Was swarming c2 and found this guy up. Killed my swarm and decided to have a shot at him. Started the fight with 100% hp and 20% mana. Ended the Fight with 100% hp and 10% mana. Killed it pure solo with no merc, don't think I ever dropped below 85% during the fight. Probably took about 8-9 minutes to kill him. 80 SK with 32k hp, 4.4k ac and 1k aa.
Definitely killed him in under 2 minutes today. I got hit with the AE twice, went OOM when he was at 4%. We had 60 people in the raid. We have just started farming PoFire, but I am in a DPS heavy guild.
As far as the AE is concerned, just have each RGC capable player cure themselves and one or two others, and you won't even skip a beat.
His mini annoying AE is one thing to worry about. His massive melee DPS is the other. He may be a "caster" of sorts but his melee DPS is tops in PoF.
And whoever the **** posted the thing about MQ2...You are just the type of person that shoudln't be using it. Its kiss and don't tell. You say: He is lvl 78. Now... MQ2 tells me yadda yadda yadda. No one cares what graphic model he is, and stop publicizing MQ2...***
Arch Mage Yozanni is actually quite easy once you figure out a floor plan on a solid strategy. Since the AE doesn't actually hurt anyone like the AEs found on Blazzax or Babnoxis, you're not dealing with MGB heals of any sort. You can heal his melee dps with a five cleric CH rot (3 seconds) with room to spare.
You basically just get one RGCer assigned to each cleric. Since AMY actually stops to cast his AE, you can start casting RGC and have it land the moment the AE hits provided you're watching mob spell casting messages.
<Arch Mage Yozanni begins to cast a spell>
It's clockwork every 30 seconds.
My further advice, however, is to cure the MT as well. If you look at the statistics of the AE, it reduces everyone's AC by 450 points. While AMY isn't reknown for his damage output, it is extremely high on an MT who hasn't had this dot cured yet (or anyone for that matter). Cure it. Just trust mah!
If your guild is able to get into PoFire and do the other named to get to this guy's area chances are you will drop him too fast for his ae to bother you
ROFL
This guy will drain a 6k mana cleric in about 2 minutes
the quicker you kill A.M.Y. the better, but Pathfinderboy you are dumb because the 6k mana cleric being drained in 2 minutes would be due to no strategy. Pair up people who can cast RGC and when the ae mana hits have the RGC partner cast RGC on the clerics, and vice versa. Pretty sure bards can cure it with Innocence too.
and most people resist the dot cause its fire based
That's the most retarded statement i've ever seen, i think
Well fact is lvl 65 with 500 fire resist (hard cap, you can't do better) you usually won't resist it more than 50%, and that's if you're lucky. You just cure AM's AE, you can't do anything else
and as far as killing AM in under 2mn, that may be possible in your 250members zerg guild, but to a regular guild using 50-60ppls raid it'll take far longer time esp. because the AE is a mana sieve + a melee debuff (greatly lowering melee dps and caster's sustained dps)
and most people resist the dot cause its fire based
Now you know that is simply not true at all. At -350 resist check, standing at 500 SvF you might resist it one or twice a fight and consider yourself lucky for having done so. Don't count on resisting it, be ready to cure it on the classes you absolutely need to.
Also drops a very nice neck/waist item for wis and int casters. I'll try to get the info on it.
His ae is the most annoying ever. Much like Aary's in NToV, however it only has a 200 range. A good strat is to have your casters us their exrange 4 items or run to the back of the ledge and wait. Have someone call the ae and then everyone runs up, nukes/dots, runs back. With practice you can avoid every cast and given that he is a caster mob he has low AC/HP.
If your guild is able to get into PoFire and do the other named to get to this guy's area chances are you will drop him too fast for his ae to bother you. Enjoy....... Socor Ndoki Drinal
Not really his AE has a 300 range, it's hard to resist (Fire -350), and he casts it far more often than the time needed to kill him. The AE also greatly debuffs melee ATK meaning if you don't cure it really fast on everyone your raid will net an amazing 50 dps
While being easier and less random than Reparm (you can kill him with some bad luck), he's still a very annoying encounter
Best is to have your Bards in groups that need it the most to boost your resist to 500 so you have a chance to resist it. Then have your Beastlords MGB Extended Paragon after several are hit with AE then in 1min intervals which basically negates the -250 per mana drain. Hit tanks with RGC & RC3.
With a 300 range your going to get hit so dont bother running back N forth, just blast N smack away as fast as you can while you can. Faster he dies the better
Paragon is 80 mana per tick. While it's better than nothing, (I always hit it anyway on Yozanni) don't rely on it to cancel the -250 per tick mana drain on his AE.
On test they are making this curable in a real sense (ie - no more need to annull oneself) by adding 18 curse counters.
RC3 only removes 16 counters - sneaky SOE! Still makes the fight trivial if it goes live. Also, willing to bet that casting RGC is less effective than another strat which will be made available when counters are added.
