The seventh, and most powerful, Monk sash. I am told there is no way to quest for this, since it is only for the monk guildmasters. If you really want one, you will have to kill a monk guildmaster and loot it off of him.

the black sash is only drop by the freeport guildmaster and brother qwynn in south karanas ,
the freepoert monk has a big faction hit and sense the expansion can summon and makes it nearly unkillable. qwynn on the other hand can be kill with one or two groups with a good tank, a bard can use an unresistable magic debuff song and a level 60 shaman debuff further and slow, qwynn also drops quest robe. zephyl and the guildmaster drop headbands. kill zephyl the same way as qwynn for black headband.

The guildmaster is surrounded by other mobs. Clearly you would need to have enchanters to mez the other fellows. Or you could have a group of FD pullers lure the other masters away and then FD pull the grands master. Here's the bad part. I would recommend pulling everything to the zone and mezzing the grandmaster if that's possible. Everything in the guild repops in a matter of minutes of dieing. So you would get back spawn were you to fight inside the guild.

Grand master tactics: if you have some clerics or enchanters who don't care about the faction, have the main tank get chain runed throughout the fight. Have him build up agro and then let the other 20 meleers have at him too. Clerics can also have timed CH on the main tank also. I believe that this process can be repeated since the grand master always has the black sash, qeynos is even easier since the grand master is all by himself.

Im a level 60 Grand Master Myself, And Glox is very tough, I dont even see how you could get 13 groups of 6 in Cabilis. But I do know that when I tried to Solo Glox, *Silly Me*, My *** got scraped all over the place
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 08 2001 at 12:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It is true that Both Leader of each Guild for the Monks Does wear this sash, Its Difficulty to obtain is insain, took 7 Hours to Kill Grand Master Glox For it, 13 Groups each 6 strong, Everyone Died atleast once, For not does Glox only fight you, but so does everyone around, But at the end, the Monk that wanted it, Hehe Me ; P

Your statement might carry a bit more weight to it if you were loged in. Hard to rate Anonymous people's statements in here.

Since I'm no where near Freeport at the moment, the Sash drops off one of the Female Trainer Monks.

If at first you don't succeed, then failure might be more your style!
#Grimtooth, Posted: Apr 15 2001 at 8:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have a black sash on my Monk and when I log on next I'll send in the screen shot and the stats.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 02 2001 at 3:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Still no one has posted the STATS on this "Black sash" that the "Guild master" or who ever drops it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 19 2001 at 7:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To help clarify about getting the Black sash: I was able to help a friend get the Black Sash quite a while ago. The sasy does not drop off the guild master as many were lead to believe. I unfortunately do not remeber who it was that dropped the sash, but it was another in the zone. I also do not know the stats as I am not a monk, but I do know that when we pulled the mob to kill it a GM showed up and asked if we got what we were looking for. If you try the different NPC's in the zone one will finally drop the Black sash. We were able to kill him with a group of 4 level 50's but I think that he has been since then increased in levels. Just thought I would let you know.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 30 2001 at 5:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sigh. thanks for telling us its not the Guildmaster. But try to remember or ask your friend the correct info next time :) Say, the name of the npc would help a lot. Otherwise its not much of a clarification , grins

Killing a monk in the guild house does not drop faction. You must kill your master to get the sashes, sorta like in D&D. You ARE meant to kill them.

When you kill the guildmaster, you get the Purple Sash of Order, not a black one.

I think you have to kill a certain one, you can get purp, brown, or black, not sure which one though.

I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 02 2000 at 5:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why is this posted on a thread about a quest where you kill a guildmaster?
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 21 2001 at 11:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Maybe he is a long camp...heheh
