Palomidiar Allakhaji is found in the Shadow Haven library, and you can see him on your Find, as he is a Wizard Guildmaster.

    You say, 'Hail, Palomidiar Allakhaji'

Palomidiar Allakhaji says 'Good day to you adventurer. Is there something I can assist you with? I have been quite busy as of late with the study of this [mysterious glowing rock] I was presented with and I do not have much time for small talk.

    You say, 'mysterious glowing rock'

Palomidiar Allakhaji says 'Well if you look closely, I have it right here. It has been glowing since I first received it. But since it was delivered to me it has lost a lot of it's aura. I feel I will need another sample soon, it seems to lose its [energy] as time goes on.

    You say, 'energy'

Palomidiar Allakhaji says 'This I do not know and I am trying to discover. However, as I said before, this rock is slowly losing its energy it seems. I will need another [sample rock] soon.

    You say, 'sample rock'

Palomidiar Allakhaji says 'I believe these rocks are from the Paludal Caverns, if my sources were correct. Beetles that crawl over and feed off the rock structures there might explain the glowing, if they are the origins of these mysterious rocks. To further my studies I will need another pulsating rock. Will you [retrieve this rock] for me?

    You say, 'retrieve this rock'

Palomidiar Allakhaji says 'Fantastic Lixia. Please return to me at once with a pulsating rock. We will conclude our dealings at that time.

You will find the Pulsating Rock off of Mud Burrowers in The Paludal Caverns.

Palomidiar Allakhaji says 'This is it, this is what I am looking for to continue my studies. It is generating the same if not more energy then the rock before it! Excellent work Lixia, You have my sincere thanks. Should you collect further samples in the future please bring them to me directly.

You only need to turn in 4 Pulsating Rocks to get Amiable faction. With the Advanced loot system there's a great trick you can do to gather them quickly:
Do the Amulet of the Haven Quest to get good base faction. Bind by the Trademaster to speed that up.
Re-Bind at Palomidiar to save an incredibly long run.
Go to Paludal, have someone Evac (Yourself if 18) to the Shadeweaver's Zone line.
    Kill a bunch of beetles with PB AoE or your friends, get 4 Rocks to drop and loot one and Gate. Or have your friends loot them all and skip the next part ;}
Turn in your rock, run to PC again, and it will automatically drop one in your bag when you zone in from anywhere. Gate, rinse, and repeat.

On the new Progression servers, especially Selos and mangler as they start in Luclin, getting this faction to Amiable or Kindly during Luclin for the caster classes is a HUGE drop in cost for all your spells there, many of which are the most efficient or useful before PoP.
    Enjoy!

I suggest removing the part in your description about Lamukas Kaesoanls. It is very confusing, and you don't have to speak with them in order to start this quest or any other. I'd just start with talking to Palomidiar Allakhaji.

Palomidiar Allakhaji is found in the Shadow Haven library, and you can see him on your Find, as he is an Enchanter Guildmaster. Here is the info as of 11/3/16, cleaned up a bit for you.

Thanks, I updated the quest text accordingly. Also, Lamukas is actually a Wizard guildmaster, not Enchanter.

The guy you turn these into is an Erudite and is indeed in the library in Shadow Haven. It's in the northeast part of the city, behinf the monk trainer. He's at about location 1300, -450 or location 2 on this map:

    Remember, the library is upstairs.

It took me 6 stones to reach indifferent from dubious with the House of Midst. It took only 2 to reach apprehensive and then 4 more to reach indifferent. By the way, this way done with an Iksar monk.

The Mud Burrowers drop the pulsating stone about 10% to 20% of the time, as an estimate. The stone is lore so you have to go turn it in before you can loot another. There are several Mud Burrowers in Paludal Caverns near the zone line to Shadeweavers. As some have mentioned, this can be done very easily by a druid; the lessor succor spell puts you right at this location near the Shadeweavers zone line.

It should be noted that while this quest affects both the House of Midst and the Traders of the Haven, it weighs heavily with the House of Midst and lightly with the Traders. The House of Midst is primarily the Caster's Guild and the Monks near there.

For those still confused over who has the rock, the mud burrowers and not muck diggers have it. These burrowers should be the first creature you see upon entering the paludal caverns from shadow haven...they are all over the entrance tunnel... for anyone coming from anywhere else, go to the shadowhaven tunnel. I havent gone too deep in paludal, so dont know where else they spawn.

Actually, they are not in the Shadow Haven zone area, but rather in the Shadeweavers zone area, and there are a bunch of them, but the stone seems to be more common as you go further in from Shadeweavers zone area, as if it drops from stronger mobs more commonly.
    Quest for Druids lvl 18+
    # Apr 10 2002 at 3:49 AM Rating: Default
This is easiest for a druid of lvl 18+ to gain faction. Enter Paludal Caverns, cast LESSER SUCCOR, the Safe Point in PC is right by the Shadeweaver Zone, no Phlargs there, kill you mob, loot, gate back. Rinse repeat, till faction is high enough.

