Anyone seen this guy since revamp?

I just killed this guy in Oasis today. He seems to be on the spider/ SG cycle.

The spawn rate for this Ghoul in South Ro has gone up substantially in the last month (Oct 2005). I spent several full EQ days and nights there before the change and I saw him once. These last couple of days I have seen him between two and five times in an EQ night (about 7pm-4am). I killed him maybe a dozen times before I got a spiritual anchor. This is a positive change, as I think he was too rare considering the reward for the quest.

Killed him seven times now still no anchor. Allso killed AC three time and the big spider seven. Got a little over 15 stack for tarantula silk. Ok now ya get the idea how bad this camp is? Why doesnt this guy drop anything :( after caping him for this long you know what a let down it is to see he has nothing. Good job EQ. At least if I had to collect 20 items off him I could see some progress. Who know how many times I will have to kill him. How many more hours 1? 100? 1000? Years?

If your going to do this quest dont even start unill you have this part.

2 spawns today in a few hours... 2nd one had the anchor. Rough camp :(

Camped ALL of the north part of Oasis for 4 hours this morning...got him to spawn 3 times...lucky for me I can sense dead so the roaming aspect dont bug me as much...this is the 3rd 4 hour stretch I have camped the area...combined spawning him at least 10 times...still no Spiritual Anchor..
It bad enough that he is a pain in the butt to spawn...but to make the quest item a rare drop....reminds me why I take month at a time Breaks from EQ....sigh

Well After a long and Hard 6hrs Camp of mass killing everything and not one spawn. I went to POK and offered 50kp to get loot rights. with in 10 mins i had atleast 4 people in SRO and another 4 in Oasis. about 2 hrs later it died off and most left. Went back to PoK OOCed again. got about 6 peaople to start and with in 30 mins pop and killed in Oasis with no Anchor. then soon as i looted that empty corpse. POP again killed it myself Looted Anchor YAY. hit track on emore time and POP again i was like no way is this hapening. Killed it and ill be damned another Anchor. Logged on Friends Necro got him there in time to loot ( only 6 min corpse).

The Raw Data. was killing at night. killing every mob in the desert side of oasis towards NRO. the last 2 spawns that dropped the anchor where in damn near same location (p2071 p375). At no time where there 2 of him on track. it was back to back spawning, Instant. i checked gmae time and it was 4AM.

Good luck to all trying him it is a tuff spawn to get But with a lil luck and some plat it can be faster. IM off to get my Clicky FT2.Regen 2 now

to get the ghoul of takish to pop you have to start this at 4:20am . kill 2 spiders, run to tower kill a zombie loot zombie skin take to venders in desert area sell to them take cash run it to Ocullus, he will take it and give you a orc skin condom, it should be about 4:40am , run back to tower ghoul of takish should be there , equip orc skin condom and proceed to skull fuk a ghoul of takish..... some peeps kill me with all these theories , all i can see is this guy pops when he wants how he wants whenever he wants.

I have been camping this guy for almost 5 days and he still has not spawned. Killed everything at everytime of the day. Even managed to spawn Ancient, but not this guy. What gives?

Got my anchor a few days ago... so not broken just a pain in the ass... i just offered 50k to the first person to find me one... 11 hrs later i had my anchor.

some speculation is true, some is false... . this mob CAN and WILL spawn during the day. it also can spawn back to back almost instantly or it can go for a span of many many hours without a pop ...

Ok, been camping this guy for a few hours every day for a week now.
Usually you would expect at least some pops of the ghoul, but i havent seen one yet. What am i doing wrong?

Ive been hunting only at night(7pm-5am ish), since undead pops then. I have been killing undead such as zombies and ghouls to try to spawn the named. I have seen Gargantula and Scrounge only so far, but not one Ghoul of Takish-Hiz. Talk bout bad luck.

I hope this spawn aint broken. any help plz!

1. First the hunting technique (for South Ro. I suppose it must be the same for Nro and Oasis but I only hunt in South Ro) :

Wait for the night. No need to kill during the day, as this mob will NOT spawn in the day. If you see him up during the day, it means he hasnt been killed yet but .. believe me .. spawned in the night.
I have never known exactly when does day begin and ends on EQ. I figured out that it begings at 7am (almost sure) and ends at 7pm (to be verified), game time.

