Azrax is the psudonym for Miragul who studied in this library when he was incarcerated
No faction hits when killed.
This NPC is on a different faction than the Heretics. I'm not sure which one, but he cons differently than most of the other NPCs in Paineel.

I just did this quest and had amiable faction and did not get the mantle. :( I think you must have to have warmly.

I tried to trigger this quest but could not. My faction with the Heretics is amiable(I understand though to get the mantle one must be warmly or better) but Ernax is indifferent to me. Is this why he won't talk to me(what is his faction affiliation)or am I using the wrong text to start the quest. This is what I said to him:
"I would like to talk to you on a matter of the soul."
Please let me know what I am doing wrong if anything. Thank you in advance.

He gives a quest for the Mantle of souls...+10 int, +75 mana, shoulder slot...for the quest you must kill a Dark Assasin, which can be found in almost any zone(but he travels from zone to zone, so I hear)and get a bloody mantle from him, a level 50 druid in Gfay, who is extremely hard to find,and loot a heart from her, and you must give 500gp to a guy in halas for a potion of sorrows, then give the potion and 1000gp to some other guy...he gives you some kind of crystal...cant remember the words to trigger this quest, but when you do, he gives you a box. You fill the box with the items listed above, and turn in to a Tormented soul in Necro guild with amiable or better faction. Good luck
