Has a procrate mod of +90%, which explains why it has a low weapon damage. If you have Weapon Affinity and either SpellCasting Fury or Ingenuity though, you could put out some impressive blast-chains.
Small point.

Harder to cast spells between swings

The chances are in some of the encounters now that if your MTing ( As a Knight ) that if your weapons delay is long enough to cast a spell between swings your either dead or blowing hideous ammounts of mana just to keep aggro.
Which means you wont be hitting the mob any way.

To me this has the perfect Delay.
You gain full 2h slash dmg which other weapons are too fast to give.
For instance I play a SK and one of my weapons is
The Opal "pet proc" longsword.
Great stats ,handy proc...terrible ratio.
If this was SLOWER at 28 I would be very content.
Now how about SoE putting some Augs in that slow you weapons.

So, why would it matter.
Ages ago, around velious I believe, knights spells and swings were changed.
Instead of the timer continuing while you cast, wasting swings, you cast, and the next swing in line waits until the spell is done casting.
No need to worry about getting a slow delay at all for casting in between.

what a nice proc on that weapon, good for tanking as a WAR or PAL SHD and having Proc AA maxed ^-^ also you could put another proc in that bad boy.

its a little quick for a pally/SK imo. Harder to cast spells between swings and such. It would shine as a warrior's DPS weapon though for on raids and such, since warriors should have max WA by the time they get this.

Because VP was updated/revamped a few weeks ago, its now an Elemental Planes (ish) raid/quest zone, with upgraded loot. Way to keep up with patch messages :)

Casting inbetween spells is such a dated stratagy. Like back when people still used fine steel weapons and gear like this one were UBER!!

These days tho knights have much better weapons available to them and so much faster. If your worried by a low delay don't look at it as no i would'nt be able to cast spells inbetween swings and look at the delay more in terms of the damage bonus. It has been my experience that any delay under 28 the damage bonus is signifigantly lower then weapons with a delay above 28. 35 dm bonus on a 28 dly is still pretty nice.

My 2cp
Grimolkin Dragonsfyre

I meant to say 28 and not 29. i used to use Greater stormwatcher horn and did some nice dps with it.

Nowdadays tho i use Cudgel of venemous hatred aug'd with a bloodstone of force. 47dm/28dly = 180+ DPS with 10% worthe of strikethrough items i'm told thats friggin uber for an sk.

huh? The sweet spot for delay is 28 (under 29 if you noticed). The damage bonus is 35 with 28 delay. If you slow down to a 35 weapon, your damage bonus is only 38. So, for 7 more delay, you only get 3 more damage. Your experience is short sighted.

If you go below the 28 though, things get bad fast - 25 delay is 14 damage bonus.

(the bonuses mentioned above are for level 65)

I wouldn't mind this for my zerker.

actually its 28 not 29. Plus fast wepons like this are actually better then some of the slower ones if you have high atk, the monk wep fiery staff of zha(35/20) parses for about 200dps on a decently geared monk with high atk.

from my understanding the higher your attack rating goes the more ratio wins and damage bonus begins to play a much smaller role, while low delay will lose significant DPS below 1500atk at 1800+ it really becomes not a big deal from what I have heard. also about the CoVH from time the delay is insignificant, it's a 1h weapon so DB remains the same regardless of the delay.

Just a wee bit of info ide like to add... With a sword at this speed, theres no doubt it wouldnt be a very nice asset to a character. Now, if you read the post somewhere up there, they said...
... if your weapons delay is long enough to cast a spell between swings your either dead or blowing hideous ammounts of mana just to keep aggro
Well, just a heads up to ya, If your burning tons of mana on one stun per 1 or 2 swings, you need to get some more mana. At lvl 63 i cant go through a bar of mana in normal fights... a named maybe, if im tripple stunning maybe.. but the delay on most "High delay weapons" is around 40.. not 140... Also, haste has a much greater effect on slower weapons, a 40 delay would become a 20 delay with a 100% haste, where as a 30 delay wep would be a 15 or so delay wep. First reason is because of the delay cap, can only go to about 14 or 15, your also only losing 15 delay on that, where as 20 for a 40 delay, and for a 25 delay wep, youd only lose about 12 delay. [Gold]Think back to the last major, high end group you were in without an enchanter for haste. [/Navy] Well, once again, im not saying its a bad weapon, its a wonderful weapon, but its not exactly my first choice as a paladin, for you though? Who knows, make your own choice, and stop reading this, go play EQ :P

Happy Hunting!
