If you ONLY had you epic and no better wep. your extremely uber guild would not even bother taking you on this raid. This guy is probably the hardest mob in the game right now.

he's second hardest mob in game right now. there is one mob someone (forget where) that makes this zone look like a noob zone.

Ok first of all *NOTHING* that exists in the game can make ssra look like a newb zone. NOTHING.

Take aten ha ra. double .. triple his power. Emp is still not a noob zone.

As for this mob you speak of, im not sure what your talking about. Most people consider Emp the hardest mob in the game, over aten ha ra.

Seru MIGHT be harder because of the bane damage stuff, but i've never really heard someone worth listening too (like furor or a triton/magister etc person, not a_random_level_30) compare the challenge between Emporer and Seru and Aten.

the sleeper has 3.2 BILLION hp and regens about 2 million a tick. hes lvl 75 and NEVER been killed, not even conquest got him (the lame hacker guild who exploited the zone). hes resistant to EVERY magic spell and most people probably cant even land a decent hit with a wep on him. as in you're dead be4 you get 10hp taken off of him. now ask yourself......how is something thats never been killed even compare to ssra?

conclusion: SSRA'S A ***** NEXT TO SLEEPER THUS SSRA BETTER GO RUNNING TO MOMMMY WHEN HE SEES
SLEEPER!

Yes, Sleeper is unkillable, although it may not remain so forever

Oh man, I'm SO sick of all these posts about the sleeper being so big and almighty.

I post this next part in caps, because I feel it's vaguely important:

THE SLEEPER WAS NEVER DESIGNED TO NOT BE KILLED, JUST LIKE ALL THE NEXUS SCIONS, SOULBINDERS, POK NPCS*, ETC.

The sleeper was not designed to be fought and killed. he is just a show; a script.

The emp WAS designed to be killed, so he is chanllenging but not impossible.

So comparing fighting the sleeper to the emp is comparing apples to oranges. This is a game, they could make an unkillable moss snake if they wanted, that doesn't make it the hardest mob in the game.

The emp is high end content, the sleeper is a once in a server script event, he was made unkillable so not to mess up the script.

So why don't we all go post about how unkillable the nexus scions and soulbinders are (its just an example)! because they were designed to be as killable at the sleeper

and BTW, look through the lucy spell database and PLEASE show me a DT spell with a zone wide raidus, DT (aka lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=982&source=Live Cazic Touch, hmmm maybe because CT was the first mob to have this ability??) caps at 20k and there is no AE version. Prove me wrong.

and the HP debate? know why he has such high hp? thats right! BECAUSE HE IS NOT A MOB TO KILL FOR HIGH END RAIDING CONTENT, IE HE IS NOT MEANT TO BE FOUGHT.

---

*I know of the bug when people could kill pok/nexus/bazaar npc's, so save yourself the time and don't remind me.

Why are stupid people like you still allowed to breath?

CQ was in sleepers farther then anyone had ever gotten at that point. Hacker guild? What did they hack? Do you even know what they "exploited" ?

I love it when tarded children come talking smack about things they know nothing about.

Sony removed the guild ban because they knew they were wrong in the ban in the first place.

Then CQ came back, most of them with no chars (deleted), for the most part all of them with No AA (they left before AA was introduced) and managed to lvl up, AA up, gear up and fly through pop to time in less time then any other guild Game wide. They also went from Entering time to Quarm dead in less time then any other guild game wide.

So, how about you stfu you jealous little child?

PS they were "sploiting" by using rez effects to resist the slow a/e from 3rd warder. They didn't wake the sleeper, the gms on at the time spazzed and set off the script waking sleeper. Also proving that the script at that time was unfinished.

Had the script been complete I doubt they would have been banned, at worst prolly a warning. Their tactics were in fact ingenius and something sony hadn't considered. The only reason they were banned was they were about to prove that sony releases expansions long before they are finished (at the time no one knew this), which the gms then accidently did.

WOOT, finally someone else that knew the whole story, heh..... was on that server when all that b.s. happened, Conquest (though i still like their old name of Soul Assassins, dunno why they got forced to change it *shrug*) is what every "uber" guild in-game aspired to be. Hrm, if they are back though... may have to go back to that server see how they are faring ;p

we'll they were going to kill him until the gm's stopped it.

What they where doing was not an Exploit at the time, but after that it was. Just because no one thought about doing it before.

However, the gm desided to ban the whole guild, which was just wrong.

