Did I miss something druid are suppose to be doing? Why would a druid want "hate" increased?

Alternatively, if you are soloing you do not care how much the hate is increased and you can use this spell with impunity. Check out the damage / mana ratio.

I quite often aggro kite for my group. That means I snare the mob and keep it mad at me while the group nukes away at it.

There are several druid spells that INCREASE hate. The stun line of spells, the fire line of DoT spells starting with Immolation of Ro, Winter's Flame, and Nature's Blazing Wrath are examples of spells I use to hold aggro when I am kiting a mob. If I am not the kiter, I use those spells sparingly or not at all.

Because I often am the snare puller / kiter, I have no AA's in spell casting subtlety. I lower my aggression by the spells I choose, not by the AA points. I also use one of the "**** 'em off good" spells if I am trying to save the cleric or shaman who has pulled aggro in a group. It's a handy way of saving the cleric / shaman so they can live to heal or slow again.

So yes, a druid DOES sometimes want to increase HATE from a mob.
