Fletching

Well, its about time VI puts more in game for those that fletch. I finally gave up my fletching at skill 198 because I felt there was no reason to continue it. Unfortunately there still is no reason to work on fletching.
Take for instance those who smith. They can make halfway decent armor. Those who sew can make great clothing. Jewl crafters have a huge range of jewlery and ALL of this gives stats. Granted, fletchers should need to get the bow staves enchanted by some class but after that I believe we should be able to make staves with stat enhancements. Even if VI threw in some small quests to get staves enchanted (Like the trueshot enchantment quest) it would be a much needed improvement. Fletching is about the only trade skill that does not make items with stats - Even bakers can cook food that gives stats and verrant has the nerve to throw in this POS bow. Well - I give up. why on earth I chose fletching as a skill Il never know.

This is compairable to the Raincaller and Trueshot minus the stats and usable by just about everyone.

I alway thought that EQ would be better if the quested for items were always better than everything else and followed shortly by the player crafted stuff. Dropped stuff should be crappy in comparison.

Nice to see Verant start to head down that road.

Couple of reasons that I will continue to use my Raincaller over one of these.
1 MAGIC, from what I was given to understand, unless your bow is tagged magic, range is determined by the lesser of the ranges of either your bow or arrows. ie if you are using a 200 range non-magic bow and 25 range arrows your effective range is 25, while using a magic bow with range 200 and arrows with range 25 your effective range is 225, not sure if this is true, but have noticed that magic bows seem to shoot much farther then non-magical ones with the same range.
2 Stats. Nuf Said.
3 Ranger only, What can I say, I like having things that other people can't use
Oh well, enough rambling

My understanding is that your range of an arrow is bow range plus arrow range I have taken low range of both then upgraded one or the other and recived an increase then when i up grade both it increases more. the point of a magic bow ??? i know silver arrow heads make the arrows inherently magic or at least able to strike magic on another not I WANT THAT BOW

The only problem with this is that some people don't play the game to quest or have trade skills, the 3 should have equal types of loot imo. I like questing once in a while and i have built up 2 tradeskills because I like working them once in a while but everyone is different. Some people do not enjoy questing, they enjoy levelling and looting.

Keep in mind this game is for everyone. We all like to do different things and plasy different ways. our strategies differ as well.

I personally think Quests and trade skills should give some experience(some do, I know) as I hate sitting in DL for a week being the only way to level up. Some probably enjoy that, who knows? Verant is doing fine, the game is expanding and improving. They will never please everyone in every way even so.

They don't have it up, but the silk version is 21/39, Range 200. I managed to make one at 190 skill, and am loving it. Big step up from my Trueshot of god-knows-how-many-levels.
