I have killed numerous Foragers and every KOS named I see up. I have spent 5 hours in TT killing them with a tracking Ranger. I have killed the named off at least 3 times for each named I have seen .....and still no Harbringer. Dragontail X4, Champion X3, Skelly dude with a pet X3, Silvermane X3, Bloodeye X3, Ghostly dude in hut X3, 2 different named Frogloks X2 each.... not one Harbringer. Seems to be a rare spawn with uncommon loot = Raster ! lol
Will post a follow up later on to see how long killing the mentioned mobs takes to spawn the pos Harbringer guy.

Update: 18 hours later...working in 3-4 hours increments ...no trace of Harbringer

Took around 2 hours to get... I slaughtered with my 72 necro, downside was the none tracking.
After an hour of being in Trak's teeth, ranger friend of mine joined me and it was slightly easier. Killed a couple of named while we waited so he didn't leave empty handed either.

I have killed Harbinger Dronik numerous times. I farm him whenever I can. Every time I have killed him, he has dropped the mask. Which would make it a very common drop, not very rare. Also, on the Bristlebane server they sell in the Bazaar for between 10 and 17k depending on the number of traders selling it.

I dont think this is worth the price for a bard, Just kite for it yourself. I went to traks teeth and kited for about 2 hours, got 5 diffrent names to spawn and got some cool loot, plus this mask

This mask is rogu/bard only and clicks from inventory for those classes. It does not work for any other class, like the mask of the deceiver does.

I can confirm that this DOES work from inventory, just not from bags(as with any clicky). i have tried it on all of my characters and my friends' characters to see the different race/class combos, worked on bards/rogues ONLY.

*coughs* check description it is bard/rogue only so no wonder as a druid it does not work
I'm well aware of what the item description says.. notice it does not say "MUST EQUIP" therefore one might assume that it can be clicked by anyone from inventory (one item that I know for a fact you can do this with is the Forlorn Scepter that drops from the King in the Warrens).

Although readers beware, some items which are flagged as certain classes only can be clicked from inventory by people who aren't one of those classes. This isn't one of those things.

as of june 9th 2004 I can confirm this item still drops, It has a required proc lvl of 38 though and must be equiped.

I just got mine fer my bard last night from a guildie. He keeled it easy kill with his 60 bard. I had to beg him for it and offer many-a-trades, but he finally decided I could have it =P. Uber druid that one is... Thanx Dank!

just dropped this guy with my 56 druid for the second time. Tossed on my resist spells and buffed cold resist to 96 (pretty low I know) .... well he landed one ice comet and had me down to 30%. Rooted him and doted him with drifting and winged, tossing on drones from the ESV. Fight lasted few mins and now my 44 bard has the mask for the second time. Fun kill and always gets my heart racing when I seem him on track. GL to all in the future.

Did this guy today will doing my OS key, me a 55 pally with 4.2k hp and 1100 AC killled him with one heal from a 60 druid, plus the add. just kept him stunned really a easy kill dont no why they are so much.
Finally got this mask fro my 45 wood elf bard and thought I would try and beef up my faction with the Iksar. As I as turning in bone chips to Trooper Mozo a Crusader hissed and HT'ed me at which point all the guards jumped me and before I could run I was dead.

Not really sure about the religion thing, but i have been working on cabalis faction with a ralos zek worshiping ogre. Had killed explorers till i hade enough faction to turn in a bag plus full of explorer knives, by the time i finished this was max ally with legion of cabalis and i guess you can't get more then indiff with the troopers. At this point was still KoS to the crusaders. No on to bonechips, i have turned in close to 20 stacks to mozo, still indiff to troopers and still KoS to crusaders altho now threatingly rather than scowls. Religion may effect it i don't know, but faction is getting better with them.
*All* mobs can see your religion, so if you're worshipping, for example, Tunare, Iksars will KOS you. Use your faction song on them next time, and see if that helps, if they're around when you're handing things in.

