Family?
Lots of siblings and their children. Elne Clare is my sweetheart so I also have her children/grandchildren as my family as well.

Besides EverQuest, what other MMORPGs have you played?
I haven't played any. Not really tempted, though I know some folks who play WOW. (Maybe that's why I haven't been tempted. *grin*)

How did you find out about EverQuest, and when did you begin playing?
Elne Clare, and her daughters, had been playing it when I started dating her. I created my first toon in August of 2000.

Do you know anyone in real life who plays EverQuest?
Yes. Elne and I have met Danalog and Kajolus. Plus we run into folks in SF fandom and Renfaire who play EQ.

How did you come up with your main character's name?
Jonwin was named in honor of a certain movie star. Courtin Andidride is from an old folk song. Jonwinnie was so folks on Povar would know I was Jonwin from the boards.

What factors affected your choice of race / class for your main character?
My first toon was a mage, I stopped playing him when research was a block to getting new spells. I next looked at the paladin class and thought I would have fun playing him as a Cowboy type, to the point of creating EQ themed songs to old cowboy songs, and having an incoming cry of "Circle the Wagons or Head for the Hills!". I later created Courtin the cleric just to try out the froglok race. I found that it was easier but more demanding to play than a paladin, so I put a lot of time into him. When I started playing on Povar with Aude Sapere, I started a shaman and made her a troll worshiping Inny for the clicky snare. She was my first foray into the "misunderstood" side of the gods.

Sooner or later I will transfer all my toons to Povar. I dont have any idea who would end up as my main then.

About how often do you play EverQuest, and how long is a typical playing session for you?
I do something in game every day even if it is a quick run to merchant mine or bazaar shop. I usually get in 3 to 4 hours at night when I have time to group or solo.

How do you spend your time in game?
A little bit of everything. I have spent a bit of time in tradeskills, I have a full time bazaar trader and play the market there, and I solo and group. I have been playing the Shaman the most over the last year. At 61 she has been working a bit on epic 1.0, LDoN points for Remove Greater Curse Spell, and just doing exp work. Very few raids, though I do like that part of the game and would like to do more.

What other class/race combinations have you levelled past 35?
Almost as many as Dotlbe! (No not really.) Two paladins, Human 56 and Gnome 51. Froglok Cleric 60, Troll Shaman 61, Halfling Rogue 42, Human Ranger 40.

Approximately how much of the EverQuest world have you experienced?
Most of the old world as that was the only expansion I had for the first 3 years of playing the game. With the shaman, about 30 percent of Kunark, 45 percent of Velious. Very little in the way of GoD, OOW or Raid content.

What is your favourite expansion?
I like Luclin, as it offered the Bazaar and more mobility, even if you had to wait 15 minutes for the portals. It still has great zones that I need to visit. I would then say Velious. Courtin had a lot of fun doing the prayer shawl quest. He may even finish it some day.

What is your least favourite expansion?
I would have to say Prophecy of Ro as I don't have it yet. Really, I enjoy a lot of the content in all the expansions I have.

What is your favourite zone?
Stonebrunt Mountains. I was thrilled the first time I zoned into it as Jonwin, level 35 paladin. All my toons spend the 20s through the 30's in the zone. It has nice tasks, lovely scenery, a positive ZEM and all those quality pelt drops for my tailors and smith!

What is your favourite NPC?
Fippy Darkpaw. Both my first toon, a mage, and Jonwin started in Qeynos. Need I say more?

What is your favourite raid encounter (if different from NPC)?
Of the few raids I have been in on, I would say Grummus.

If the war between Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl erupted again, which side would you take?
Firiona Vie. Most of my characters are KOS the the Dark Elves.

Describe your most memorable moment or proudest accomplishment in game.
To show you how old school I am, it would be making my first piece of the Armor of Ro for paladins (Helm of Ro - AC 13, Wisdom 8). I did most of the quest work for the mobs and ingredients on my own. (BIG tip of the helm, however, to members of Jonwin's first guild, Revered Souls on the Morell-Thule server for the help in Mistmoore.)

