The modern alchemy potions have a set casting level built in which controls the run speed you get from the potion's Spirit of Wolf (or Pack Spirit) buff.

Philter of the Wolf I  : 40 (+35%)  single    75       0.544 
Philter of the Wolf II : 42 (+40%)  single   100       1.832 
Philter of the Wolf III: 43 (+45%)  single   135       2.619 
Philter of the Wolf IV : 45 (+52%)  single   170       4.457 
Philter of the Wolf V  : 46 (+55%)  single   210       6.819 
 
Mist of the Wolf I     : 43 (+45%)  group    250       8.919 + Robust Shadow Essence 
Mist of the Wolf II    : 46 (+55%)  group    290      11.019 + Exceptional Shissar Blood

Philter of the Wolf V is the potion to make. The lesser potions are only if you lack cash or alchemy skill. The single-target Philter potions use all store-bought components, while the group Mist potions require farming drops. These potions are useful for characters under level 51 who don't yet have run speed AA.

According to EQ Traders, Philter of the Wolf I increases your speed 35%, II increases your speed by 40%, III bumps your speed by 45%, IV by 52%, and Philter of the Wolf V increases run speed by 55%.

Don't know when that was last updated. SOE could have nerfed the potions since then.

That is correct according to the information provided here, as PotW I is casted as a level 10, II as 20, III as 30, IV as 45, and V as 60, and the effect is 34% at Level 9 to 55% at Level 50.

Can anyone please tell me the different between Philter of the Wolf I-V? There isn't a level restriction, do they change run speeds? If so, does anyone know what % for each level potion?

This may provide an answer: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=278;page=1;howmany=50#113314308229181. In it the poster explains that SOW speed is dependent on the caster. So even though the Philters are all casting SOW, I would guess that a Philter of the Wolf I results in a slower run speed than Philter of the Wolf II, and PotW II is less than level III, and so on up to PotW V. Obviously someone needs to do the experiment to prove or disprove my hypothesis, and determine the exact speed increases.