If I remember correctly, Crusaders can sense your religion, or something like that... essentially, you don't want crusaders around when you're doing the hand ins... it's not that they can see through the illusion as much as they know you don't have iksar faction, or whatever.

I camped this last night. As an FYI, the foragers spawn just east of the SoNH zone line. Finding the first one can be a MAJOR pain, but after you kill it the other one will spawn in the same general area. These guys can move to! Have a tracker on hand (I soloed the cycle with a 62 druid np) They pop right after you kill one, so there is always one up. The named spawn in the same area as the foragers as well. I killed about 10-15 foragers before the first named (Commander Sils) popped. 5 more foragers after that Harbinger Dronik popped. He was an easy kill, snare and nuke till dead. I had a stun memed incase he decided to cast on me, but that never happened.

Nobody goes to Seb anymore so nobody kills Foragers / Hunters so named don't spawn so rare items from TT never drop anymore so prices go up.
The cost of most Kunark loot is increasing.

Just to note, the effect on this mask is exactly the same as the level 20 enchanter spell Illusion: Iksar. My enchanter has this spell, and the Iksar illusion DOES grant the regen, just like the Troll illusion grants regen and Dark Elf illusion grants ultravision, etc. Also, have a 38 rogue friend who confirmed this for me, it does give regen. Just hope to clear this controversy up :)

as a note: iksar and troll illusions do grant *a* regen, but not *the* regen... it adds 1hp/tick to your normal regen. I never tried the mask, I do not know how it works, but that is how the enchanter spells act on regen.

Yes. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to. I've got Mask of Deception and Mask of Obtenebration (Erudite mask), and carry both with me all the time. Both are clickable from inventory which is nice. Only mask I know of that isnt is the Burnoose of the Half-breed (Half-Elf mask)... which has to be equipped to cast.

No, they can not. You must be either a Rogue or Bard to use these Masks.

Generally if your class/race/deity isn't listed on the item, you can't use it. While I can't speak for this item specifically, I've come across items where this is the case and would assume this to be no different.
When trying to trigger the effect from inventory, I'd get the "Your race/class/deity cannot use the item" message (or something to that effect..).

Not that it matters, but an interesting piece of related info. A long long time ago (we're talking pre-kunark) the mask of deception WAS clickable by anyone from the inventory slot. Well I guess as of last year VI hadn't nerfed the pre-existing ones. So if you play on a very old server, you just may see a dark elf running around with twin lightning swords (Ranger class)
But as it is now, Railus is correct. You must be a Bard or a Rogue to click this item from your inventory.

Got this today on MT. Had me a 51pally, 51druid and 50chanter. Was pretty easy fight, but he HT'ed for 1200. He also droped a level 52 chanter spell. He was even con to the 50 chanter. I gave the mask to my 23 bard and she could not use the illusion =0( I hope this helps. Oh and he hit up to 116 dmg and I had 1008ac but he averaged 20 dmg hits.

Using my 59 Druid, with Blue Diamond gear and buffs, I got my Cold Resist to 204. I resisted the Ice Comet spell. Good thing since I only have 1700hp! =) This was the only spell he tried to cast, just the one time. I tried to stay outta range once I had him rooted. He dropped the mask the first and only time I killed him.

IF you have an extended range item you can root him and back off out of his range and keep him parked and dot him to death easy as pie.
Also if your not racing to be the first to tag him, he will agro many of the other mobs and in so doing lose a bit of hp and more importantly most if not all of his mana (saw him slay a few froggies before i attacked him).

Illusion: Iksar (at least the mask version) doesn't give any regeneration bonus. Too bad, but them's the breaks.

The enchanter spell, Illusion: Iksar, doesn't give regen either; it's the same as the mask version. Only Illusion: Troll gives the regen.

