I'm not entirely sure The Great Oowomp and Chief Goonda drop this item still, ive camped them for many hours without any headbands. If anyone has any input, please share it! I really need one of these headbands.
Had this drop a few months ago from Oowomp. We camped him for a few hours. (30s group, War, Bard, Druid) Probably killed him 20 times. Most of the time nothing drops. Over the course of the camp we did get a Chipped Bone Bracelet and a Batskull Earring as well.
Too bad the only beneficial spells we get are SpiritArmour and Dead Man/Men Floating.

I've been wearing one of these for a while and it really does make a noticable difference. Chanter haste sucks a lot of mana and this adds atleast a few minutes. The stats aren't great but I'll probly wear this until atleast 45 =)
HEhe....got real lucky and found this at a merchant in G-fay for 20 pp. Someone must have sold it to the merchant. So, if you ever find one of these on a merchie pick it up cause you can resell it a lot higher in the bazaar.
I have just noticed how nice this item has become on my 45 Enchanter, All his Buffs now last 15% longer this includes all Haste Spells and Mind Enhancer Spells like Clarity/Enlightenment and other buffs, especially from the dent Hasting the group does it should save me 15% more mana to spend on mezzing the Mobs, very nice item now IMHO.

If u don't see me online but want the item, e-mail me at "evil@rescueteam.com". HOWEVER, please be aware that I will probably sell this by the end of APRIL, 2002, so don't send me tells after that. THANX!
The savants cap has the same stats, it's lighter, it's also usable by all/all and it costs less so if you are in the market to buy get the savants cap instead.

stats on both are the same however the savant cap has focus effect of reagent conservation where the batfang has extended enhancement II.... now while for most casters this focus effect might be a minor consideration, for an Enchie the focus effect is much nicer than any of the other stats. This will effectively reduce almost 100% of combat situation spells mana costs by 15% (if the effect lasts longer you do not have to cast as often thus mana saved)

You could solo him once if your lay hands is available and if you catch him before he summons his pet. Otherwise you are probably toast. This is coming from a 47 Paladin with average equipment for my level who usually has to root him to drop back and heal mid-fight.
Wait a few levels and you can solo the whole camp :)

ummm... I'm currently soloing this camp at lvl 36, so yes, you could do it at 42. I'm a monk equipped with a wu's trance stick (7 18 fx:83DD spell) and a Centi Warhammer (15 32 and some other stats) me agility's 141 and dex is at 121 and I can take oowoomp no problem. Only trouble I have is his friends, so take them out first. (it really helps having Feign Death :-)) the only main problem is ugrak's Harm Touch which does an instant 241 damage and can only be resisted with his MR or if you're about 15+ levels higher than the mob. You need Cold Resistance and Poison Resistance for Oowoomp's frost line of spells and poison line, as he cast them each about 3 times...

Was camping the Chief in WK last night. Me and a ranger friend killed the shaman just for fun, and the headband dropped off of one of the shaman. So it CAN drop from them too. 40 ranger and 40 wiz, ranger was using Harmony to keep us from getting more than one at a time. By the way, the ogre guards were very green to us, but their Harm Touch was still impressive. 200-300 a pop. Pretty nasty for a teen size mob. Don't take them lightly, especially if you have low HPs.
