    This group mission is part of a series and begins with Flora Venloe (click for map image) in Katta Castrum. She is located northwest of the port-in area at about /loc 650, 650, -25.

    Pre-requisites for Requesting:
    - Completed "Evidence of Unity" (Flora's first mission)
    - Completed "Sea Serpents" (Flora's second mission)

    At the end of the previous mission, you saw:

    Flora Venloe says, "So Rhzaz`Kataka's lieutenants are dead and the two kedge contacts have been killed. Well done! Perhaps now it is time to attack Xao Aulin [directly].

    You say, 'How do we attack him directly?'

    Flora Venloe says 'Now that you've severed the link between the shissar and the kedge, it's time to take on the kedge before they become even more bold and do more damage to the habitat. One kedge in particular, Xao Aulin, has been inciting the sea itself to attack our agents. We fear if he is planning to destroy the habitat entirely and let the sea claim it. Should this happen it could will cause cataclysmic damage to the rest of the city, perhaps destroying it entirely. Xao Aulin can not be allowed to live! You must enter Thalassius and destroy him before he can do any more damage!'

    You have been assigned the task 'The Hydromancer'.

    Flora Venloe has asked you to enter Thalassius and destroy Xau Aulin the hydromancer before can do any more damage to the habitat, he commands the very power of the sea itself.



    Find your way into Thalassius 0/1 (Katta Castrum)

    This takes place in an instanced version of Thalassius. Enter via the northeastern-most portal in Katta Castrum's southeastern quadrant.







    Kill Xao Aulin 0/1 (Thalassius)

    Xao can be found on the upper floor of the tower in the far southern part of the underground complex.

    Xao Aulin is tethered to the room in which he's found. If he leashes, he resets and regains all health.

    The Hydromancer, Xao Aulin, hits for a max ~2,200; flurries; has ~650,000 hitpoints; and is stunnable but immune to mez. Every two minutes, he spawns a wave of four adds:

    - 1x "a darkwater clawfiend" (max hit ~2,000; has ~240,000 hitpoints; unmezzable; stunnable; casts "Clawfiend Crush")
    - 1x "a raging sea dervish" (mezzable; has average hitpoints; casts "Aquavortex")
    - 2x "a sea mephit" (mezzable; has relatively low hitpoints, casts "Hydrobolt")

    Clawfiend Crush: Single Target, Magic (-350)
    1: Decrease HP when cast by 500
    2: Decrease Movement by 50%

    Aquavortex: Single Target, Magic (-350)
    1: Decrease HP when cast by 500
    2: SpinStun

    Hydrobolt: Single Target, Cold (-400)
    1: Decrease Hitpoints by 750

    Xao Aulin flails its arms and moves forward to attack!

    a darkwater clawfiend gurgles an incomprehensible warcry as it rushes towards you.
    a sea mephit rushes towards you and says, 'Prepare to die, air breather!'
    a raging sea dervish gnashes its teeth as it suddenly attacks!

    Xao Aulin has been slain by _____!
    Xao Aulin's corpse stumbles backward before crumpling into a heap of fluids.

    If you do the quest as repeat in the same day you get 150 orux. theres a 20 min lock out on it so can do all three and repeat for 150 orux each time.

    I'd say it's almost impossible to do at 75 with no chanter. Tried to DPS this guy down with two warriors, bard, necro, and shaman with 1 cleric merc. Full blast damage and got him down to 55% before everyone started falling.

    Didn't finish fight but seems like the crab is the only real mob. All other mobs had like 5,000 hp's or less so maybe it can be done without a chanter at level 75. I'm not trying anymore since the reward is not even worth the effort (50 orux). Moving on.

    Orum rewards are dependant on how popular the mission is on your server, and apparently, this mission is very unpopular if it's giving you 150, the maximum amount.

    3 adds, a sea mephit, a darkwater clawfiend and a raging sea dervish.
    All adds where rootable but they pop around the named.

    On each of these missions you get BOTH faction and orux. there are no choice either or.

    He was in the third floor of the tower-thing all the way at the south end of the tunnels. He has way to much hp to trio this mission (Tried it with a monk/shaman/ench). We would've had 5 add waves up by the time he died so need to bring more dps. The regura(crablike) adds aren't mezzable but they are rootable.

    The best thing to do is just stack up dps and burn it down. Makes sure your casters hide in the corner where you pin him behind your melees and just unload everything you have. Beat him with a monk, sham, bard, beastlord, and 2 wizzies.

    Overall, the mission is a bit too long and the named is too hard for the reward, which doesn't seem to move up in value like other missions. Nobody on my server that I talked to has heard of this mission and it gave me 50 orux just like the other 2 in the arc. The first mission is a decent combo of xp and orux/faction though. I usually trio it with my monk/sham and add a third dps.

    For any mission in this zone, its generally easier to plow ahead into each room rather than trying to pull mobs between rooms, since the pathing is so bad. You can usually break into each room with 1 add max if you're careful.

    No loot off the named. Our 75 Monk (moderate gear and around 900 AAs) tanked the mob like it was nothing. Burnt him down in about half a minute.

    You are full of it. 82 mage and 84 necro and we used everything we had and it took long enough to get about 3 waves of mobs. We killed him but both merc clerics were out of mana and still had allot of wave mobs to kill. Mage died but of course the necro lived. Essentially doable but no walk in the park.
