You say, 'Hail, Jinkus Felligan'

Eracon Krengon says 'Tis good that Jinkus sent you with this poster. There has been talk of a Northman fugitive in the city. Take this list back to Jinkus so that our brethren in Halas are aware of the many criminals who have fled Qeynos and are still at large.

Your faction standing with Banker got better.

You need to return the Most Wanted list to Justin in Halas (as Eracon says). Justin will then give you the amulet.

I sent a quest correction email about this as well.

Was bored tonight so I took the 2 minutes to do this quest, thinking it would be a good way to get cheap pet weapons. They're not lore, so I summoned two of them and went out to the tundra to find a mammoth. Summoned pet, gave him both hammers, sent pet in and he's just biting and double attacking as normal, not bashing and duel wielding like he would with two fine steel hammers for example.

So for anyone thinking they could run this real quick just so they wouldn't have to carry around a bunch of fine steel or polished steel ulaks or something to get the pet to quad, I'll save you the time. Although they are NO DROP, you can still give them to the pet, he just won't use them.

Actually its a little bit deeper then the fact that the summoned weapon is clr, pal, shm only.

Pets will not equip no drop weapons. I have handed my necro's skele pet no drop weapons before (the weapons the lesser ice bones drop in kurns tower) and he will not equip them. Hand him a weapon that is not no drop and has the same skill to use and the same allowable class/race and he will it.

Somewhere back a few years (in the 2-3 year range) they removed the ability for pets to equip no drop weapons, if they ever had the ability from the beginning.

Okies this is one of the better newbie quests, it is a MUST DO! I did this with my level 5 Barbarian Shaman (going totally untwinked). As a few of you have said also, I did it along with the Going Postal Quest also. Now, it only took me 33 minutes to complete using the PoP stone right outside Halas, I zipped up to PoK, then back down to Qeynos. And get this, since I had just made level 5 (ding!) I also needed snake skins to use for my new Scale Skin buff, and those were totally easy to pick up in the newbie area of Qeynos. Completed this quest in no time flat, make use of those PoP stones folks! And Oh my Gosh, the Summoned Hammer of Wrath, boy o boy did I get rid of my newbie club real quick!
Shaman Armor
# Dec 24 2002 at 8:40 AM Rating: Decent
Is there any reason we don't have a real newbie armor quest for the Shamans out there? I thought it might that Barbarians didn't wear armor. OK OK I know. Anyway I read on EQShaman about the higher level armor that is available but what about now? Maybe if all the damned Druids and Rangers out there weren't so generous, I could afford to buy banded by selling SOWS and Buffs - but NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO. These guys are so happy to have it, there giving it away. So what's a newbie/lowbie (Untwinked) Shammy to do? Oh well, I guess it's a good thing we RULE anyway.

There are 2 Greta's near each other, the one you want is actually to the right of Smokes if you are facing the building. Maybe that's why you're having trouble. My brand newbie 3 Shammy did this quest with the last 25 minutes my Mommy -- oops sorry my Wife gave me to play last night. Thanks Perl for the SOW and for letting me know that Cindl is in Mac's Kilts. Ran to Queynos and back without running out of SOW.

I know some other classes have quests like this, but after you earn the initiate symbol you can do another quest to get a disciple symbol or something like that.

Does anybody know if such a thing exists for shamans?

The series of quests you refer to are really deity-specific, not class-specific.

Troll Shamans of Innoruuk certainly have several quests in the series analogous to this - the same ones that Dark Elf Clerics can do, in fact - but not the Tribunal-worshipping Barbarians. This is the only one for them.

Hey everyone... Yes this is an Awesome quest for a Low level shaman.
Most likely your first Wis Item if you are untwinked.

To take full advantage of this quest however, do the following
Combine this Quest with a few others that start in Halas.

1. Clover Leaf shipment (listed as Note to Einhurst in Halas Quests).
2. Lion Meat shipment.
3. Go Postal(from Halas to Qeynos) Bard is in Halas Bank.

Just find someone to cast SoW on you and you should have no trouble.
Being a Shaman take the quick route back and Gate.

Excellent Shaman Quest
# May 07 2002 at 5:34 PM Rating: Default
This is a must do for Quest Shamans because the Hammer is an excellent weapon up through your teen age years. The light source is invaluable if you ever wish to get through the BB tunnel and out into the unthawed world. It a magical weapon allowing you to hunt Ice boned skeletons when your lvl high enough. I really enjoy quest where you can get a decent reward which is useful to improve yourself (ie AC/spells/weapons). More Shaman quest please. Remeber to right click the necklace each time you log on(otherwise no hammer). LOL slapping mobs like a bad cheerleader is not nearly as effective.

Bane damage
# Apr 23 2002 at 10:44 PM Rating: Default
Just add the bane damage to the damage delay hence this 6/32 becomes 9/32 against undead. At level 9 I am hitting undead for 18 and I can solo a red vengful only using half my mana for poison Dot and I use burst of flame because the vengfuls hit fast. If you time your casts you will be interupted a lot less, as soon as he hits you start casting BoF.

