With a raw skill of 306, I failed at this about twenty times before success. You get all the ingredients back upon failure, so it doesn't cost anything apart from the annoyance of having to click-click-click...etc until you've made it at least once.

There have been a couple of recipes that incorporate multiple "failures" into the recipe. It looks like this is one for the purpose of simulating the whipping of the products as mayonnaise is made.