Well I got mine last night. Had a 54 druid pull him. He HT'd her for 1100 damage. Our group was a 51 monk, 54 druid, 52 warrior, 46 rogue, 48 rogue, 48 cleric. We were actually hunting for Sebellis key parts and stumbled on him. He went down after a fairly tough fight. Almost lost the druid. It was tough getting aggro of her and the cleric. Seems like he is pre-programmed to jump on the healers.
The druid pulled him to wall near the EJ zone line so we could run if we had to. Hits for 80-180 in melee. We figured he conned about level 49.

K here it is straight my bard has had this mask since lvl 35 and it didn't work. Tried it at 36 didn't work, tried it at 37 didn't work, finally tried it at 38 and it worked so that is the proc lvl.

Guise of the Deceiver (Prenerf Mask of Deception) procced at level 14, Mask of Deception (the bard/rogue only version that drops in its place) procs at 15. I've had 4 characters to get this below level 12, so I know this from experience.

Guys 2 years ago before i stopped playing eq it procced for me at lvl 17 not sure when it first started tho.But when did they nerf the proc i just bought one on ec'i server today and i am lvl 10 (new server new bard) and itr says not sufficent lvl so i asked ppl some one said 16 someone said 38,so can i have a little help here plz?

There's a one-charge halfing mask usable by dark elf, troll, shaman, cleric you can quest in Neriak.. there's an ULTRA rare bard/rogue halfling mask in Chardok, I've heard of the barbarian mask, but as far as I know it's just a rumor. As for the proc levels, you'll be 60 before you get either so don't bother.
The Flayed Barbarian Skin Mask exists, and goes for about 215,000pp on Povar (for an example of what it's worth).

Barbarian Mask drops off the Avatar of War in Kael. If you're planning on getting this...GOOD LUCK. He's been dropped several times across all servers, but he's just a real pain to take down.

The EQ people are great to give rogues masks that give them specil power is great rogues cant cast spells but there is 4 mask that change them to a Eduite, Iksar, Dark Elf and Gnome

this mask should be renamed "iksar regen illusion mask" your hp will go from ( example here) 500 to 502 , 502 back to 500, from 500 to 501 when standing, and do the same while sitting ( 500 , 506, 500, 503) so its like ya almost have the regen, but they snatch it away. actually, if you look at the numbers, it takes longer than a tick to get the 1 standing and 3 sitting than it does without the illusion. i reported it as a bug, because if you get ultravision along with de form, which is that races main forte, then wtf already.

As always a whiny monk that thinks everything that rogues get, monks should. First of all I don't view monks as being sneaky (rogues) or worldly (bards). That and the fact every other illusion mask is bard/rogue only.

i know what u mean, i hate monks on raids. they show use rogues up, i was on a PoH raid and started to pull corpses to the safespot one at a time, i got like 10/30 ppl done and a lich saw me and killed me, they sent in a monk and he pulled 10 corpses at once and just fded and everything left him alone!hide/sneak should be invis from everything, even liches!monks already show us up on raids they should never be able to take away our ability to use mask!

I have a barbarian rogue twink (yeah I got twinks) who is an adherent of the Tribunal. I found out after I made him that religion will still cause you to be KOS whatever your illusion might be. Then, I read up on the religions, and I found that the Tribunal has NO allies or enemies. My question, then, is for barbarian rogues who have the Iksar Mask AND Tribunal for religion: are you KOS?

My guess by observation (Ikky sk) and knowing friends that have gotten into the city, would be the troopers might not hate you but the crusaders may. Sit back and con the troopers. if non KOS con the crusaders and you'll probably be KOS based on religion (Cazic-Thule has no allies in our eyes).
If so you'll want to raise Crusader of Greenmist faction via the bonechip quests. hand in 4 4 stacks of bonechips to trooper mozo at the front of the city (if facing he'll be on the right, at the base of a small statue). Crusaders like to set inside the wall, usually there are 2. Sometimes they walk down towards the newbie ramp in FOB and back, so watch out. If it's an Iksar NPC with a pet, it's a crusader. If you don't see him coming they'll say hi with an 800ish harm touch...for some reason they don't harm touch the first KOS Npc they see, only players it seems. I watched horrified when one poped up on an enchanter friend of mine doing the quest. At level 40 he was shattered by the harm touch.

