In the Rahte mountains, if you kill a lizard warrior a cyclops or the named cyclops will spawn. In SK, one will appear in the north by the river and run along side of it on the same path that treants/Grizzleknot will take
This one apeared red to my 34 necro, thinking I was all that I tried to kill it. Got it down to 17% when he finaly killed me. I think those ones are 38-42 with a low mana resistance. The only spelss that ever got resisted was Dooming Darkness. I'm going to try tomorow when I get more int only had 160.
I have a lvl 29 Necro and some decent Focus Effect items on him that I got from being very patient and thrifty at the Bazaar, (1 of which is an extended range ring) and I was able to take this guy out. Had to max buff my pet with everything I could, rest a bit, then blast him with my new darkness, send in pet, hit cyclops with Vamp curse, then fear, and to pet with Shadow recourse, back to cyclops and boil blood, and to fear whether it ran out or not and keep casting that till he went down.
Confusing part is that the cyclops had a scythe that he was creaming my pet with, and when all was done, I loot and get 7sp off the one-eyed freak, and not even the weapon he was sportin'. C'mon, 7sp won't even cover his breakfast for the morning.
im a lvl 28 necro and i was medding up just a bit away from paw and i saw this guy wandering around and he conned white to me i managed to fear kite till about 1 bub or 2bubs of health then the fear dropped and he chased after me i made the mistake of trying to refear and he beat me to the ground these guys are easy though if your a necro and have a decent amount of mana and your pets full health they hit hard so just fear kite em
I have been kiting them and hill giants as a level 35 ranger. They are easier than the hill giants. Most of them con db for me, but I depend upon root and snare with KEI. I'll not try them without KEI. However with it and patience, using mostly casting, you can solo them.

They say lvl 28 to 42 because the one in rathe mountains are about 28-32 or so people are saying. The other cyclops (the PH for the Ancient Cyclops in OOT) are possibly around lvl 38-42 , because they con blue to a 51 mage, and they also fight exactly or pretty close to the seafury cyclops on the next island over. I believe that the AC cyclops PH is similiar to the seafury cyclops, thus being about lvl 38 - 42. someone probably posted this already, but i didnt feel like looking, and i saw alot of posts about their levels. Also forgot to mention, look at the size of a cyclops in RM , compared to the one in OOT. the one in OOT is twice as big.
Surprisingly easy solo in Rathe for Mages above 34. Send pet, malise, heal pet once or twice, then nuke like crazy. Seen better loot, but for a blue bubble apiece at 36, I'm not complaining.
28-32 is way more likely, i think they had a typ-o ,and yes after the cool i can kill clops nove;ty wears off, move on they suck. HG suck too for exp compared to other things at their lvl and have insane hp but at least thye have good loot, clops drop poo.
the cyclops eyes are common drops off of sea furry cyclopses in OOT, weigh 5.0 ouch, used to be for an alchamy potion, not sure if they are for anything anymore... BTW SF's have aproximately 5k hp's so be safe and good hunting
I solo'ed a Clops in RM while looking for a HG group. I tashani, start casting enstill to lock after he hits me once, cast dot, tepid deeds, and alacrity pet, med. Redo dot, recast pet, alacrity, recast root, let it hit me, nuke, med. Start chain casting beserker str on pet til the Clops died. Went through 1 and a half pets, took 75 dmg after runeII, had 75m left. Was an easy fight at lvl 30. Their loot sucks and the time was wasted I feel, the exp wasn't great. as for the lvl range, I've seen red cons and took them down, so lvl 33 is max i think.
I solo'd a cyclops in SK at lvl 27... i'm a druid... don't even need ur lvl 29 spells ensnare and the DD( can't remember the name). just snare dot med. it takes a bit of time and care but it can be done.
The first hint here is these are not the undead cyclops in SK (south karna). A 27 druid cannot take these guys down. No matter how twinked you are, unless you have a lvl 50+ druid behind you keeping you alive while you try to whittle away at these guys with the lvl 50+ druids dmg shield doing most of the dmg.
Mages *can* take these at 26, but its not worth it for the down time.
Basically I was medding on a hill in the middle of SK when I head the distinct "boom..boom..boom" of a giant. By the time I got up to look around, he had aggro'd me. He took a good 60hps off of me in one swipe, but Xarn didn't take kindly to that and started beating on him. I did not have SoW and was too far from zone to make it. Plus I did not want to gate because I was bound in Qeynos (pre-PoP).
DS'd, and Chain casted heals and low-aggro nukes in between. After 3 heals, began casting a new pet. Told the old pet to go away with 1 bub of casting time left. The new pet began his turn at the Cyclops. 1 last heal and the Cyclops began to run. Cast 1 high-yield nuke and he was dead.
Looted toes, about 7 gp, and a rune that sold for 9gp. Completely OOM with a pet at 1 bub of hp left. Got some fair XP, but would have had more fighting during the 15 minutes of downtime afterwards.
Probably would have done better just Chain Casting pets instead of healing.

btw, i did mess up and get hit once...he triple hit me for 70 damage each. i think it would be difficult for a healer to keep a poor little druid healed up in a situation like that (not that i would really have much of an idea to be honest, my now lvl 29 dru is my highest char).
no, i have to disagree. i too solo'd one at level 27 self buffed only. i am not uber twinked although i do have decent wis for my lvl. it is very doable. admittedly i used up ever last tiny bit of my mana on him (tried to recast snare when it wore off and he was running but had insufficient mana). he took about 5 cruds and at least 7 to 10 careless lightnings. ony one lightning was even partially resisted and he took somewhere in the 70's on that one. while it was a difficult fight, it is very doable at lvl 27 and i think that you underestimate the power of a dru >:)
I just soloed one of these guys in SK last night with my 31 pally and never had it resist root once. It conned dark blue to me, so that could be why everything stuck, but in all, it wasnt that hard of a fight. Rooted him 3 times total, fired off maybe 3 or 4 heals on myself and eventually made him run like a baby.
As a Druid of 35 seasons, I soloed these guys fairly easily with half mana left at end of battle. Watchout for named cyclops, it is way underconned. With a druid buddy helping root and dot, and it resisting every other cast we both almost burnt through our combined mana pools defeating him, until we discovered that if one kept it rooted and snared while the other medded we were fine.
Seemed to vary quite a bit depending on what they conned. The reds had a decent resistance (50% of spells stick), whereas almost everything stuck on the blues. Bear in mind I always fire off Tashan to lower MR at the start of all battles.
I would like to know how many platinum they drop on average. Also, I'd like to know how many HP these mofos have. Also, what about a Hill giant's hit points? How many do they have?
I bin reding through all these post but its still not clear if ya can solo them around lvl 30... what I heard from players in RM it that the range from lvl 28 till 33. I considered them bleu, when i was lvl 30. I am mage and got really lucky pulling of that stunt.
I used my earth elemental, I started out with a Malise so that pet would have better change with its root spell... then I let it beat him for only a few seconds... whle i casted a dg shield on my pet. As I saw that is was slaming through my pets live points like crazy. I nuked it for about 3 to 4 times joined the battle to take some dmg from my pet... droped out at 50% health and went on with nuking it.. at the time i roped out it was at about 1/3 of its Health.. and boy was I lucky I blasted the sucker. My pet had 3% live left as wel was I out of mana...
hunting cyclopses in RM is good but don't do it solo unless ya are above lvl 33
