Just like PoP, from SPs (edit: ease to get). Not to mention it helps with all of their stuns.
Also the most efficient nukes wizards get overall are always Cold based, not fire. The big bang ones tend to be fire.
i was going to say exactly this, but you beat me to it. my main is a wizard, and the majority of nukes i cast are magic based and cold based. fire comes out once ina while, but not often. i magic nuke almost evey mob i encounter.
The irony of this is that Shamy and Necro have virtually identical magic-based dots. Roughly the same damage and duration, just different names for the spells. If the Necro didn't know this, he's a noob necro.
We Druid's also get a few, though not anywhere close to as many and nowhere close to as powerful, that is why I am not wearing the Glowing Stone of Expulsion I have on my mule until I know noone will buy it at a decent price (if I were not wearing Geomantic Compact Writings I would most likey put it on for the stats, but the upgrade is not much and would almost be a waste for me to wear it).
EDIT: I would, however, wear this mask atm since it would be a nice upgrade
dropped tonight on vazaelle off trash mob while hunting along the wall in Northernmost part of the zone (near Verow) ___ too bad my dice sucked as the mask went to a caster in a semi-uber guild ___ i pray to see it drop another day as i am still at FT1 and counting =/ lolz
If you ask me, it seems this item and the Blue Flame Necklace are both random drops from anything in the zone.... much like Surcoat of Tragedy and Baleful Blood Soaked Cuirass are from trash in Riwwi. Seems like they're following GoD trash drops, which I like :)