Such of loss to Lanys ...it has never really recovered from the lost of the Apha Uper eshlon players.

God enough about the sleeper allready! If I see one more post about it I'm gonna scream! Sleeper is a unkillable mob, I repeat, UNKILLABLE! And besides, I hear VI took him out of the game from some servers that have woken him up, is this true? And I don't want to see any more posts about veeshan either, you know what I'm talking about! and no this isn't no stinking monk item! And oh yeah, if I had this sword, I'd also be running around killing every single mob and npc I see. Sure I'd probably die a few times trying to solo everything in sight, but I'd be having fun and that's the whole point of playing games, to have fun :P

I was wondering when a post like this was going to show up Smiley: smile
Yes, Sleeper is unkillable, although it may not remain so forever. That doesn't mean that someday a guild will learn how to kill him, more that someday Verant may change his stats and remove his rediculous level of Regen that basically makes him invulnerable.

Oh and the banned, exploiting guild was Conquest and the "alledged" exploit was on Warders, not on Kerafyrm.

I have to disagree with you on one thing tho'

This is obviously a monk weapon Smiley: grin

Um. O Great Sage, it is not only the case that neither Guild nor Man will ever kill the Sleeper. For yea, verily, is it that, while indeed does the Sleeper have 99 million hit points

And yea indeed, does the Sleeper have a death-touch with zone-wide radius

And yea, indeed, is the fight against the 4th Warder a pain in the *** (BTW - grats to Chakan on Luclin for holding the door. I remember that...)

But yea, truly and verily will any guild who downs the 4th warder only get ONE SHOT at him.

And that's with clerics nearly oom.

So, while I hate to be a party pooper, it won't happen. Sorry. :)

Sage isn't a title I asked for, Eater of Soles.
As for the rest of your post, riiiiight...

99 Million HP's? Anyone got any proof? I thought the integer was much lower than that.

Zone wide DT? Zone wide Aggro radius, yes. Death Touch the whole zone at once? Nah, I don't think so.

Will Kerafyrm ever be killed? No, not in present state, the Sleeper is meant to be unkillable but that doesn't mean that SOE won't amend that although it is more than likely that Kerafyrm will be put back to sleep as a one off Quest rather than a mob to take down.

First off, you can't trade a no drop weapon. =) Second, the recommended level means if you're under level 60 and you equip this sword, you will not get the full stat bonuses that come with the sword. Also, just a guess, but I don't think it would proc below 60 either.

/bow to anyone who owns this sword. Amazing, simply amazing.

I think when darkelwar asked about trading, he was talking in general, not necessarily this specific item. But, you're mostly right. No, if you're not of sufficient level to fully wield an item, the effect won't work either. Some people have argued that the Earring of the Solstice effect works at 45, but I find it kind of hard to really test an FT1 item. There is a further caveat to Recommended levels though. While some items nerf stats if you're below the level, other items are completely unequippable (this I know from first-hand experience). Fortunately, I think all new PoP items with required levels (ie, non-equippable if below a certain level) now state it up front.

The stats listed above is incorrect.
I got this sword yesterday and it has the following stats:
Dam 52 del 42 dambonus: 34
Magic dam:+2
Extraplannar: +7
20 STR, 20 DEX, 20 STA, 18 WIS, 18 INT
125 HP, 125 Mana
10 sv ALL.
Proc is still serpents bite. 100 hp lifetap that is unresistable. At least after one full day I have seen 0 resists and all hit for full damage.

Indeed, lifetaps are unresistable, which is why we melees love them. And yes, it now has the Nature's Defender graphic. I've been playing with my Sword of Ssraeshza for two days now, and it's definitely not shy about proccing. The +2 magic damage and extra +25hp/mana that were added sometime between the last time I saw a screenshot of it and the second that I looted it have gone a long way to making this sword a keeper. I am very happy with it. I was willing to tuck away my Tunare sword for this or Goldenrod, but now that I have this, there's nothing I've seen so far that I'd take to replace it.

Notice something...

52 damage + 34 Damage bonus (level 60) +7 damage in the planes.

... Ninety-four damage and fourty-two delay.

FREAK OUT.
RE: Crapola.
# Jan 02 2003 at 4:48 PM Rating: Default
Ok, lets do this.

The basic damage formula for the tank classes works something like this:

(Weapon_DMG + Bane_DMG + Elemental_DMG)*(STR + Weapon_Skill / 100) + damage_bonus = maximum_hit.