Even a level one can do this if you know the way to Qeynos. Its just a run away, head left from halas ramp to 3 guards, turn right (south) and go to the next entrance to the canyons, keep the wall on your left. A bit down you'll take a left turn and follow that to BB. Run inside past potentially 4 gnolls and your in BB. Head out the other side and in Qhills go left along the zone. Eventually you'll get to a path, take it right and at the stone plinth go left. Poof your in north qeynos. Just head to South qeynos bank and give the poster to the guard inside.

If you don't have gate yet when you do this make like a warrior. Bank everything, especially what you get from the guard!, and attack him. One Loading, Please Wait and your back home to collect your reward. Well worth the trouble.

And watch out for those Vengfuls!!

Fast and Easy
# Oct 17 2001 at 4:49 AM Rating: Default
This is one of the easiest and fastest quests I have done in months. The quest is well explained in the description. Read it through carefully and you should never have a question. No faction is needed(wonderful). I performed this quest in 11 minutes, no sow, but I used gate from Qeynos(was level 5 at the time). I would guess it would only take 25 minutes for a 1st level character to complete the quest. Just ask someone passing by to kill the guards at the Everfrost zone if you are to low to run past them.
Inside BB is even easier since there are so many people hunting in there, if troubled, once again ask the zone to clear the path and you will find people more than happy to kill a gnoll on your behalf. Then after BB you are home free. Repeat the previous actions to return if you don't have Gate. A 6/32 weapon is very nice for any non twink player(I still have a 5/32staff at level 8). It should last you until atleast 10th level, which allows you to save money for other things, like spells. Also, every time you run by any noob area, just hand out free Hammers and you will make friends faster than you can cast the spell.

I apologize for giving false information, the Hammer is No Drop, I didn't look closely the first time I saw it(gotta stop playing at 5am).
Never the less, it is still an awesome weapon. I also forgot to mention that it is a light source. No more holding candles or fire beetle eyes, which take up valuable room for shields or loot, which is very important at low levels.

Chanter pets can actually equip a second weapon, assuming the pet is high enough level to dual wield.

The AI of the game sometimes makes odd decisions about which weapons(s) to have a pet wield if there are multiple available accoutrements, but frequently you can see chanter pets which consist of two weapons (rather than a weapon and a shield).

If you give a chanter pet a second weapon and he doesn't equip it, it's either because 1) the pet has not acquired dual wield ability [too low level], or 2) the game chose to use the default shield over the weapon.

Incidentally, giving a pet a weapon does have a concrete advantage -- it increases the chance that the pet will hit for its maximum possible damage. This is not merely a rumor, but was confirmed by Abashi (during his tenure as public relations manager). Any pet that is capable of equipping a weapon stands to benefit from doing so, regardless of the weapon's actual stats.

You can find Jinkus in the Shaman Guild. He is one of the Skill masters in the Chruch of the Tribunal.

Fun for lvl 1!!!
# Jun 27 2001 at 6:20 PM Rating: Default
This was the most exciting fun I've had as a newbie! I completed this quest as a lvl 1 and the prize is awesome! I downloaded all the maps from EQatlas of Everfrost, Blackburrow, Qeynos Hills, and Qeynos. For Blackburrow, download all 3 maps to be safe-a lesson I learned the hard way, I only had the top map. I got an SOW and ran non-stop to Blackburrow. Don't stop to fight anywhere on this quest at lvl 1! Do this only in DAYLIGHT!!! I was too impatient and did it at night. When I entered Blackburrow I plunged right into the pit! Had I done this in daylight, I'd have shot right over into Qey Hills, but . . . Wherever I was, all **** broke loose! There were adventurers fighting everywhere! Without a torch, and no map-duh-I stumbled around in the dark trying to stay alive and not upset any gnolls. Finally a great adventurer named Traffic guided me up and out at the Qey exit. I was hit by gnoll guards as I exited, but made it! Then I ran all the way to Qey. The return trip (on another sow) was in daylight. I scooted around the top of the pit and shot out the Everfrost exit with gnolls on my ****! Upon entering Everfrost, every mob chased me all the way to the guards! I couldn't believe I did it and didn't die!!! (the best part of doing this is u have nothing to lose at lvl 1 if u die!) I gave the item to Jinkus and recieved the necklace that raised my mana, my WIS, my AC-I think- and when u left click on it u get an endless supply of magical hammers! AND the necklace is a glowing torch at night leaving your hands free for melee and shields! What a terrific way to start as a newbie! What a rush to do that and not die along the way-THX to TRAFFIC! If anyone sees him in Qey, tell him Thx!!!!