In my eyes binding in the Nexus in addition with our ring and gate spells, opens all of Norrath to us.
    easy for druids
    # Apr 04 2002 at 11:27 AM Rating: Default
This quest should be really easy for any druid above 18, although might need to med a little bit. Bind yourself next to Palomidiar, and when you zone into Paludal, cast Lesser Succor/Egress. Pow, right next to the burrowers. Loot a stone and gate back and give it to him. Rinse and repeat.

Anyone know what faction the druid guildmaster is on, or if he will ever speak to me at all? He refuses to speak with my ******** druid.

Also if you do the Traders of the Haven quest ( https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1449 ) which results in the Amulet of the Haven...the gm will talk to you when you are wearing the amulet. I had that trouble when I first got Luclin, but after getting my amulet he speaks to me fine.

I'm a human though, so maybe it's worse for halflings. The best was when my buddy Gallatin hailed him and he said "I don't have anything to do with Wood Elves." (for those unaware, the gm is a woodelf)

I don't know if it is because of how VI screwed up the faction messages (or if they are even fixed by now), but I got two faction messages:

House of the Midst got better

Damnit, I don't care about them! I want my haven merchants faction to go up :P

OK. What on earth (Norath). My faction to Indif went up doing three faction adjustment quest, letter from commissioner, box of jewels, n Rhino Beetle Horn. This should be just enough. But still complete the Commissioners Quest to get Amulet i think book of sales secrets; making 4 total quest last one you do just once.

4 trips raised me from initial apprehensively to House of Midst to indifferently. Merchants are still glowering though, gotta do another quest.

Kinda humiliating, running such simple errands as a powerful 48th season Magician. Arrogant Bummers, these Shadowhaven folks.
    Pulsating vs Glowing
    # Jan 17 2002 at 6:46 AM Rating: Default
Just to remind everyone, there are 2 'glowing' objects you get from beetles in Paludal. One is the 'Glowing Heart Stone' from the Glowing Muck Diggers. This is used for one of the Khati Shah Claw upgrades. The stone for this quest is the 'Pulsating Rock', and it drops off a different beetle. They both look like a piece of turquoise. Neither one is all that rare, so just start killing bugs. Glowing muck diggers are a little tougher than the other beetles, maybe 14-16th they're light blue.

You gotta have faction above apprehensive. I gave the guy a stone and he just gave me that blank stupid look.

BTW, they drop from Glowing Muck Diggers. Green to my level 20 Wizard.

Nothing to do with faction, you brought the wrong stone. Try glowing rocks from Mud Burrowers.

Mud Borrowers are the only creatures I've seen on them, but they are pretty common. I have found 3 already in the 30 minutes that I've been hunting in the Caves. Of course, they are lore so I can only loot them 1 at a time.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 07 2002 at 3:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) With a level 16 bard i can make numerous trips through the caves with no problem. Well, almost no problem. The first tunnel (from shadowhaven to hollowshade) is the only real obstacle if you're going all the way through. The reast of the time just sneak along the right wall, as high up as you can go. Even without sneak you can avoid argo if your careful. If the Patog Phlergs or whatever are tough for ya, you'll have trouble in that fist tunnel as ya can't sneak past them, but other than that it's easy.

    RE: Beastlords
    # Jan 07 2002 at 3:31 AM Rating: Default
Go back to Paludal and kill the shrooms and muck diggers. Once they get light blue and green move on to the mature sensates and grime tunnelers. You should be 15ish now. After that hit plergs, then patogs. Once your 17-18ish, Get to the shadowhaven side and get into a bandit group, that will take you up to and past 20...

It would be a nice quest if you can find the mob near the zone! The only problem is that you need to get past the bandits. Kinda limits the melee's.

    RE: would be nice
    # Mar 07 2002 at 3:49 PM Rating: Default
My main is a 33 BeastLord, Ive spent much time in the Paludal caverns. If you are level 30 or lower, you will end up agrooing some of those mobs. A theif can sneak around here usually no problem, other classes with a less adept sneak = more risky. So what you must do is fight the phlargs in one tight spot--the first cave you take after passing the bandits. The key to just taking one at a time is this: do not diddle dattle, each mob is spaced out agro wise mostly, run up and fight him right where he stands. If you try to pull him back they wil run around and agro 1-2 more friends to help. They fight to the death and cast a desease spell that sux. once you make it past that first tight cave walk you can run the wall across most of the rest, and then you come to an exit of any tunnel into a pool area.. any of these types of entrances into larger rooms are usually guarded by two of them, this is where you can start to run the rest of the way or fight those two and continue to walk the wall. This is for the shadeweaver route. If you can get sow somewhere then it is really easy to just run through it but dont get hit, they stun. After level 30 you can walk right through without them agroing. This run is hard for a lone warrior under 30 so be careful tanks. Dr00ds can walk through with sup camo easy. Traveling through this zone for those that are below 30 though for the most part is slow and takes patience, there are obvious medding points through out the journey--use them.
    RE: would be nice
    # Jan 05 2002 at 1:54 PM Rating: Default
Yeah, just hug the walls to the right or left and the bandits won't agro. Only problem I had getting through the caverns with my newbie shaman was the fiends, they're packed together between the Shadeweaver and Shadowhaven entrances. :(
