Just thought I'd state something I checked up on the other day =). All of the Grandmaster stuff and all of the Plane of Air Tests, add in some decent Old Sebilis items and your monk is close to 190 Strength, with around 150 Agility, and AC up the kazoo. Please correct me if I'm wrong, its been a while since I checked this all out, and I cant remember the exact numbers... BTW I dont mean Grandmaster Chestwraps, they suck. They are only good for switching in to heal yourself between fights to take a load off of the Clerics and also for in between kills soloing. I used a Robe of the Whistling Fists in my statistics because it owns. 40 to strength and 25% haste is hard to pass up. This full suit here would also be about 65% haste =P (25% from Robe, 41% from Plane of Air Belt). Now all I have to do is get out of freakin 45 and I'll be back on the road to getting it =D
wow mala...if your haste works like that on your server im moving!...last i known of *and sure it still holds true* you only utilize the highest worn hate%...not all added =p
I highly doubt you'll be wearing the robe of the whistling fists if you do all the PoA quests... kindly include epic there, because it owns more, and replace chest slot with something out of DN or better.
And don't forget the PoA quest belt involves clearing all of PoA. It's not like everyone and their mother will have one :)
On the original topic: This headband is the velious equivalent to the kunark crescent headband.
guys, right quick did calculations for the full set of gm. Here are the raw numbers:
ac58 hp160 sr42 dx8 sa13 ag22 ch0
m11 f11 p11 c11 d11 wt1.1
Now assuming that raw ac and ag translate up higher that makes
ac@1.5 = 87 @2.0 = 116
ag@1.5 = 33 @2.0 = 44
The other stats I think are direct transfers and don't need modifiers the full suit is nice at wt 1.1 however for a full suit the resists suck, for a full suit the ac sucks, for a full suit for a MONK theres not a lot of DEX, AGI, STR, AC. This i think is shameful since these stats are the same as the planar armour from POG. Notice that all this gear is magical and not just cloth. Which means it is supposed to have a magical dweomer. For a magical dweomer from a planar stand point it's pathetic. I agree with each of you that there are much better items and it would seem that whoever made this eq was actually going back to prekunark standards for monk. Remember the sashes and headbands? Shocking. Feel free to correct any of the math. It's still quite pathetic.
For one thing tho...I'm not the richest monk around...I'd gladly take these over Wu's and Cured silk...so if you come across any of the gems...you can give them to me :D
Am I the only one who likes strength? Don't get me wrong.. I go for haste, ac, and hp/sta first. But strength is next for me. Strength adds to ATK, which means you miss less often. I agree the ac isn't so hot on this, considering the crown you can "borrow" from the king in lguk would be better, imho. Anyways.. yeah is there even a point to adding +2 to resists? Sure it all adds up.. but.. why do monks always get screwed over? =/
This seems to be one of the lower end velious quest items one can recieve. yippeee crappy ac and ooh +9 str bonus. (easy enough to get a str buff, and at the level you get this str doesnt mean all that much) the sv's are nice, but really. I think they can up the ac a bit to make this item seem worthy of attaining. ac 6 is just plain ridiculous for amonk of high level.