Bane_DMG is applied against the particular type of mob involved. Elemental_DMG is applied providing the mob fails the appropriate save.

Applying this to the output of this particular weapon (assuming that STR and Weapon_Skill are 255) we get a damage output of 299 on a max hit at level 60, or 334 vs. extraplanar creatures.

Ooops and i dont know if thats is as hard as you would hit ask a real level 60 warrior with 250 str because i am only 36 warrior with 169 str or was it 171?
RE: Crapola.
# Jul 12 2002 at 9:32 PM Rating: Decent
OK with this 34 dmg bounous it would mean 52 at first that for a level 60 warrior with 250 str( thats the soft cap right?) would hit for with only 52 dmg would be hitting for 250+ then add the 34 dmg bounus on the max with that you would hit for around 700+ because 6 dmg is a lot!! thx for reading ;)
RE: Crapola.
# May 22 2002 at 10:11 AM Rating: Default
That's not how damage bonuses are calculated. I'm not sure on the Bane DMG (I think it is added DMG on the weapon), but for the bonuses, it's added after the fact. So, if you hit for 1 damage with a damage bonus of 34 it totals to 35 damage. Therefore, the least possible amount you could hit for would be the Damage bonus + 1.
RE: Crapola.
# Jun 25 2002 at 4:29 AM Rating: Decent
When you hit it is for (in general, avg, so on) 2x the base dmg of the weapon. The Bane dmg is part of this I am told. ( Not sure). So, with this ( (52+7)x2 +34 ) = 142. Then, Tis modified by Str and other factors. Eh.

On PvP guilds can be ambushed when Raiding Ntov or Ssra or Sky and training is ok. Now when i look at a guild like Afterlife which posts posts that say things like a day in the life of afterlife and they have 19 big mobs downed it makes me think, wow what a bunch of pansy *** jabronies. I read through all of this. SOme weapons are not worth the effort to get. Even if this is one of them, don't go get it. After you got in here, killed the emperor, looted and whined, ask yourself this: What makes you think you got all of his drops? Perhaps this sword will be of use later.

For anyone complaining and saying I hope verant reads this and fixes the stats, I got one thing to say. Go to everquest.com and post there in the developers corner. Then a developer will read it and maybe it will change. Verant is not going to check this site for what you want. Get over yourselves.

Furor, from what I seen, your guild is one of the higher end ones. From what I seen, your guild is alot like one on my server. They are called Enlightened Dark. Get off your ivory tower and realize things may be set one way for a reason. Perhaps if guilds like yours didn't waken the sleeper, weapons like this could be what is needed to bring it down? So quit complaining, realize it is a game, and have fun with it. So the loot sucked in your opinion. Didn't you have some fun getting to that point? If not, maybe you should leave Norrath for good.

Well, he is just an idiot who thinks that Verant is against him. LMAO. talk about insecurity.

The guy has no life and has taken this game far too seriously.

I admit he is a good guild leader, with an excellent members. But, he has just lost the plot overall. He has criticised every drops from Luclin because the stats are not to HIS liking.

I don't think he realises that the game was not made for HIM.

You guys check their website and read their news about their raids. I'll let you be the judge.

If you want a good guild who care little about loot, try Triton, Vane, and Prophecy. These guild may not be as big as Afterlife or FoH, atleast they know what the game is all about (just from my observation).

That's my flame for tonight, now, HIT ME!

P.S. Great item! next time FoH whine about this kind of item, I'll ask them to let me loot it, to save them having to cry and whine how lousy it is.

Ya, I read the website.. Sounds like a bunch of whiney *** babies. Glad I don't play on his server..

He needs a game like Diablo that he can just hex edit and put in his own stats, then he'd prolly be happy.
RE: Furor...
# May 02 2002 at 10:33 PM Rating: Default
Actually, the game WAS made for him, as well as everybody else who plays this game.

Verant isn't catering well to the very high end SoL encounters, and I can definetely understand Furor's reason to be upset with this. His guild, probably the top guild on any server, had to spend a couple months in order to be able to just attempt to kill this guy, and they go and get a weapon that's about the same as Palladius Axe of Slaughter (from NToV, undoubtedly MUCH easier to get than this).

