Silver Accounts in MPG Trials

I have been trying to get my alts leveled in Resistances and have done three trials without them getting acknowledgement in AA Special tab. Am I wrong that it has nothing to do with being silver

Ok the three types of accounts now are #1 -Pay/Gold. #2 - (Grandfathered) Silver/used to pay but came back after a period of time and is now not paying and finally #3 -Free/not paying and never did. You know what you are by looking above your char at char select screen. That being said my Gold and Free accounts have gotten the AA for these trials. I have not played my silver in a while so not sure on him. IIRC I had to zone or log in/out for them to show up, just like the Hunter achievements in Feerrot don't always update until you log or zone.

I did 3 of the MPG trials with boxed toons and 2 mercs. The thing is that I was unable to loot the Shell of the Master in any of the trials. No big deal, I was only doing the trials to raise my resist caps, but one of my guild members will be needing a drop from one of the trials for their epic. I am thinking that the problem might be with the Devs changing the Classic MMs to need 3 real toons in the zone to loot the chest. This might have carried into the MPG trial instanceds.

This is a really nice lvl to grind some aa's in the early to late mid 70's if you can handle the mobs (if not a merc should be more than enough). Just work your way from the entry. The loot isn't much to write home about.

My first post ever - so I wanted it to add value to all the posts that have guided my way through EQ, courtesy of Alla, for all these years...We had successfully completed the Fear trial and promptly got the 3-Day lockout, with all the other group Trials showing a 1h40m lockout. Being bored, we made our way to the Projection of Power to try the Mastery of Destruction Trial. We weren't succesful.

But the interesting fact was that it reset ALL TIMERS for ALL TRIALS. In other words our Fear trial timer had been reset to 1h40m like every other Trial. We weren't sure if this was a bug or not, so we promptly ran back across the zone and asked for the Fear Trial, which we received, entered, and attempted.

The SK who did not attempt the Destruction Trial with us still had the original 3-day lockout on his character for Fear.

Just wanted to mention that this since it might be a way to speed up farming on the Trials for your toons. Loot received upon the succesful completion was the Facade of Fright and a Glowing Rune.

Our guild is decently equiped (better then Qvic). We had 23 in group and our raid ave was lvl 73. We had 3 healers (clr) and one sham helping. We had 2 tanks with over 15k hp and we still really didn't do well with this one. Hope this info just gives a better idea of what is necessary to handle.

For the most part, High ac, high dps, and people that listen, and it works well.

Video Crash in this zone only! HELP?

Hi there everyone,
I have played in this zone a few times. Each time I try to run to the camp, about 1/4 of the way into the zone, suddenly my screen goes black. To get it back I have to alt enter to desktop and then re-maximize EQ. *Sometimes* I die while doint this out of game due to invis wearing off or jhust because my character is walking around blindly.
I have updated my video drivers, I have deleted the zone files and re-installed them, and so far nothing has worked. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, were you able to correct it, and how?
I have 1 GB Ram and a 128K Video card. I Should also note that there is no mob near me during this crash (I mean my card is not drawing complex creatures, just walls and ground at the time)

Also Reducing far clip plane to ziltch does not solve the issue.

Yes, quite a few people have this problem. It is the same video bug that makes people crash in Anguish, at AMV's door.

Supposedly this can be fixed by adding hardwareTnL=TRUE in the eqclient.ini file.

This of course, assumes your video card can handle hardware tnl.

Also, while several people have said this fixed it for them, a few have said it has not.

I've heard some of these trash mobs are kiteable/soloable by a necro or druid.I would like to solo kite for the spellsheen prism but I'm trying to find out which of these mobs do not summon here.I hear there are a few.Any info?I haven't saw anything about this posted.Just stuff about trials.

IMHO... this is the harder of the trials. I'm sure everyone out there has their own way of accomplishing this trial, but this is the way we did it.

Group composed of Warrior, Rogue, Shammy, Cleric, Wizzy, and Shadow Knight.

The named mob can only be hit with the special bane weapons that drop from the roamers around the platform.

We had the warrior assume the tank position in front of the hamed boss. Cleric posted near the warrior on top. The remainder of the group killed the add mobs on the lower lvl around the platform. When the weapons from the adds drop tank gets the first set of weapons, then rogue. Rogue then adds DPS with the tank on top. The SK continued to offtank the adds to weapon up the rest of the melee classes.

At this point, everyone continued on the main boss. The weapons are lore, and have a clicky nuke effect. However these weapons will wear down and break as the fight continues. So you will need to reweapon as the fight goes on.

It was nice to have two healers, because it takes a little while to weapon the grp. This strat took us all of 10 minutes to finish the trial.

I have also heard you can fight the roamers and get weapons without agro'ing the boss if you stay high on the outer walls. I'm sure this would shorten the time it takes to kill the boss, but I have yet to try this.

I would love to hear any other strats out there that work. Good luck to you.

Best set-up Ive had is a Cleric,*tank*, *offtank*, melee dps, melee dps, monk/bard/rog melee to get the boss off the group so we have time to farm weapons, Offhealer *dru/shaman*

Start by having your melee that can blur the boss off him when the trial starts... Like a monk perhaps can fd... Rogue can evade and bards can fade...

