who ever said that Sk's were the 2nd best tanks in the game, what about pallys? there pretty hight up there
RE: acclaimed?

I say that SKs are the second best tanks in the game. They have spells specifically for drawing aggro (in addition to raising their own AC and/or ATK). Paladins are better to have in a dungoen, though, since SK's lull spells are limited to undead of certain levels. Also, if the SK really needs to get the monster off of a group member, a Harm Touch should be enough of a taunt.

whoa... sk's better for holding agro? have an SK chain cast what ever spell he wants... and then have a paladin group heal and chain stun... the paladin will never.. NEVER lose agro... I've never lost agro while chain stunning, while i see sk's lose agro all the time to clerics/ druids (whoever healer is). I've had wizards sitting there chain nuking and i wont lose agro! I've never seen an SK do that. Also if a paladin does lose agro a quick Lay hands should be enough of a taunt. Paladins can also heal themselves in many cases, not in the upper level planes but in most other cases they can which keeps agro off the healer in that sense, also have yaulp which is a nice atk/ac buff for 1 mana. But no other tank can out agro a paladin who is chain stunning (and out upper level stuns cost the same as our lower level stuns. )

Not to mention SK

I would also think Shadowknights, the acclaimed 2nd highest tank in the game, could wear their own racial plate armour....

OK, Question for those rare people who have one.. did they update the Classes who can wear this to include Gnome Paladins? Would make sense IMO

Yes, it is now wearable by Warrior, Cleric, Paladin and Shadow Knight. Still gnome only though =)
Effect?

what's the exact effect of this thing?
RE: Effect?
# Oct 06 2001 at 3:39 PM Rating: Decent
The effect is simply invisibility. The kicker is it can be recharged. :)
Doubt You will see one for sale..

Cost is extremely prohibitive on these.

Requirements: Diamond and Haze Panther eye to make invis device. 1 out of 40 make at 170 Skill. Then you get to attempt the Bp when you are done failing those. (They burn the diamond on failures) The bp is another 1 in 40 attempt at 170. (the Vanishing device vanishes on failures)

You figure up the cost

Ummm well duh, you expect alot of success trying 250 trivial items at 170 skill? Try paying a GM tinkerer and giving him the gear to combine for you.
Its the thought

It's the idea of running around in full Watchman armor that enticed me into my first gnome warrior. Now It's one of my favorite classes to play due to the originality of it. It's a lot better than all those darn halfling druids running around.

A little off point but... Woodelf druids are many times more common then halflings.
I think mana batteries are stackable items... WOOT for gnome

I'm pretty sure that the various mana batteries are stackable items. That means that a gnome with some clockwork armor could carry around some of the different batteries and a toolbox, and recharge their items on-the-fly.
Rechargeable?

Is this manabattery rechargeable?

How do you recharge it?
RE: Rechargeable?
# Sep 25 2001 at 9:49 PM Rating: Decent
BP + Class 5 Mana Battery in Toolbox = recharged BP

Same as all other Clockwork Watchman gear. Congrats whoever made this! Insanely hard to do so....
RE: Rechargeable?
# Sep 26 2001 at 3:04 PM Rating: Excellent
We have a gnome on Brell Serilis that reguarly makes and sells this armor (among other tinkered items like Rebreathers) to whoever can afford them. I believe this BP would cost the upwards of 15k.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 25 2001 at 3:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Would be better if it had unlimited charges... or better yet for Verant if you can only use it every 30 minutes. or hour.
RE: Cool for gnomes
# Sep 25 2001 at 5:26 PM Rating: Default
It would be better if, like everyone else's Cultural Amour, it had even just a few stats...

Oh well, get some Enchanted Brellium from your local Dwarven Smith.
RE: Cool for gnomes
# Sep 25 2001 at 6:28 PM Rating: Decent
Well you missed the reason of why a Gnome cleric/warrior would want one of these. 10 charges of invisibility. Rechargable by anyone with no skill in tinkering even needed.

So overall this is a great utility item, although very limited because not many people play Gnome clerics/warriors.

Thats really the whole point. Verant's strategy has always been to entice people to the less played class/race combos with cool gear. Silksteel, this, Shield of the Staltwart seas, etc. Its all the same, and it all makes sence.