What is the largest amount of platinum you have ever had at one time, and how did you go about accumulating it?
On my Erollisi Marr toons I have about 100k. I got this through playing the Bazaar, buy low - sell high. It helps to leave your trader up when at work!

What are some things you would change or implement in order to improve EverQuest?
It is frustrating to not be able to get a few of my high 50s spells without a long time spent camping certain mobs. (Lets just say I was very glad Skyfire was a hot zone of late.) I am also tired of folks setting up casinos and selling characters in game.

What types of spells, skills, disciplines, and/or alternate abilities would you like to see added to your class?
I would like to add my support for upgrading the paladin pacify line. No additions for the cleric or shaman jump right to my mind.

If you were responsible for organizing and running a GM event, what would it be and how would it play out?
It would be a puzzle type event. A mental challenge to players as well as a physical challenge to their toons. Something along the trick-or-treat or 3 riddles of the troll events.

If you had to start over from scratch, what race/class combination would you choose?
I would play a cleric or a shaman. As I said above, Cleric is the easiest but most demanding class to play. If my paladin messes up he dies. If the cleric messes up usually I take a few group mates with me. I would think about Shaman, as they are just so versatile. It would definately be a troll for the snare item.

Then again, when I start a Drakkin, the TSS zones look very nice and the quest/task content is drawing me as well, I may again try mage.

How do you describe EverQuest to your coworkers or computer-illiterate friends?
I dont really have too many computer illiterate friends, but I simply say I play a game online with other people. We pretend to be knights, monks or wizards and kill monsters.

What is next for you in the world of EverQuest?
Getting the Shaman epic 1.0, and continue to enjoy the in game chatter and friendships that keep me playing.

** Pick the winner in a battle between...

Felwithe vs Neriak - Who cares? Dead elves are always a good start! (Elne Clare might have a way to make me say Felwithe however.)
Solusek Ro, Lord of Flame vs Karana, the Rainkeeper - Karana! My first toon, the mage Erran Gobragh, worshipped him.
Muramites of Discord vs the Drachnids of Darkhollow - I have no opinion, not having seen much of either of the two.
Tradeskilling vs Questing - Both have their allure for me. I do like making things, but it can be expensive. It was the ongoing quests that, to me, gave a purpose to the game. I still like looking them up and doing them.
Instance Zones vs Static Zones - I have a preference for static, though I enjoy the forays into the instanced zones I have gone into.
Monster Missions vs Project M (PvP as Monsters) - MM's are okay. I dont have much use for PvP.
Soloing vs Pick-Up Groups - Pick up groups are how I started making friends! I am quick to try and put groups together. I must say however the Rogue has 43 levels and almost no group time.
Guild Raiding vs Grouping With Friends - This is a bit of a push. My friends happen to be in the guilds I belong to, but neither is big enough to raid on our own. Most of the grouping I do on Povar is with the Aude folks, or our allies. It is the interpersonal action that keeps me playing.
GM (real people) Events vs Scripted (computerized) Events - GM events with some thought behind them.
Arena Royal Rumble vs 1-on-1 Duel - Royal Rumble, though I have never been in one.
Faydwer vs Odus - Odus has my favorite zone.
Kunark vs Velious - I have spent a bit of time in both areas. I like them about the same.
Planes of Power vs Gates of Discord - PoP !
Depths of Darkhollow vs Omens of War - DoD
Bard vs Enchanter - Bards are so versatile the only reason I don't play one is a slow computer. Hey wait a minute, I just upgraded my memory!
Monk vs Rogue - Rogue! Just how good is your poison resist there Mr. Monk?
Paladin vs Warrior - Paladin. I don't care if you have more HP than I do. You can't hit me if you are stunned, and you have to kill me twice.
Allakhazam vs Illia - Kaolian sneaks by you both!
