Hobbies: Reading, tutoring, EQ Family? Plays EQ too Besides EverQuest, what other MMORPGs have you played? Way back when I played The Fourth Coming. It was similar to EQ (kill mobs, earn money, buy cool gear) but it wasn't as in depth as EQ, and the graphics weren't as good. How did you find out about EverQuest, and when did you begin playing? I found out about EQ from my dad, who had started playing - I created my first character 6 years ago. Do you know anyone in real life who plays EverQuest? My parents and sister for starters. I also live within 15 minutes of my guild leader, his girlfriend and one of the officers in my guild. How did you come up with your main character's name? Le breath de vie - it's a combination of French and English: Le - the, breath, de - of, vie - life. All together: The breath of life, Lebreathdevie. What factors affected your choice of race / class for your main character? Race, I don't remember why I chose High Elf... as for class, I enjoy being in a support role. I'd rather be in the back keeping everything going than be in the front moving everything forward. About how often do you play EverQuest, and how long is a typical playing session for you? Lately, with school and real life creeping in, I play 3 or 4 times a week - usually Sunday and Mondays. Then it's for raids and I'll be on for 6 or 7 hours at a time. During the rest of the week I tend to get on in the mornings and play for a few hours. How do you spend your time in game? Depends on who else is on... if no one else is on, or I'm feeling lazy, I'll trade skill (yes, yes, I know, it's a sickness). If the right people are on, I go kick ass! What other class/race combinations have you levelled past 35? High Elf cleric, Gnome necromancer, Drakkin necromancer (my current alt). I think that's it, really. I'm not much for starting new toons - I'm rather attached to my cleric. Approximately how much of the EverQuest world have you experienced? Oh goodness! I'm not good with math... um... A decent percentage. I've seen most of the old world zones (including original, kunark, and velious), high end PoP, high end OOW, high end GoD, some of the higher end DoN, the group content for DoD (including DSK), and some group content for the more recent expansions. TSS hasn't really grabbed my attention, but I'm enjoying TBS so far. What is your favourite expansion? OOW. I enjoyed the content of OOW. It was challenging without being impossible for the group I played with, and although getting my 1.5 seemed hopeless in the beginning (small family guild doesn't really cut it when it comes to big beefy nameds!) I was absolutely ecstatic when we were finally able to take down the mobs. 16 people to kill the Lesser Faydark fight for the cleric 1.5 is one of my guild's proudest moments. What is your least favourite expansion? DoN. I hate the instances :) The only one I like is the one in Lavaspinners, I think, where you get to crack open drake eggs and see if one pops out. What is your favourite zone? Felwithe, but only the area in the back with the lake. It's such a peaceful area, I likely will build a house on the water there when I'm ready to retire. What is your favourite NPC? Um, I don't think I'm particularly attached to any NPC...perhaps one of the merchants by the oven in Shadow Haven, because they almost always have everything on them that I need to make Misty Thicket Picnics with (unless of course there's been a server reset and they are down to just the bread and milk they are supposed to sell). If the war between Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl erupted again, which side would you take? That would greatly depend on which side of the bed I woke up on that morning... If I was in a good mood, my usual love-to-save-the-world self, then I think I'd lean a little more towards Firiona. If I slept funny and my neck was hurting and I was grumpy, well, then, perhaps not. Describe your most memorable moment or proudest accomplishment in game. I think my most proud moment would be the day we were able to kill Ture. It was an all Disciple of the Night raid, with 23 players in the raid. It took a looooooooooooooooong time to kill her, but in the end we made it. Much of the server refuses to believe it, but I've never been prouder of my guild. It was a serious accomplishment for us, and something that we needed to show ourselves what we are capable of. If you had to start over from scratch, what race/class combination would you choose? If I had to start from scratch, I'd go for a Dark Elf cleric. Variety, I know. But I like the way plate looks on Dark Elves with the flames and all. I'm just too attached to being a cleric to really give that up. How do you describe EverQuest to your coworkers or computer-illiterate friends? "Heard of Dungeons and Dragons?" If the answer is yes, then "Well, it's similar to that, just online." If the answer is no, then "I go around killing monsters." What is next for you in the world of EverQuest? A new breastplate would be nice; mine's a bit covered in blood. Otherwise, a long hard road towards OMM, Vishimtar, and Demi-Plane. ** Pick the winner in a battle between... Grobb vs Ak'Anon - Ak'Anon -- my ogre tank needs to be fed regularly. Giants of Velious vs Akhevans of Luclin - Giants of Velious Saryrn, the Mistress of Pain vs Terris Thule, the Dream Scorcher - Terris Thule Muramites of Discord vs the Drachnids of Darkhollow - Drachnids tradeskilling vs Questing - Tradeskilling!! Instance Zones vs Static Zones - static, most definitely. Monster Missions vs Project M (PvP as Monsters) - Monster missions suck. Soloing vs Pick-Up Groups - Soloing Guild Raiding vs Grouping With Friends - Grouping GM (real people) Events vs Scripted (computerized) Events - Well, it would be nice if the GMs could come up with events that were more creative and involved. Arena fights are ok the first or second time around, but after 30 arena GM events it gets a bit old. Put on a scavenger hunt, or something of that sort... But on the whole, GM events are less buggy and scripted ones! Arena Royal Rumble vs 1-on-1 Duel - Dueling Faydwer vs Odus - Faydwer Kunark vs Velious - Kunark Planes of Power vs Gates of Discord - Planes of Power, I loved fighting in the planes, they were some good times. Depths of Darkhollow vs Omens of War - Omens Bard vs Enchanter - Enchanter; it is fun to watch them die...they look something like this: O-/-< Monk vs Rogue - Monk, good monks are hard to come by... any body can stand back SoS till the last percent of a mob and run in for the kill shot. Paladin vs Warrior - I'm rather partial to warriors. Allakhazam vs Illia - What's Illia?
