Lost Dungeons of NorrathOK, this one is not as bad as I thought. Use a tracker, it's the only way... I tried it for a bit by cleaning up the zone and it was tedious and the ghoul only spawned about 3 times in a couple hours. So I decided to try to find PHer. There is a definite PHer and the spawn timer is 40 seconds. Here is the method.
Go into the desert area north and east of wizzie spires. Put up tracking to normal and auto refresh. If the Ghoul of Takish-Hiz is not up, slay everything until it is. After it pops, give the zone a few minutes to settle down and respawn the mobs that you have killed. Then track and kill the Ghoul, and set timer. When something shows at top of track again after 40 secs, kill it again. Rinse and repeat. When you get agro from mobs, just wait until PHer has popped, so you know what it is, then kill mobs, give a bit for them to respawn, and kill PHer and watch timer again.
When I did this, here are the spawns I got and how long it took to get the anchor.
12 * Ghoul of Takish-Hiz
2 * desert madman
1 * sand scarab
2 * a zombie
1 * dry bones skeleton
1 * a dune tarantula

I too have been wondering if the anchor still drops since the zone revamps, have killed the Ghoul probably around 20 times and it hasn't dropped; logged in this afternoon, there were two Ghouls up, I killed the first one and there was the anchor! My necro was happy. Killed the other Ghoul and nada, but then the Ghoul repopped almost instantly, killed that third one, and he also dropped the anchor, so my beastlord was happy too!

Does this mob still drop the piece?
I've killed him 236 times now and nothing... all since the merger of the Oasis and South Ro.
Can someone confirm if it is still dropping becasue it isn't on Quellious.

Me and friend were running up and down the beach in oasis killing what ever we seen trying to get lockjaw to pop and i seen him took him out just to see if i could lotta fun easy to kill and it was durring the day good luck all

I've been camping this mob for over a week now. Got him to spawn 3 times so far, but has not dropped the Spiritual Anchor, getting quite frustrated as this is the last piece I need for the Tunic of the Oracle. Can anyone give up any hints on how to get this guy to spawn faster? Lol, when they say rare spawn, they mean it.
Y dont you have the tunic already? this is the last piece I need as well and I have had the oracle robe for a long while. once you turn in the last book you take the token and the velious quested bp to the a diff guy in the same zone (dont remeber the name) turn them in and you get the tunic or robe

Well. just happened to be farming SRo for spider silks / terrorantula silks (gasp! an erudite cultural tailor on TP!)..
nighttime gametime.. spawned him twice in one night.. 2nd one had the anchor.
nobody else in zone. not running the quest myself even (yet), but looted anyways. gather he's a bit of a bugger ;D

Well, I tried getting this guy to spawn in SRo - speant 8 hours thier no pop. Went to Oasis and was able to pop him 8 times. On the 7th time he dropped the anchor - the 8th did not have it. Anyway it appears that the Ghoul's only PH are the undead mobs, and he does not appear to have a static spawn point. I was also only able to get him to spawn in the evening hours - 6pm - 6am game time, but thier may be a chance of him spawning during the day time. Best suggestion I have is to kill evey undead mob - no reason to kill the others unless you are bored.

anchor seems to be a rare drop, i got one on my first kill, but failed combine at 189 smith and have killed him 12 times since and still no anchor

Camped Ghoul of Takish-Hiz for a massive amount of hours. Enough to spawn it 21 times without the drop of the Anchor. This 21 times included 2 times in Oasis and 19 times in South Ro.
I've never had anyone have this much problem, so please don't take my luck as how rare this is.
It's just ME.
It got to the point where I was camping all my alts in South Ro to get rings from the AC to get Jboots for them. And now even the rings are beginning to rot, especially since many now have Fabled JBoots. :)

Oh finally got the Anchor on the 25th kill.
I camped the Ghoul of Takish-Hiz for about a week ... spending anywhere from 4 - 6 hours per camp session. The named spawned in Oasis ... did not drop Anchor. Then got the named to spawn in SRo ... did not drop Anchor.
I decided to NRo LDoN for a change, popped in Oasis and the Ghoul was up ... two nukes later I have the Spiritual Anchor.
Now to raise smithing to at least 230 ... I'd *hate* to have to camp for this item all over again b/c I failed the combine. (lol)

ive killed him 6 times in sro and 1 in oasis i thought he only spawned at day time in sro but prove it wrong when he poped right before my eyes in sro at night. Not sure of PHs yet so i just AE the whole zone constantly. No anchor. all of them were Ghoul of Takish-Hiz.

Double-checked today. Ghoul of Takish-Iz spawns in Oasis. He doesn't drop an Anchor. Ghoul of Takish-Hiz, however, I also spotted in Oasis and South Ro. Personal confirmation, have pictures of em both. =) Hiz drops the anchor.

Sorry, name is correct. Killed him 2x and submitted the item and Mob.