On Nameless server everytime I have heard someone shout PC on iksar hide mask the response is 5k so I think it's a pretty much set price on that server.

I payed 1500 for mine on Nameless in Bazaar.
Its amazing how much prices can change in the TWO YEARS since the guy posted that.
::sighs patiently:: Check the pricing info before you believe this mask only sells for 2k! It does not. It sells for around 5 - 7k on Druzzil Ro. Less if the person is tired of selling it or cannot use it. This is useable at L 39 +.
People love standing around in EC, looking like a lizard :) It messes with newbie brains. And bards, if they haven't screwed up Iksar faction, can POSSIBLY use faction song to get into Cabilis if they REALLY want to. :)

This mask sells routinely on the CT server for 1500 to 2000 pp. Paying 5 - 7k for it would be ridiculous.

I heard there are some similar items to this one that are not restricted to rogue/bard. If this is true it would make me REAL happy, as Verant has a sore spot for large races...

You're no doubt thiking of the 'Guise' series of masks...which sadly no longer drop. Everyone was getting them, and the sight of Dark Elf monks was just too weird :) There was also a Planar item call 'A child's mask' which would shrink you...also no longer dropping afaik.

when i finnally get to use the illousion (wich i must at mit i am looking forward to it will be fun) it wil change factions with all other citys right ? like free port will be KOS and kelethin and al those places am i wrong?

Yes as soon as you cast the illusion, you are automatically KOS in EVERY city except Cabilis. Heads up, I have died retardedly like this once or twice.
yup, not true, for example i m still amiabily in iksar form to the sister in oot, to the guard of qeynos and several faction... sure i have better faction with em normaly, but they don't kos me with iksar form... some faction will surely kill you if you're not friend with em, so keep con em while having illusion up...

Not true. I am able to walk through most portions of Rivervale, WFP, EFP with no problems in Iksar form. In halfling form I an ally in Rivervale to their guards and to FP Militia. In RV, the clerics/rangers/druids don't like me so once I past the cleric guild from Kith, I can walk through the rest of the city w/o a problem (banker doesn't like me though). While running around in Misty collecting batwings for my druid, Blixin ran up behind me with his little bug Ember and backstabbed me for 47 hehe. I forgot he wanders around the zone (still KoS since he isn't part of Guardian of the Vale faction).
In NFP, the pally/clerics are still threatingly in Iksar form since my faction isn't quite high enough yet when in halfling.
I haven't tried going into Cabilis yet...

ok this is a preatty nice mask for bards with the carisma and the Sv magic makes eh..well certainly not worth the money for rogues so my point is is that it was preatty foolish of me to save for a very long time and then buy this thinking yeah ill look like a iksar and in fact i cant even do that for 3 more lvls (BTW im not twinked a 100% earned so its hard for ME to save 1.1k wich is what i spent on it CHEEEEAP!)

Saw this guy for the first time today. Went running into him, all weapons blazing, and proceeded to have my arse handed to me. I thought I was OK with the 80 point fire and cold DDs he was throwing at me so the two 575 point Force Strikes which hit in quick succession came as a surprise. Free trip to bind point sans equipment.
Memmed the RIGHT songs, went back and pasted him.
If you are a medium high lvl bard the trick is to charm him, drag him to the zone and THEN fear kite him. Trying to fear kite him in the jungle itself is a sure-fire way to have 5-6 froggies beating the heck out of you.

I remember reading on the message boards that one of the eq guys posted that the iksar are VERY religious which is probably the reason you all have faction problems. (Remember these are the guys that brought you firiona vie in bondage gear)
Yes, they are. All Iksar worship Cazic-Thule automatically, to make up for the fact that no humans do, I suppose(I'm not counting the Heretics of Paineel here, bog standard humans).