During the night, you will see 2 types of mob spawn, that doesnt spawn during day : "a ghoul" and "a zombie". The other undeads (crypt mummies, dry bones skeletons etc) also spawn during the night so I am willign to believe they have nothing to do.

Kill ghouls and zombies, and you will spawn the Ghoul of Takish-Hiz. I have managed to get him 3 times that way.

2. /rant on : C'MON SOE why are you inflicting this to us ???!? I understand you want to make hard quests for cool items like the Phylactery. But considering you must have at least 200 in every skill to have a safe chance of not failing the combines, WHY doesn't the Ghoul drop the Anchor every time ?? Especially considering you can FAIL the combine !!
Stone Spider dropped the Stone Silk 50% of the time or so, Phase Spiders same drop rate, I have finished all those steps but have been stuck on the Anchor thingie for quite a few days now and I am FED UP with it !
STOP MAKING stupid drop rates like this, for tradeskill combiens that can FAIL. "kkthx" like they say.

While looking for sand giants on Xegony, my 48 wood-elf bard saw this mob on track. He was dark bkue and I figured the exp would be ok. An easy chant kite, he never hit me once, perhaps I was lucky.
He did drop a raw-hide gorget and when I use the identify song I showed as a lore item, though the image did not indicate this.
Might this be some quest-y item?

It spwans in both Oasis and Sro. I camped it on and off for 2 weeks from 2hrs to 7 hrs. I have total killed it more then 20 times and did not drop the Anchor. At this point I start to doubt if it is broken at this time.

He spawns in s ro. I get him all the time when I'm trying to spawn the AC for the j boots quest. Basically he is a trigered spawn. After 6pm game time kill the undead mob in the sunken undead tower. Then go on a killing spree untill 5am in the morning. Kill all the mobs on the desert side of s ro. The Ghoul or one of the other named( Ancient Cyclops, Scrounge, a jackel, Erg Bluntbruiser, Tarantula, Sandgiant Husan or a few others)should spawn. With this method I have spawned him and the other named in Sro soooo many times.

Killed the Ghoul 3 times in about 2 hours in Oasis, he dropped the Spiritual anchor the 3rd time. I just went back and forth from docks to the Orc temple killing all ghouls and found him all three times.

Ive been looking for him for hours in both Ro and The Oasis, Killing everything that I see in zone. Had a druid traking the entire time too and he's a no show, anyone have any idea if he still spawns or what the best way to get him to would be?

Anyone have ANY information at all about Spawn timers, PH's, spawn rate? Been after him for 2 days and only seen him once and he didn't drop the anchor. Any help would be appreciated.

Ran into this guy twice in Oasis.

I'm a lvl 45 Druid on Innoruk and this guy cons Dark Blue to me. So his level range is in the low 40s. Probably, always lvl 40. He is immune to Snare line and Root line. "Target is immune to movement spells and effects" He runs slow like most undead, so if you have Sow on you don't really need to slow his movement. BUT, he casts Thunderstrike and other chain cast burnspells. hit me 4 times for over 150 each in like 10 seconds. If you run out of spell range he makes like the Undead Cyclops and decides to go away...until you get back in range. And his regen while out of range is amazing...so DOT is VERY difficult. This guy is all about melee and spell interruption.

I was real bored one day, waiting for my friends to log in, so I thought I'd try to pop Terrorantula or Ancient Cyclops here. (Got Terrorantula at last, but that not the point =)...)
Anyways, he popped. He was blue at 53, being lvl 50 him/herself. I thought that what the hell, and pulled him. Told pet to attack, and slowed him. He had lots of hps, but he hits like a kittycat with no paws. I barely had to heal my pet at all, and even most greens are tougher to fight with than he was. Just that I got like 7 mummies and skeletons to chase me there, so I started running around asking ppl to kill them. All of the sudden I see that Ghoul was no longer my target, and pet was killing the skellys and stuff on me. I was puzzled. No exp message. No faction messages. I roamed thru the zone like 15mins trying to find corpse, but nope. Maybe some NPC got him by my massive luck. Sucked.
Glad I killed Terrorantula at least. =(