Verant needs to shape up and fix high-end Luclin encounters or they'll risk losing a lot of the high-end people. Yes, I agree, EQ gets new people every day, but that doesn't mean they should spend all their time fixing low-end content. Fix the high-end content that you just put in that was supposed to be balanced but wasn't.
RE: Furor...
# May 02 2002 at 10:52 PM Rating: Decent
Verant made the game for the people who are up for the challenge. Thats how the game was made. People who whine and cry about Risk vs. Rewards are people who are spoiled and thinks that every thing they kill must have a weapon of their dream. Get over it. You play the game the way it was made by the developer. You make sacrifices by wasting a fraction of your time by playing this game, ignoring social life. If you think that game is not rewarding for you enough, then, it is simple, just QUIT! Why must you have to show your insecurity to everyone over a game?

If the developer decided to increase every stats of high end mobs, the loses it's balance. Where is the challenge then? And, you can't expect the Developer to make new zones every time a guild kills a high end mob.

If verant isn't catering well, then why continue playing? Are you people that addicted over the game and dont have enough will to quit?

Verant DO work hard in trying to cater for everyone. It is how they make money. If they don't, they risk losing customers. Problem is, they can't please everyone.

How can you be so sure the game is not balance in the high end zones? Is it because you read a lot of FoH frustration on their forum? The game is balance, they are just too greedy over loot. And, it hurts their EGO when they see an item drop that is not to their liking.

Honestly if you were in a guild capable or near capable of doing the emperor and had done this huge time sink of a key quest, then you would know full well how disapointing this drop is, especially to people who use two-handers as their prime means of damage dealing.
And no some poeple don't want to quit. I enjoy playing this game and I have spent a great deal of time getting keys to do the emperor. I am very disapointed by this drop and several others that he drops. I would think something that takes months to get to and then more time to kill properly would have better items than North Temple of Veeshan. Any joe-scmoe guild worth his salt can kill dragons in NToV and get items equivalent to this and not have to spend months getting keys for the zone(see my point here?).

Before you call everyone whiners and tell them to suck it up or leave, why don't you take a moment and think about what they are complaining about and why they are complaining. As it stands with this sword they have every right to complain.

Conanan, what makes you think I am not a member of a guild not capable of killing the emperor? I did not mention those 3 guild from my previous post for no reason.

The problem with people who complain about the loot are people who expects too much from the game. And expects that every drop by high end mobs to be the item of their dream. Snap out of it!

Exactly what stats did you want on the items drop?

If you complain so much about the loot of high end mobs of Luclin and how time consuming it is to gather up the necessary keys, then why not go back to ST or NToV? That way, you don't have to worry about time sink. Like you said, the items drop in NToV is equivalent to high end Luclin mobs.

I call them whiners because they are. Honestly, why get yourself so worked up over a loot and then make a big deal over it by blaming the Devs?

Maybe next time Verant should just make every drop with blank stats with a message "Fill in your desired stats on the dotted line", Maybe that would make you happy?

Anyway, I'll make this my last thread about this topic. It is a kind of arguement that will never end. I've wasted enough time flaming loot hogs. ;)

The game not only for people that need a challenge but people that cant do anything and have disabilities. like being not be able to walk. So if you just dont like it then quit, its not that hard. other people might think this game makes my life more fun.

Actually, I was thinking the stats should be much beafier, and then the recommended level should be 65 or so, so these are the stats you get if a PC wields it, but during the encounter it's much nastier. )
Nice!

you would think that furor would like this sword considering the extraplaner bane damage, furor's last name after all is Planedefiler.....

I don't know if anyone else figured this out but it becomes a 59/42 wpn. That's a ratio of .711, talk about godly. Now I'm not sure about this but isn't that one of the best ratios in the game?

try the Petrified Heartwood Flamberge, drops off of Tunare, 50dmg/35dly...better than this by a bit in my opinion

RE: WOW

It only becomes 59/42 against mobs flagged as extraplanar... Planes of Power expansion maybe?
RE: WOW

I'd figure ANY extraplanar creature (Hate, Air, etc.) - And obviously a lead-in to PoP. I'd imagine we can look forward to more weapons with Extraplanar Bane Damage.

If so, this is like the uber plane-raiding sword. Get behind the guy holding this thing and I think you'll be alright.

It's not that hard to guess what this weapon is a lead-in for, with an Extraplanar of +7....

*edit* well I was certainly wrong a year ago wasn't I! Bane damage is pretty pointless after all!

I suspect you'll find it much more painful than this. I think we'll see a mob in Vex Thal (Luclin?) who cannot be damaged except by this sword (due to it's bane dmg). It would follow the model, and would mean you have to be able to drop the emp many times before completing Vex.... Anyone thinking Vertant isn't that mean-spirited? :-/
