Okay, I realize that I'm responding to your question YEARS after you asked it, but to put some perspective on how difficult this guy is ...

I can solo him using a high end healer mercenary to heal my level 85 rogue. More about the rogue:

2800ish AAs
Raid level Crystalos geared
over 30K hp unbuffed
etc ...

If you couldn't kill him with 30k HPs unbuffed in addition to a healer merc, I'd be sad.

I think that people are overestimatnig this guy a little. Read the Post by Nixoh under the boots that drop off this guy. The reason this guy is tough isn't because he's on par with other God's, but because of the strategy involved in the fight. Sure Time levels guilds have wiped on him on THE FIRST TRY...but I'm willing to bet a large sum of money that it was due to them going at him thinking he's a gimp, and learning otherwise, and then going at him a second time with a strategy and killing him with a little more ease. I think that this guy is probably possible to kill with a sub-time, well equip'd guild and would put him on par with EP mini's or even earlier mobs like SolRo or the Zeks.

So does no one ever kill just for the challenge or is everyone all about the greed and how it can benifit them. I want to kill just for the pure challenge of it and would be more than happy to not get anything from the fight.

This RvR is not good at all. Anybody capable of taking BB down can most likely get
Ifir, Dagger of Fire
which is much better (18 19) from a level 75
Dagger of Distraction which is also better (18 20) from a level 65

Edited for responce to Fargh:

If you had the level and/or guild capability to kill the new Bristlebane your guild would be in elementals and possibly plane of time. Clan Ta'Veren is time enabled and failed BB on the first try. The old BB was done by 2 people before, the new one only allows 35, (gives you a clue that he is a LITTLE bit harder) he banishes anyone over that. He hits for 1800-1900s and he has a DoT for 200 a tick which also decreases agro modifier by 99%, meaning lots of people dieing due to tank loosing agro.

It is much more difficult to get flagged for elemental planes than it is to enter Plane of Mischief and kill Bristlebane.

Go kill Bristlebane and then say that again, silly little troll

To update, the Dagger of Distraction is actually 21/20, if you include the cold damage mod. My friend who uses it tells me it hits almost all the time, unless in Plane of Water per say.

I have a rogue, and hateSmiley: mad can be the diffrence between death and life. The Proc of this weapon is dd, stun, and a decrease of hate, let alone an awesome weapon.

Dagger of Distraction which is also better (18 20) from a level 65

This item is amazing, but its proc is a lesser hate decrease. It also lacks the dd and stun of TriXimSmiley: jester.

I also must say, the TriXimSmiley: jester is the dagger of the king of mischief. It is the ultamate dagger for rogue roleplay.

Why are you comparing a potime dagger with a sub ep one? Btw i don't see whats so hard about BB, his aes look super easy to resist(one word:bards),and unless he spawns adds or something none of you have any reason to be complaining heh.

Because bristlebane is really hard, on par with alot of PoTime fights

BB is easier then a elemental plane god. His loot is on RvR with those who would bother to kill him.

I totally disagree with your post. The Ifir, Dagger of Fire is from elemental planes. The second dagger, the Daggger of Distraction, is from Plane of Time.
It is much more difficult to get flagged for elemental planes than it is to enter Plane of Mischief and kill Bristlebane.
Heck, settle for the gargolye talon from BoT until you get to elemental planes. Fewer stats, 4 more delay and no proc, but it is way easier to obtain and the bs modifier is 15%. If the mob is up, it will take a simple raid of 35+ people over level 62. You can pull mob to tower zone in even. The whole raid takes about 30 minutes. Further, the mob that drops this is a three hour spawn. Now compare this with getting to and killing bristlebane.

my english is not the best.

I don't get what your implying here. If your saying BB is easier then a BoT tower raid then your wa off.

he hits for 1800 (initially... in mid fight he can use an ability to hit for 1900's)

can flurry

banishes random people to misty thicket

and has a lot of strange abilities he uses mid fight.

now, if your saying BB is a lot easier then elementals (then I dont get the bot reference) you still might be off. fomr what I've read he's on par with VT or elementals now.

for first hand info see and read the forums.

Actually, the way I read it is that BB is somewhere between the difficulty of Elemental/time and that Tower mob, and that since the reward is between that it's right on par with Risk vs reward.

The guild that submitted the item Clan Ta'Veren either had better or didn't want to be rewarded it as they could get rewarded better. Check out the website

they really redid this zone. i have read the old posts on the PoM board many times and also the loot tables. i saw nothing on the loot until they redid this. Bristlebane used to drop barely anything. glad that they moved him up lootwise=).

With this kind of reward, the risk NEEDS to be hellacious.
