BO lightstones are also used in making journeyman runes for the tradeskill research. I was hunting willowisps in Q Hills and noticed that the respawn time on them is long what is the deal with that anyone know?

its for a Quest that involves an NPC in befallen in Zeek, he asks for 4 clues, one is from Halflings in nekyulous, another frm Drakes in Lavastorm, 3rd is from Wisps in EC, the 4th no one knows yet, searched everywhere for info but cant find anything
My warrior was running through WK and idly killing things that crossed his path. He looted a Wisp Essence and an Enchanted Wisp Globe off a couple of Wisps in West Karana.
Apparently the essence is for a Paladin armor quest in NQ and the wisp globe is for a bard quest in NFP. Check the newbie armor quests for those 2 zones and you will see them there (not in the main quest items list though 8-P)
Anyone know what an Enchanted Wisp Globe is used for? I looted one with my Human Cleric in the Qeynos Hills and they are stackable but I have never seen or heard of them before.
I had some chain armor on my chest (ac 10) and helm (ac 6) as gifts from others, I used my magical summoned hammer and I had put some extra training point towards 1H blunt and it all payed off. Killed it with about 20 hp's left and half a bulb of mana. Got a burned out lightstone but the xp was worth it.

Wisps can be effected by spells and magical weapons as well as skills (such as kick). Melee characters require a weapon with a MAGIC ITEM tag to hit these little... bug things. Or if you are a monk and use hand to hand skill you will need gloves with the magic item tag. To my knowledge all skills that do not require a weapon or item will hit magical creatures regardless of your equipment.
I usually wait until I have about 5 or 6 GLS then I take em to the gypsy camp in North Karana (Myrsila is her name I think). Just give em to her one at a time and she'll give you the enchanters spell research book. (it's a container so be sure you have room for it, that's why I said one at a time). If you have the room, hold onto them and sell them to a merchant that cons as "ally" to you and you will get the best price for it. I get about 12pp from the priests of life in Qeynos for each book. You can't sell the burned out lightstones but they still make an excellent light source till you log. I leave em on the corpses and let the newbies take em for light, man they're like hi-beams. Also, in your graphics options, turn on dynamic lighting and you'll be able to find wisps much easier because of the light radius they put off. (hi-beams man!) The enchanted wisp globes are for a Paladin quest. I just sold one for 6pp. All he would tell me is that they're for a quest he's doing and he hoped he needed only one so it may be a "fail and you lose it" kind of thing. Also, wisps are great exp from level 9 to 15 and a good way to raise your fighting skills. Be sure to use a magic weapon or if you're a caster your spells will do fine. (enchanter pets count as magic weapons too!) Other pets don't do magic damage unless you give them a summoned weapon. I wouldn't waste an actual magic weapon on them though. If you get 2 wisps on you, charm one to fight the other, that works great too.
A great place to get about 8pp and xp for each greater lightstone. Be wary of the undead and the madmen walking around when you sell to her. I had a madman interrupt a sell and my SK mate had to save me.
This No Drop component is required for the Freeport Bard newbie armor quest. It goes into the "Songweavers Platemail Breastplate". Be a nicey and leave it on the Wisp corpse =)
If you are on Lany's server, see if Weluien is on, i seriously need one of these to complete my set (i guess i need beads off of kelleru, but he seems to never spawn) anyways if your not a bard, plz leave em on there!
Today while hunting wisps I got an ENCHANTED WISP GLOBE. Well I was quick to ask some people I figured would have a clue as to what this little beauty was for. Apparently it is for a lower/low level quest for Paladins. It's an ingredient for their sword. Since I don't have a pallie at this time and he has already complete the newbie pallie armor quest I gave it to him for his sword.
Even though it's a fairly new quest ( I think ), it will probably be a difficult quest because I lay from 5 to 20 of these spirits to rest everyday...
1. BEWARE!! Willowisps do seem to team up on you. I was fighting one, and it was attacking 3 times faster tan me. I slain it, and it was still attacking! I turned around and noticed i had 3 other ones on my tail. no biggie. Just three. After i killed them, I turned around and another two were attacking me! All I got from that time was a few burned out lightstones. 2. And a Question. Is there some sort of special place where I get greater lightstones?
I killed a wisp in Eastern Commons today. The loot included a no drop item - a bottle of smoke. With the latest patches, the merchants offer about 2 gold for it but them refuse to buy it. I believe it was a lore item but I'm not sue on that.
Wow! i just checked in the dictionnairy that you can make a will-o-wisp by spontaneously burning hydrogen phosphore! how cool! well now i have t find some... wonder where i can get that
Willow whisps are they were once called generally form in the cooler hours of the afternoon and evening, hanging like globes under the plants of a thick, moist swamp. (Most often, low-hanging branches of trees like willows.) They look much like a very large firefly flitting about. Very pretty, but eerie if you're not expecting them.
Watch out for the wandering spirit in WC, it looks identical to a will-o-wisp. It spawns past the bandit farm, then runs past the guard tower and by the cornfields. It looks just like a wisp but it gave decent xp to an upper 20's Pali. So all you lowbies, con these things before attack them. Also Shamen shouldn't attack the spirit, it is part of your epic quest I believe and you'll need to talk to it later.
If you've ever watched fire beetles, you can tell which ones have a fire beetle eye on them because the area around them will glow. Back in the day before burned out lightstones, you could tell which wisps had lightstones and which didn't by looking for the tell-tale glow around the wisp. If it didn't glow, then you didn't kill it because it didn't have anything of value. High level people looking for quick cash would come to areas like WC and just kill all of the wisps with lightstones, leaving the low-teen level characters with the leftovers. Verant added a burned-out lightstone (which is the same light-source as a regular one) so you couldn't tell which one had a real lightstone or not.
This is not in West Karana but in NORTH Karana where you will find a gipsy woman (located in the Gipsy camp). For each Lightstone she gives you good experience (and 3 silver I think). She also gives you for each Greater Lightstone some good experience and a book (as mentionned above) which you sell back (for me it was about 8.3 pp).
Evil races can turn them in in the same way to a Dark Elf in South desert of Ro in the DE camp i think it was the Smith. Not shure but hail her and i think she tells you about them. GL hope this helps my Evil brother's and sister's out there.

Also be aware that the same quest involving the Greater Lightstones can be done at the Gypsy camp in the Oasis. The camp is located SW of the docks in the area, and the gypsy that wants them is the one with her back towards the docks area. I didn't get any info Hailing her, but giving (not selling) them to her completes the quest. It can be done repeatedly. This is really good to know, since Wisps are common in both East Commons and West Commons, and getting to Oasis from these areas is a lot safer than trying to get to NK.
When a giant mob is chasing you and you cant take them all, all you have to do is run around the island with a SoW, until the boat starts to pull up. Jump onto the boat and everything that was chasing you will forget you even existed. Just a tip I learned from soloing. Works well when messing with wisps.(Axiom Rocks)
