Barrenzin may be found in the evil section of the Plane of Knowledge (/loc?).

You say, 'Hail, Barrenzin'

Barrenzin says 'Greetings, ______,' Barrenzin smiles as he hands you a glass of wine. 'Thank you for coming on such short notice. Please make yourself comfortable and then we can discuss [business].'

You say, 'What business?'

Barrenzin says 'A Iksar that gets right to point,' Barrenzin smiles again. 'Such a refreshing change of pace from the pandering rabble I normally deal with. Allow me to be blunt then. I recently lost several, let's say, 'associates' of mine and I'm a little understaffed at the moment. I've been following your adventuring career since Gloomingdeep and I think you could go far in my [organization]. What say you? [Interested] in making a name for yourself? Or perhaps you have a [group] assembled that's looking for a little coin?'

You say, 'What group?'

Barrenzin says 'Yes these particular matters require the attention of a small group. . .say at least three dedicated souls.'

You have been assigned the task 'Below the Field of Bone'.

The Field of Bone: Hail Karunku Trogue in the Field of Bone
Kurn's Tower: (Optional) Kill the Burynai Necromancers
Kurn's Tower: Kill the Burynai Rock Seer
Kurn's Tower: Recover the Seer's Etched Stone
Plane of Knowledge: Deliver the Stone Totem to Barrenzin

Find Karunku Trogue in the Field of Bone at -900, +1175.

You say, 'Hail, Karunku Trogue'

Karunku Trogue says 'About time! I was wondering when Barrenzin would send reinforcements. My swamp skin wuz getting' all sun-burn-ned waitin' out 'ere. C'mon, get ready to follow me into da Kurn and stay close. Word among de iksar is dat da Rock Seer can listen through stone itself.'

Your task 'Below the Field of Bone' has been updated.
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Kurn's Tower.

You say, 'Hail, Karunku Trogue'

Karunku Trogue says 'Alright, _______, you da boss. Lead out!'

Karunku Trogue will now follow you around the tower.

Scattered around are NPCs called "a captured caravan guard." There is one lying on the first floor, an iksar female, who tells you to slay the necromancers. The rest are dark elves down in the caverns. I found three who joined me as pets and two who refused and instead cast random buffs on Karunku and myself. Although all three scowled at my iksar shadowknight, none attacked.

You say, 'Hail, a captured caravan guard'

The iksar writhes in pain. 'Gaaa! The burynai broke my kneecaps for attempting to escape! Kill them!... Errrgh!... But, first slay the burynai necromancers upstairs. They control the undead creations that wander this accursed tower. With their deaths, the skeletons they created will fall. The other caravan guards are in the mines below!... Aaaggghhh!... They will help you! Avenge me!'

Pet guards say the following:

You say, 'Hail, a captured caravan guard'

The caravan guard smiles as you approach. 'Ha ha! Never thought I'd be so glad to see someone sent by Barrenzin himself. Let's gut these burynai one at a time!'

Buffer guards say the following:

You say, 'Hail, a captured caravan guard'

A captured caravan guard says 'I'm done working for Barrenzin! If you want to fight these badger creatures, go ahead, but I'm sneaking out in the confusion. Here this spell might just save your fool neck!'

They cast a random buff on you or Karunku.

Optional step: kill the Burynai Necromancers. These are casters on the upper floors who are not on Burynai Legion faction. They /con indifferent, do not roam, drop no loot, and give no faction hits when killed. Although they are necromancers they have no pets. This part of the task did not even show up in my window until I had completed it so the exact number of kills necessary is unknown. When this step is completed you see the following emote:

A great clatter sounds throughout the tower as the Burynai skeletal constructs fall to the floor. The Burynai Rock Seer yells, 'The intruders have destroyed our skeletal army! All soldiers, fall back to the lowest level!'

Your task 'Below the Field of Bone' has been updated.

Find The Rock Seer under the tower.

Your Location is 155.95, -171.81, -101.90

Kill The Rock Seer.

You have slain The Rock Seer!