Positioning<<< its important. Keep your ****'s on the wall stick to two platforms one that has a 2hander and 1 platform that has 2 1handers... Keep killing these til you feel comfertable each person will need one set to start, and another set on corpse for each person on the corpses. Around 7-8 mins of the trial set you gotta engage.

Will be rough on your cleric so make sure you have a patch healer /shaman-druid. DS doesnt work in this trial and hes pretty much immune to all forms of slow and magic spells so dont waste your time... Pets are another form of uselessness, he some how DTS them through-out the fight so dont gear em up with valuable weapons.

*forgot to add, MAIN TANK use a 2hander for less ripostes*

Best of luck in this trial ~ Sum it up:

Pets are useless
Slow won't work/land don't waste mana
Have a patch healer
Get a class that can start the trial and keep it where it stands
No Damage shields
Mages suck in this trial
Get a warrior Defensive owns =D

not all pets are.. if you have a chanter.. have them charm one of the non-permarooted adds that has Bane weapons on him, and use him to add DPS to the mix... not too much need to worry about charm breaking, as Boss will DT all pets every couple mins.. when he does.. charm another and tango on

you start trials by hailing one of the 6 projections found in mpg. follow dialog but basically it asks you if group or raid and what type of raid each projection has 2 types. you must complete all 12 types in order to gain entry into anguish. once you start expo you can zone into expo which is right behind the projection. once your all in and prepped there will be a named guy who is kos but does not attack inside talk to him he starts the expo. you must follow the instructions in order to succeed. you can not leave expo at this point doing so make a corpse of you. failure of expo also kills you. have a resser parked outside in case of wipe. expos last about 15mins. once you start a trial you may not start another one for 2 hours.

I wish this website would break down the Muramite Proving Grounds into its seperate components.

Lumping a large non-instanced zone with its instanced trials makes it harder for players to target the information in the proper perspective.

ok I have been searching and searching for info on trials in mpg and i understand that there are 6 projections each with 4 trials 2 for single group and 2 for raids. I also understand that you need to complete 12 trails 2 at each projection to gain access to anguish (really only 2 trials at each projection you can either do as raid or single group). what i have been unable to find is any info about the trials themselves other then a raid you get 3 loot drops and group gets one all time or better equipment.
I do know that we tried one off tactics projection single group subvergance trial, we enter trial there is a ramp up and comes to a round room with chests around a center platform with 3 mobs who are kos but do not attack you. 2 were level 70 and the center one was yellow to me at level 70 master something or another. you get a dialog from him to actually begin trial. we failed badly but things i did learn. leave a clreic not in trial camped outside with projection, he can not be in group nor expo. this is because if you try and leave expo you get death touched. In fact the room with the chests and platform if you try and leave that it gives you warning that you are in violation of rules of trial and will be destroyed. so once you start trial do not leave the chest room. the floor is a different color red orange as compared to blue/black.
The trial also said that goal was not to attack anything but to make friends and aviod being seen and only to engage them with weapons as a last resort. our tank at time did not understand this and engaged the pratrol we were suppose to aviod and cleric stepped out of room and got DT wiping party in under 2 mins. This is as far as we made it. no clue if he saw inv or must be charmed and such. You get about 3 warnings before you are DT by the way which was about 2 tics maybe 3 but could of gone longer. So anyone got info or a link to more info any help would be most thankful.

See invis mobs

I know a lot of people come here for a little recon before they hit a new zone. There is one mob in WOS that I know does see through invis (although most don't) and that mob is the Shadow Hunter. Its a rather large mob and is kind of hard to see. I know he can see through sneak/hide, SOS, and invis. The main reason that I bring this up is that he likes to patrol the area near the castle structure in WOS on the way to this zone. He has a medium agro range and made a really nasty third add for us the other night while taking down a named.

Towards the north side of WoS are some see invis ukuns and kyvs...found that out when I decided to go "exploring" adn ran right into them >.<

On the PG side of the WoS wall is another see-invis see-SoS mob, the Discordling Warfiend. Not quite so bad as SH (can be taken with one group) but will still mangle you if you're running solo.
Shadowhunter also sees through shroud of stealth.

As you zone into Wall of slaughter, you need invis up to get past the mobs in the tunnel. once out in the open you will see a castle structure. pass through the castle and then head North East. you need to click on a door at the end of a short passage to get in. i'll post the loc next time im there.

Yes there is a named mob- Hulcror. He cannot see through invis though so just run under or around him!

If I am not mistaken, there was named mob sitting in front of entrance last time I passed by...but then again it could been another enatrance...

but according to dmilburn 'you zone in from Bloodfields'
Anyone could tell me which one is correct please? and LOC of entrance would be nice (been lookg for it but couldn't find it)

This is a regular zone off Walls of slaughter. Most mobs dont see invis. some nice drops from named mobs. There are also a number of instanced trails for single groups (6) or a raid force of upto 54 toons. In the heart of the zone is another zone(Riftseekers) locked to toons 68 and below.
