thunder has a 0.00 second stun. what this amounts to is a spell interupt. you get the efficiency of a drought the interupt of a stun and the agro (hate) of a stun. that is the point of wizards to have a nuke for every occasion. these give you the option to take less hate or the chance for interupt. each will have its own occasion to be used.

I think that the reason for the two different spells is the Thunder has a Stun component and Lightning does not.
I don't know about you, but I have noticed that when ever a spell has a stun in it somewhere I tend to be a lot higher on the mobs hate list.
Using Draught of Flame I can nuke away and have no problem. I switch to Jiva and 2 casts later the mob is after me.

This lists draught of thunder and draught of lightning as both being level 63 and both doing 950 damage.... so if you get the one from POP turn-in..... what's the point of getting the other ?
