This quest begins with Cobi Frostbeard in Thurgadin. He's found in an unmarked shop: After zoning in, cross both bridges, turn left towards the bank, then (at the bank) hang a right. He'll be in the fifth shop on the left.
You say, 'Hail, Cobi Frostbeard' Cobi Frostbeard says 'Greetings to you. I seek one who calls himself a druid. What do you call yourself, manling?' You say, 'I call myself a druid' Cobi Frostbeard says 'Good. I had hoped you were one. As nature's guardian, you fight the never-ending struggle against those who seek to defile it. It is an admirable quality and I wish to aid you. I will provide you with a cap, a tunic, sleeves, bracers, gloves, leggings and boots.' You say, 'What cap?' (response?) Crushed Onyx Sapphires are dropped in various Velious zones while Eroded Leather armor drops from the higher level giants in Kael Drakkel. Cobi Frostbeard smiles warmly as he hands you your reward. 'You have done well, _____.' Your faction standing with Coldain got better. Your faction standing with Dain Frostreaver IV got better. Your faction standing with Kromzek got worse. I camped kael yesterday alone and with a group of 6 with levels 44-50. Killed several Lt's and Adjudent giants near the EW entrance with no drop of Eroded leather. We proceeded on to the Arena and got slaughtered at the entrance by 4 Red con giants. How can this be a level 45 quest when there is no way to get into the area and get the quest item unless you bring a raiding party? Waaaaaa. I just had to write and complain >8-).
these stones dropped off wyverns just outside cobalt scar druid port wheres the erroded stuff easy to find??

Please make sure you are at least Ally to Cobi before doing the hand-in.

I went to the armory tonite in the throne room of Icewell keep to turn in this helm of rthe graphic one. But when I talked to him this particular cap was not listed. Does anyone know if this is one of the helms that can be turned in to make it graphic?

if its not listed its not a quest. Kinda sucks they dont give druids any cool looking helms but they give every other class a funky looking helm. Oh well, verant forgets about druids AGAIN.

Three crushed Onyx sapphires dropped off the Suits of Sentient Armor in Wakening Lands within 2 hours. Just need the cap now...
eroded leather pieces come from The Giants in City near the Arena May come from other places but have dropped there for sure.
I want one of these bad....but can't kill the needed giants yet.....:(

Leather drops off of level 53 and up Giants. 2 groups minimum are needed of high 50's and the exp sucks so don't go for exp. LOL On yeah.. They don't drop often either.

Not true, they drop off of Giants 46+.... I and a lvl 49 Druid were camping giants with a 58 War and 55 Wizzy in Kael yesterday (8/15/01). All the giants we pulled were either blue or green to me. Eroded leather sleeves dropped off a blue giant -> Gratz to Malilea on the loot =)

Does anyone know which pieces drop of which giants in Kael? Are they random? Or are we goin gto have to go in hard for named ones?

The crushed onyx sapphires come from Velkator's Labrynth. I got one off a velium guardian on the first floor and off a named gnoll deep inside. Must be random off any mob in zone.

Gems of this type also drop in Icewell, but be ready to fight your way in here, the guys who have it that I know of are in the maze below the keep, and we had a doozy of a time with a dozen ppl all over 50

Kael Drakkar I believe is what the other poster was indicating. It seems strange they would put all of these quest pieces on the same group of MOBs. I am hoping they drop from others as well

Actually if you think about it really closely, it is not odd at all. The reason being is that this is a Coldain Quest and these Giants have been trying to find the hidden Coldain City for years, they are the sworn enemy of the Coldain.