--You have looted a Etched Stone Totem.--

Your task 'Below the Field of Bone' has been updated.

Take this back to Barrenzin.

Your task 'Below the Field of Bone' has been updated.

Depending on your race, you will immediately receive one of the following tasks:

You have been assigned the task 'Journey to Cabilis'.

--OR--

You have been assigned the task 'Journey to Halas'.

--OR--

You have been assigned the task 'Journey to Oggok'.

Barrenzin smiles as you hand him the stone totem. 'Well done, my friend! Well done! Looks like you'll be my first contact from here on out. Keep playing your cards right and soon we'll be running the black market here side by side. Rest up and let me know when you're [interested] in more work.'

You receive a Note About Your Fifth Trial.

Need information about other race-specific tasks assigned.

If you get the reward "Note About Your Fifth Trial" then the reward is right.

Getting the weapon is a different quest altogether, dumbass.

Since you've decided to be a jerk I'll put it to you this way. READ THE DAMN TITLE! It says "Below the Field of Bone - Status: Incomplete" If you bothered to pay attention to your "Task Window" IN THE GAME you would see that the final step is to "turn in the Note About Your Fifth Trial" to your guildmaster. The last part of the quest above doesn't have that little fact listed because it is what? That's right. INCOMPLETE!

The Reward for COMPLETING this quest is like I said before:
Human Shadow Knight - Dismal Rage Long Sword
Wood Elf Druid - Scimitar of the Leafrunner
Wood Elf Ranger - Faydark Champions Long Sword
Vah Shir Rogue - Taruun Scout Blade

Before you decide to trash someone here please read what's been written thoroughly. It could save lots of BS for everyone that actually come here to find information on the game.

This task is soloable, even though it says its group. I took my 22 necro in, IVU past the initial skellys than Invis passed the furbies in the basement. When to the area that is normaly the zone out when you drop to the sub-basement and there was the rock seer. pulled and finished off easily (and dinged 23 off his death). Have not been able to get the other two tasks to work, so no word on the soloabiltiy of those.

I just finished this quest myself 24 Shadow Knight. Me and a Ranger friend of mine Duo'ed the place however Like Torgon said there is no way out. Went to the one out past The Rock Seer and couldn't click on the wall. Had to petition a GM who inturn had me log out go to the stuck character chat room and tell the GM there to port me and my friend out. So as far as I can tell this Quest is bugged. Got a pretty cool sword tho. Stats are below.

Bone Hilted Long Sword
Magic,Lore,No Drop
1HS ATT: 12 Delay: 33

Str: +5 Dex: +3 Agi: +3 HP: +10 Mana: +5
SVF: +5 SVM: +5
Reccomended Level 10
Wieght 1.0 Size: Medium
Class: WAR PAL RNG SHD BRD ROG

Hope this helps you decide if you want to do it or not.

So I managed to complete this 2-boxing a 16 shammy and a 21 necro....but I didn't know how to get out once I killed the seer. Luckily both my toons were gating class, so I just gated out....but what if they weren't. Is there some simple way to get out of an instanced zone I'm missing. The zone line from the mines would not work.

As long as you have one gating class in your group, have them do the PoK turn in, and then drop task, once it is complete.

You'll be booted from the zone a couple minutes after you drop task.

Excellent quest...I completed it with a small group last night. A couple of notes:
1. The normal zone out of the lowest level...the one to Field of Bone...was inactive for us. We had to gate out after getting the totem.
2. We didn't kill any necromancers and just moved down into the basement immediately...largely skipped killing skellys
3. Level 10 is too low for this quest imho...especially given that newbies doing this quest don't often yet have good group skills. We had a lvl 17 necro, lvl 21 bard and lvl 15 mage...and it was tough. Both the mage and bard died and had trouble getting back to their corpses.
4. The necro's skelly pet was bugged and didn't follow commands. This seemed to be because the necro was the group leader and Karunku Trogue became his pet. I recommend you make someone else that doesn't normally fight with a pet as the group leader.

Cheers--Vahlen on Stromm
