Just did the forager cycle for at least 20 hours spread over several 60-120 minute sessions and it took me 86 named to get him. Started as lvl 52 on a 3 box and got 3 entire levels doing it. Takes about 6 foragers to get 1 named so it would be over 500 foragers killed.

Maybe I was extremely unlucky but it seems like this guy is a bit more rare than the other named on the cycle. That's over the equivalent of 5 full cycles and there's a bunch of named I got to kill 8-10 times before I got this guy. It would track with the fact that most illusion masks are a pain the butt to get.

Went in with a Ranger and Bard duo. Tracked and killed all foragers. Killed all nameds which spawned. About 40 minutes or so after zoning in Harbinger spawned. Tracked, killed, looted mask.

Kill foragers to spawn named mobs.

Killing the named mobs has a small percent chance to spawn Harbinger.

.............bad run, indeed; been camping forager for the Harbinger spawn going on 3 DAYS now: endless forager killings, seen every named AT least twice, killed Crusader Zoglic and got the Iksar Chestpiece, started with about 3 foresters up at any given time but has gone to 7 up at once, with 50% going to AA and killing light blue foragers I went from 55 to 56 and made at least 20 AA, yet STILL NO HARBINGER!!!!!!!!!!
......3 days; 10+ hours. Thinking I might've had better luck going after the Hobbit mask....

Forager's don't actually spawn Harbinger. Forager's spawn the named mobs which do spawn the Harbinger. I popped two of them at once after killing foragers exclusively until all but 1 were left. I had around 15 named mobs up. I started killing all the named and got two Harbingers up at once. Both spawned within tracking range of river.

Good luck,

Actually your wrong, when you kill foragers they can repop as any of the cycles named including Harbinger. When you kill a named it can repop as a forager or as another named. Example; I killed a forager. A second later on track was Harbinger Dronik, I killed him it popped another Harbinger Dronik, killed it and it spawned Dragontail, killed Dragontail and it repoped as a forager. That series of pops shows that anything can pop anything as long as you keep killing the foragers.

They must've drastically reduced the named spawns. I've NEVER seen a name spawn a name and its been 1/6-ish forager-to-named ratio

I've seen it on a private server that I test things on. I imagine it's simply a chance to spawn rare and forager is PHer. One thing is for certain. Rares can spawn in place of Foragers, so kill foragers!
*EDIT* I've had two instances of a rare instantly respawning in to another rare. It does happen.

Took me four hours to get this blasted mask as a 65 bard (230 AA)... Go do the FoS mask if you're high enough level--it's faster, better exp, and a subquest for the only iksar skeleton illusion.

65 is really a convenient level to get this mask at, track-wise, although it'd still be faster at 85 with better DPS. The nice thing about 65 is that all the forager and named PHs are green (except two-ish on the spawn table, which are light blue), while all other mobs are gray, so they stand out on track. Harbinger Dronik himself is light blue so he really stands out.

I'm too impatient to sit still in one place so my strategy was to track the topmost forager on track (since it updates based on newest spawn), kill it where I found it, then go and track the next one. Maybe not the best idea, but definitely don't try pulling them elsewhere, especially if you're playing selos because you'll lose aggro. Keeping them in one spot chances that another forager will pass by and save you the trouble of tracking it as well. But I'd definitely suggest standing by the river instead of tracking all over the place, it's probably why it took me so long to get my mask.

TAKE NOTE: If you're not seeing foragers on track they're in the SE part of the zone, as a post below stated, but the nameds (and I assume also Dronik) CAN spawn there...

The mask takes you up to indifferent with all iksar IF and ONLY IF you are Agnostic. My Veeshan-following Enchanter couldn't even get to dubious with collab and illusion (which is natural, since Veeshan/Dragonkind are the Iksar's enemy)

lvl 51 monk, I think will struggle. Depending on what you have, but tanking this guy at 51 will likely take on its toll due to the duration of battle. Kiting him will work, I've done this guy many times with 53 bard with some jamming. But if you have to get into close quarters battle, I reckon you will need a healer type.

I'd say easy take down given the gear today. Back when the lvl cap was 60 the general classification of gear was about 1/10 of what it is now. I'd say even if you were geared with intricate/defiant stuff and maybe a hot pot or 2 you'd be able to solo this guy np.

This is an easy camp. I did it with a 72 ranger and myself a 69 rogue. What we did was posintion ourselves in about midway between the lake and the end of the zone on the river. We killed alll the froglock foragers we seen and all the named mobs we seen, plus we killed all the adds. We did this for about 45 minutes with the ranger checking track frequentlly. After about 45 minutes he appeared on track and we found and killed him. He droped the mask the first time we killed him. :) hope this helps

Took me about the same too, by coincidence. I just stood still, killed the froggies on the spot, and watched for wandering Nameds. I spotted a Named Tigress (dropped a shammy "See Invis" amulet) and a named Cockatrice (dropped nothing), so figured that was a likely area for Harbinger Dronik to wander past, and then a few minutes later, Dronik glided along, within eyeshot.

He was an easy light-blue con, to a 70 Beastlord, and dropped the Mask. The swarms of Foragers were far more of a handful than he was :D For green cons, they have a ton of hitpoints, and getting 5 at once wandering past, then aggroing, is a damn nuisance!

My little halfling is now Iksar-capable and. being so much taller in Iksar form, can now see more than knees and backsides when backstabbing :D

This isn't a camp exactly. You hunt down froglok foragers and keep them dead.
Several different named creatures can uncommonly spawn instead of a forager,
so getting a specifc named mob is a matter of time.

He used to use the wicked level 49 spell Ice Comet, among others, but now he does less damage
with level 39 spells Immobilize and Elnerick's Entombment of Ice and level 49 spell Rend.

