got my shard as of 26th sept 2009
an Alchemist`s Acolyte spawns on average of 1 every 4 spawns, not too rare.
i got my shard on my 10th or 11th acolyte
seems to drop a drink in addition to it old loot table
i got like 4 drinks, 2 rings, 2 staff and finally my shrad
the shard looks like a long sword graphic instead of a dagger
spawn point is one corner outside of herblist house
+113, -13, -291 mentioned in previous post is correct
can camp in corner and single pull most of the time(agro upon log in).
sometimes an add will come (guess it's a roamer close by)
con red to me
soloed it at lv 51 with tank merc

Exact loc is +113, -13, -291. If you're at the ChardokB zone line and look across the water to the herbalist building, the loc is just to the right of the dock. PHs, as others said, are a Wizened Herb Collector and a Sarnak Herb Collector. Timer is just short of 20 minutes.
If you have a rooter and good Chardok faction this camp is cake. Even without the faction it shouldn't be too hard as long as you have a tank who can stand up to a bit of pounding. Just pull the PH or acolyte and whatever else aggroes with it and bring them to the ChardokB lever. The rooter roots the PH or acolyte and then zones out, and the tank either zones or feigns death. The rest of the train will wander back and the desired mob stays rooted. (Tank should stop attacking when root is cast, so you don't break the root.) The zone out and back clears aggro so the rest of the mobs don't come back when you resume beating on the acolyte.
Edit to add that, if you're trying to preserve your Chardok faction, you can spend the time between pops by zoning into ChardokB and fighting there.

dropped di'zok escape staff staff today had it equipped =)
I have been to the Herbalist camp in Chardock, and this guy wasn't up. We spent over an hour at the camp and had "a Wizened Herbalist" spawn at ramp leading to Herbalist house, got a bad pull, whole house emptied on us, evac, etc. Anyways, I was wondering if the Wizened Herbalist is a PH etc? Evertime I've had a ranger track Chardock for me this is the only named that has shown up at that spawn point. Will the Wizened despawn and Acolyte spawn? Is there a specific game time when the Acolyte is up? etc. Please help, I've been trying to get this shard for a month now, and it's nearly impossible to get a full group w/chanter etc. to sit at that camp with me for hours on end.
A Wizened Herbalist is another named that can spawn in this spot. There are 3 possible spawns. The Wizened, the Acolyte and some other obviously un-named herb collector type mob. I forgot the exact name but it's holding a scythe and looks like all the others.

Twice, in a row, I have had this guy drop Vile Sarnak Brew. It's a drink with 50 mana and 10 save vs cold. One of the two times, he dropped the SK quest piece.

Anyone know of a good map with the location of the herbalist, and this guy, on it? The Chardok map on eqatlas is unlabeled and confusing.

Go to www.eqmaps.com and download Chardok map set 5. Best maps imo. Place you wanna head is marked as the "Chardok Lower Level" (the 3rd file in the file set). Building you want is the square building just north of the little lake.
He was already up for us, in the SE corner of the room, just by the ramp up to the building.
Approximate location is 0, -100 in the lower areas of Chardok for any too lazy to look up the maps.

I too need a decent map for this. Have been in chardok, and keep feelilng bad for the people that come with me that aren't getting very good xp. Please Please Please Please, if you know of a good map or step by step instructions please post. Thank you all

LOL man this punk sucker drops a buncha stuff mostly JUNK a n00b would love . He drops the greenish metal shard for the Greenmist but it is Uber rare Drop and I have yet to see it .

WTF is a shard of darkness ????? isnt this guy sapposed to drop my greenish metal shard?? instead he dropped a weak little SK peircing *shard of darkness* is THIS the greenish metal shard used for the SK greenmist epic or is it not?
