Quick Question
# Jun 21 2008 at 6:30 AM Rating: Decent
I am completely new to bards, and was curious about how this spell works.

After I target and cast(or sing, whatever) do i have to keep that specific mob targeted to keep him mezzed or can i move on and mez another?

This song can be purchased in the Bard Guild in North Freeport from Serilia Whistlewind. Hope this helps.

I read on EQDiva that this was an AE song. LOL! That must have been some time ago... Never works on more than one mob at a time with me.

Is this a former AE song?

Here's the REAL story of the former AE mez...

In beta it was super overpowered. It could lock down an entire zone. This caused all bard mez songs to have a second resist check added. Essentially, the song could land but not affect the creature. This led to the supremacy of Enchanters in crowd controlling (and monks in pulling, as a bard's only tool for controlling a lull failure was removed).

Bards complained bitterly about this state of affairs, while Verant denied there was any problem. This came to a head in a famous (among bards at least) episode where a dev came to watch a demonstration in the Qeynos newbie yard as a high level bard attempted to mez the level 1 snakes, only to have a near 100% resist rate.

Eventually the second resist check was removed, and this song changed to single target.

This use to be an AE back around with Luclin came out. Shortly after it was changed to a single target mez, probably because the AE version got alot of resists.

I started a Wood Elf Bard with all points and gear towards Charisma. I got maybe 1 or 2 resist on this song when it was AE. When luclin came out, I recreated my bard as a Vah Shir with all points and gear towards Dex. I had so many resist with that song I stopped memming it. But with high charisma, this song was perfect! I was very upset when they made it targetable. I would like them to keep all the single target ones, but make this one back to AE. I have high charisma now, due to I hate missing notes, and I love to charm.
