It is used as an ingredient in the two new drinks as follows:

Oriaas Nostrum
25 HP/End/Mana
10 AC
10 All Saves
5 All Stats
Weight 0.7

(Quinine, Soda Water, Permafrost Crystals, Gargoyle Eye, Vodka)

Raediva Nostrum
25 HP/End/Mana
10 Attack
10 All Saves
5 All Stats
Weight 0.7

(Quinine, Soda Water, Fine Bone Chips, Arnworth, Vodka)

Trivial was 160 for both, I believe.

I made the quinine using the recipe above, and it worked. Then I used that to make the two drinks referenced in the patch message. It uses relatively easy to farm stuff, and you don't need to be uber to farm it if you go to the right spots. The drinks are pretty nice for the effort involved. In fact the drinks eclipse any other drink you can get in Norrath that I know of. See the EQ message boards link here: http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=30052. You will need to do some subcombines, which you will need to look up on EQ traders elsewhere because this is not the usual recipe page where everything is listed in a drop down box. This recipe is so new, it was only posted hours ago.

I looked for it on vendors in POK. I tried the Alchemy, Poison, Brewing, Baking, and some of the General Supplies vendors, and did not see it. I looked for it in the Abysmal Sea as well. I looked on the same types of vendors, and no luck. I may have missed it, but doubt it. I arranged the stock list alphabetically, and found various q items, but no quinine.

For what it is worth, if I bring up the buyer window in the bazaar, I cannot list Quinine as an item I wish to buy which makes me think that Quinine may not exist in game at all at this time. If it is tradeable, and is in game, I would think you could buy it through a buyer in the bazaar. Maybe this will be corrected in a patch.