I camped in TT for a number of days...3-4 hours at a clip killing off Foragers and every named that pops. It appears that a named appears ever 4-5 Foragers.

Took a REAL long time to get this guy to pop...there are a number of nameds in the Forager cycle. All of them are wimps to my 58 Ranger and 51 cleric box.

When he did finally pop he was just WNW of the North Tip of the lake and he was HARD compared to the other nameds in the cycle. I was originally gonna just cheal at 40% but his nukes were so bad I had to keep spamming Remedy heals on myself to keep up my HP at a safe level. Total fight took a little less then 1.5 minutes and was a little nervous a few times when health dropped to below 20% but managed to get this sucker and the mask drop for a friends bard.

When confronting him make sure your group knows where the puller is as he was able to root my Ranger quiet easily and I had to run my cleric to him rather then the ranger to the cleric. Also, when I did finally run the cleric to the ranger I got a whole bunch of roaming adds...would have loved to have pulled him to a safe spot instead of playing on his terms.

Added (Quick notes):

Do not attempt with out a tracker
Make sure you can self heal or have a healer if your HP is less then 5KHP (I had 3.5K with Virtue)
Best camp spot I found was at the north tip of the lake right on the shore
Watch out for adds if you can't pull him to your safe camp.
Have patience...Allow lots of time for pop :)

A small guide

Thought I would post a small guide on how to get your Iksar Hide mask. It's meant primarily for bards, but hopefully others will find it helpful also. First, check out my map. It's an EQAtlas map that I have drawn on a little to help me explain things. I'm not a graphic artist though, so excuse the kindergarten drawing skills. Now, on to the guide:

The foragers typically spawn from two positions, roughly marked with my A and B on the map. The corresponding colored lines are their estimated pathing routes. The "Valley" that I have marked on the map is where I tend to kill them, as A. it's close to part of forager A's pathing, and B. it's relatively safe. Other then the ruins with spectrals, mobs very rarely go there.

Killing the foragers is pretty straight forward. Just chant them down in the valley. As soon as one dies, either another forager or a named will pop in it's place (at the spawn point).

You will notice that many posts refer to Harbinger Droniks nukes, and how much they hurt. Well, they do. But to avoid that (and this works with the other named, especially Zoglic, it's good to get him to waste his HT) I would charm him and sic him on another mob. He'll blow as much of his mana as he can, then go to melee. If he's still casting a lot when the first mob dies, sic him on another. Continue doing so until his casting has all but stopped. While he is charmed, keep your Elemental chorus running, just in case charm breaks early and he tries to nuke you. After he has blown his mana, recharm and drag him to the "Valley". Now it's a simple chant kite. I would keep Elemental chorus running, just in case he tries to root you, but that won't happen very often. This tactic is very important when fighting Zoglic, as you want him to blow his mana AND his HT on something other then you.

If all goes well, you'll have your Ikky mask, and possibly an Ikky BP, very shortly. Good luck and I do hope this helps some of you.

PS The mask DOESN'T give any regen. It is for RP purposes/faction (if you're agnostic) only.

EDIT: Also, if the foragers stop popping and there's no named up, head to the SE part of the zone and look for a forager. After you kill that one, they should start popping normally again. Just be careful down there, as there are a few higher level mobs there that will cast on you and ruin your day if you're not careful.

spawn rate
# Oct 01 2004 at 11:11 AM Rating: Decent
Must be my lucky day, first he pops and 2 spawns later Zoglic does :)))) He's part of forager cycle (for those of you who don't want to scroll) and as stated below he does indeed pop as much as any other mob on the cycle (including Zoglic). I can imagine that after hours and hours of doing the cycle and having neither pop that it can seem as if they are more rare but I've done this cycle often and its jst a matter of luck and jst keeping at it. This, aswell as the ikky bp, sells well and on AB I usually get rid of both for between 5k and 10k very quickly.

His spawn rate seems to be the same as any other in the cycle. I run this cycle every now and then and have killed him twice, both times he dropped the mask. The 1st mask i gave to my bard, the 2nd i put on my trader and checked in bazaar, there were 2 others selling it, 40k and 45k. Seemed WAY too high to pay for a silly illusion. I put it up for 10k just to see if it sells quick, but i have my doubts. If it was all/all maybe, but its not.

Just got this mask tonight (8 June 04)!! Thanks to the previous posts too I might add. Thanks for all the info guys and gals. Just to let you know what I saw. Killed foragers till a named would come up on track, killed the named, then the foragers would show back up on track. Finally got this guy after about two hours. Sicked two frogs on him to suck up the nukes (one innocent bystander, one an add) and then chant kited him around. He got a snare to stick at the very end but by then it was too late for the poor sob. When he popped I found him right outside the cave to Swamp ZL.

I just killed this guy today solo. Being that I am on Stromm I didn't want to bay 25k for the mask. He was very easy at 56 for a bard. I just twisted 3 DoTs with elemental chorus and resisted everything he threw at me. One time my chorus missed a note and I thought I was done because he landed a snare on me, but I just charmed him and let him wait for me to break snare. (I prolly should have had mez up but what the hay). Anyways I'm happy now.

Dont know what your resists are with elemental chorus but with mine at 240+ he still lands huge nukes on me....and thats at 56 as well. I just grab a pet(anything really, preferably hunter) and let them eat his mana heavy nukes and when hes done with them i throw out 3 chants and elemental chorus...after he uses his mana he just tries castin roots which seem to be resisted much more with 240+ mr than the nukes and havin your resists bumping.

I suspect you could solo him with the right resists, but the Iksar Hide Mask is only wearable by bards and rogues, as are most (not all!) of the similar illusion masks and items.