~Wolfbone lvl 1 Barb Shaman -Provar server-at least I think that's the name of it, remember I'm a newbie!
Great for Level 1

Contrary to a previous post, you can get this quest & do it at Level 1.
I started a brand new Shaman & immediately after handing in my guild note, I spoke with Jinkus & got both the Initiate & clover shipment quests. I combined this with mail & lion meat & decided to try them all straight away. I died 3 times on the way to BB (damned Venges) but once at BB entrance the guards there ignored me; they conned Yellow to me - guess they think Green cons are beneath them :). The derailment squad were mopping up the remains of a train inside BB, so apart fromn a swat from a guardsman as I raced passed, it was no problem. (Note: Un-twinked, Un-SoWed - only my own Inner Fire). Straight run to WK & back (Daylight hours).
Swapped wanted posters then put absolutely everything in the bank. (Made level 2 somewhere in there). Keeping only my newbie club & provisions, I started the return trip. Realised I'd left my candle behind & therefore couldn't find my way through tunnel to Halas (not worth going back for it - very poor light source.
Didn't want to litter so jumped into BB pit - thought I'd check out tales of a silver ring down there - just had a chance to check it out before the Razorgill arrived.
Resurrected in Everfrost, ran to Halas & finished of the 3 quests (Lion Meat, Clover & Wanted poster). So now have my Initiate Symbol & a very nice weapon.
Don't recall how long it took me but I know it only took 3 hours to make level 3.

Question?`
# May 22 2001 at 5:56 PM Rating: Default

I hand the poster to the bank guard and I do NOT receive anything from him. I can NOT complete the quest. What's the deal?

How do I improve my faction with the banker?
Why isn't this a series though?
# May 03 2001 at 5:50 PM Rating: Decent
It would be nice for them to turn this into a series like the evil shaman one and the recent Tunare symbols too.

They are but haven't had a chance to finish all the different symbols.

The text line for Cindl is "What mammoth hide parchment?", and it is true that you have to be on the same side of the counter as her. You can tell this by trying to hail her for quests from the other side. As far as hailing Jinkus to start the quest, you don't need to. Just gather the ink and parchment from Greta and Cindl (respectively) and hand them to Jinkus. I found tho, that this doesn't work for a 1st or 2nd level shaman... seems you have to level a couple of times first. For those of you thinking of combining this quest with going postal, try gathering the mail in Halas, then the mail in Surefall, then the mail in WK at barb fishing village. Take all three to Qeynos at once. You can also start the langseax and clover leaf shipment at the same time. Just tell the girl inside on the right of the magic jar (?) that Jinkus sent you. She will give you a letter to give to Ulrich McMannus. All these quests together really make the trip to Qeynos worthwhile. Sometimesw you get a bronze weapon for doing the clover leaf shipment )

i did this quest at lvl 5 (to get thru BB). And i must say, it was well worth it. The necklace is 3 AC, unlimited Hammer of Wrath, +1 WIS, and +3 mana. but what it doesn't say is that the necklace is also a lightsource, as good as a lantern, which enables us nightblind barbs to carry a shield instead of a lantern! I thought I'd like to share my discovery with others. OK.

On FV server does not seem to be light
# Oct 05 2001 at 10:03 AM Rating: Default

Does not seem to be a light.. Or at least I have a ton more brightness with a fire beetle eye, have to check again.

However on the fv server (test anyway) the hammers have plus 3 damage to undead. Also on the FV test server as lots of other stuff all the quest items for it, the thing itself and the hammers are tradeable. The plus 3 dam to undead is nice, my level 6 barb shaman was just doing 19 damage to a skeleton and the item is only 32 spd 6 dam so it is indeed adding 3 dam to every hit.

why?

this is a sweet newb item the perks far out way the run to qynos stil use my neckles at 10th lvl (i got it at 5th hehehe ) becouse i can do as much dmge with the magic hammer as a warrior with a rusty weapon or a reguler weapon (i.e axe long sword , hammer...not the ones like bronze long sword ect) but i ask you this..why was i the only barb i the current flux of newbs to try and do it?
as you all know halas is 3/4 shamans and out of all my shammy friends (gawd over 20 ) i was the only one sporting a spify neckless of tribunal and a magic hammer to boot
Disciple quest link?

Margyn McCann asks if you are a [young shaman] or a [sittin' member of the court]. Replying that you are a young shaman gets you the Granin O'Gill quest and saying you are a member of the court gets you the reply that "there are no heretics to hunt down right now." That's a 13 level shaman who is considered warmly.

Could this be a lead-in to the next quest? If so it would indicate the quest is not in place or it is level dependent.
Quest Info

Here is how I did the quest -
Hail Jinkus, and tell him you are a new shaman (follow the text). When he replies, tell him 'I will contribute to yer church' (has to be exactly as he says it). He will reply again, and then tell him 'I will make a delivery'. he will tell you get get a bottle of ink from Greta (location above) and a piece of mammoth hide parchment from Cindl in mac's Kilts. Go to Greta, target her (I did and it worked for me) and say 'What ink'. She will give you a bottle of ink. Go to Cindl, target her, and say 'what piece o' mammoth hide parchment' (exactly like that). She will give you a piece of parchment. Take these to Jinkus, give to him, and he will give you a scroll. Take this to the bank in Qeynos, and give it to the barbarian guard inside the bank. He will give you a list to take back to Jinkus, who will then give you the symbol (AC 3, +1 wis, +3 mana, Effect: Hammer of Wrath (summons a magical 6/32 hammer as the level 9 cleric spell) and is also a lightsource. Not as of yet there are no Disciple/Regent symbols for Tribunal followers, or else they are just simply so well hid no one can find them.

For those who do not know, Jinkus is in the shaman guild on the left hand side nearest the back.
