Find Smithy Bronson in the forge area of Crescent Reach (location -1055, -1504, +29).
You say, 'Hail, Smithy Bronson' Smithy Bronson pauses mid swing. . .smithing hammer in the air. "And what can I do for you? Be quick! I am far behind in fulfilling my orders. Or perhaps you've been sent here to [help] me out? You say, 'I will help' Smithy Bronson says 'Are you daft or do you like repeating what has already been said? Don't answer that. Anyhow as you can see, the rate at which this city is growing is drowning me in orders. Here is a quick list of things I could use a hand with.' Among the tasks you can select is "Gnollish Tools". Since ore in these parts is in short supply, I could use a hand gathering some tools. The location given in the quest description for Smithy Bronson (location -1422, -1624, -87) is incorrect. Rather, this location is where the NPC named Historian Pewdri is located.
Smithy Bronson's location is (–1055, –1504, +29). This is on the second floor, next to the big forge.

The smith takes the tools you brought back and begins to break them down into their core components. After a bit of time she returns with a new haversack.

Completed this in 10 minutes as a 68 Paladin. Smithy Bronson is on the second floor, in the North room. Go up the right ramp and he is next to the huge forge.
Right when you enter Blightfire Moors, go directly south for a cave of gnolls. Every gnoll kill had a guarenteed Pick or Hammer. Go back to Smithy Bronson and turn them in for an easy 10 slot WD backpack!

Very easy for a high level character. I wanted another reduction bag for my 61 shadow knight, and saw this quest. Probably the easiest reduction bag I ever got. Took longer to travel than it did to kill the mobs and collect the drops.

was able to get quest at lvl 16
I found there is one mucktail miner that hangs out outside the cave at appx. loc -1815, +3014.
If by some silly chance ya delete your OHH, you can do the quest again and it will give ya another one.... WOOT ! BUT..... the question remains was my other OHH empty when I deleted it ??? Hmmmm....

May be difficult for a level 20 to get the picks because the miners are inside the mines, and tend to aggro as a group of two or three. However, the picks they drop for the quest are tradeable, so you could get a higher level character to pick them up for you.
The hammers are NO DROP, but the rockbreakers are standing outside, and generally spread out so they can be pulled one at a time with ease.
As with all quests in the new zones, make sure you have accepted the quest/task before you go out and collect the items. Otherwise the quest journal will not update properly, and you will not get credit for those items you gathered beforehand.
EDIT: Actually tried to hand in the miner's picks but couldn't because you have loot them yourself to get credit in the quest log. Oh well.

As of 01/12/2007, the Rockbreaker Hammer drops off the Mucktail Rockbreakers, and the Mucktail Mining Pick drops off only a Mucktail miner, which is not on the list yet.
Received the bag. No xp to go with finishing the quest - just the xp from killing the mobs. Bag is good :)

Just completed this quest today and received full reward.
Easy quest allright, problem now is you get the experience but no bag, I see that level is not an issue.

The location needs to be corrected, which is posted in the link above for Smith Bronson.
