There is one slave up at a time in Nurga. The slave location is -2130, -935, -220 in a pit, not too far west of the zoneline to Frontier Mountains.
The dialog goes like this:
You say, 'Hail, Rinnala Sweetsong'
Rinnala Sweetsong says, 'Hello. Do keep it down. If the goblins see you talking to me I will be punished for sure. It has been such a long time since I've been home. I've nearly forgotten the constant chirping of the birds there.'
You say, 'home'
Rinnala Sweetsong says, 'I used to call my home Firiona Vie but it has been a long time since I have even seen the sun. Perhaps you could help me escape?'
You say, 'escape'
Rinnala Sweetsong says, 'That is wonderful to hear! For me to escape I will need a small iron shackle key, a pouch of supplies, and a strong restorative. The key can be found on a nasty goblin named Pruckib. The supplies can be found on the Taskmaster Yajo. Slave Driver Nimol has the supply of the restorative that keeps us miners going. Be warned, though. I am sure the goblins will try to prevent my escape.'
Upon handing the three items to the slave:
Rinnala Sweetsong says, 'You have done well thus far, now is the time to make my escape. Defend me!'
You gain party experience!

An alarm sounds summoning goblins to prevent the enslaved miner from escaping.
A wave of 5 static goblins spawns around the pit where the slave is. When you kill the last of the goblins in the current wave, the next wave spawns immediately. The final wave (#6) includes Mine Overseer Narrik.
You have slain Mine Overseer Narrik!
The mine overseer and his minions have been defeated. An enslaved miner has been successfully freed.
The slave returns to their homeland and a different slave spawns in their place.
Pungub Brawlum says, 'Hallo der. Pungub just work all day cuz dats what da gobbys want. Pungub really miss his home.'
You say, 'home'
Pungub Brawlum says, 'Me home was close to da sea. Came to da Overthere on da Bloated Belly me miss my home can you help Pungub escape from da gobbys?'
You say, 'escape'
Pungub Brawlum says, 'Okies den you need to bring Pungub the small iron shackle key, a pouch of supplies, and a strong restorative to free me. Pruckib has da key, Yajo has da supplies, and Nimol has da restorative. If you can rescue me, watch for da gobbies they be mean.'

In the Mines of Nurga, there are slaves of various races who wish to be set free. Each slave asks for 3 items: a small iron shackle key, a pouch of supplies, and a strong restorative. The small iron shackle key drops from Overseer Pruckib, the pouch of supplies drops from Taskmaster Yajo, and the strong restorative drops from Slave Driver Nimol.
Once you've handed in the items, 6 waves of 5 goblins spawn. At the end, a named will spawn (Mine Overseer Narrik). When he is killed, the slave escapes and flees to his home where he gives another quest. A different slave will spawn to take the freed slave's place. Known slaves in order: Pungub Brawlum (ogre male), Xiokai Rissthrum (iksar female), Rinnala Sweetsong (wood elf female), Rock Shaper Dritam (burynai), Crix Tzo`mok (sarnak), Wekland Greenfoot (wood elf male), Osvima K`Matim (dark elf female), Doovix Mruzzik (iksar male), Cenobite Pakclaw (burynai), Yimic Pxo`hab (sarnak). as of the date of this post, rinalla is back up...near whats marked on mapfiend as 'slave du jour'.....
they've always popped in nurga for the cycle; it's when they're freed they don't pop in FV--*anywhere* in FV.

Freed Pungub on Zek. Did it solo with a 70 Necro. Not too bad. Mostly Green and LB cons, but they have a ton of HP.

Update. I freed Xiokai today. Next to spawn was Rock Sharper Dritam, so I would guess the absence of Rinnala Sweetsong shows that the NPCs that formerly spawned in FV are now removed from the quest. Too bad, the ring of sweet serenades was one of the best items in the quest.

i don't know that they always free up in the same order. i'll be giving it a go on Stromm over the weekend to see what happens.
but agreed if they're not going to spawn anymore, that really bites--two ALL/ALL no-drop items that are terrific removed from the game is just sad.

Ugh... I tried petitioning it when I first saw Rinnala and Wekland weren't up, but the GM told me to /feedback and /bug report it instead, I did both several times and now they just took them out of the game?? That's awful =( Maybe if enough people /feedback and /bug report it, they'll bring them back - I'd hate to think the time and money I spent collecting and buying the items for those two quests are wasted. (As an aside, I wonder if the quest items for those 2 are still dropping?)
yup, they still drop. have spirit fetishs and overseer's necklances drop semi-regular. hufflam's ring and henexa's bone collar also drop.

The slaves spawn in the following order: Pungub, Xiokai, Rinnala, Dritam, Criz, Wekland, Osvima, Doovix, Pakclaw, and Yimic. So Pungub is seen in OT more often than the others because he is always the first to be freed after they are recaptured.
Since FV has become evil, Rinnala and Wekland are nowhere to be seen, not on track in the good outpost either. Don't know if they were just overlooked, or if the DEs ate them as soon as they were freed. I petitioned and bug reported it, hope they'll fix it soon!

once a slave is freed... will it despawn once it's subsequent quest is done... or does it stay there indefinately until reset?
Playing on M.Marr server, I have noticed that some of the slaves (Pungub in OT, Rinnala in FV) are always free -- even after a patch -- while I have not seen others (like Wekland and Osvima) in months. Don't know if there is a bug, or if no one hunts in Nurga anymore... just wondering if other servers have a similar experience.

I suspect the zone was reset with the addition of the Iksar quest mobs (victorious goblin, rebellious goblin, etc.). I checked out a few of the mobs and they were no longer in their assigned zones. As well, Pungum Brawler is back in Nurga awaiting freedom as of Sept 12/04 on Bertox. Time to gather a few friends, sigh.

Slaves have also disapeared on Terris-Thule server. Have to redo it all, damnit.

Yep, I can confirm this. Pungub was up last I checked in Nurga... /sigh Thankfully, I have a set of the items needed for one freedom run.

This says that the level is 40. does that mean if you are under 40 you cannot do the turn ins for these quests?

I don't know about this quest specifically, but in general those levels are estimates of what the players doing the event need to be to kill the things, not required levels for the quests.
Usually, the text or at least player comments will indicate 'hard' requirements, as with, say, the ornate armor quests, which require level 55 to complete IIRC.

Seems they all got recaptured again. Time to re-release them I guess. Same with Droga unfortunatly.
