No rent should hang out for 30 minutes after your logged. It is that way incase you go LD and wanted to actually use the item

tailoring

You use this item in tailoring. The recipe is tattered hopper tunic + xakra kel tunic + bone needle(from needle claw hopper quest)+ rope of shadling silk(combine 3 shadling silk treads)= shaded hopper armor. maybe adds a little ac and some magic resist. This works for all the pieces, of tattered with corresponding xakra armor. the bone needle is the hardest part 8/.

I did it without the rope of shadling silk... and worked - I wonder if the resultant tunic wasn't as good.

Coulda been i had the recipe wrong, i didn't remeber it exactly unfortunatly, the original recipe i thought of didn't have the rope either. The rope maybe be used for tailoring pouches of some kind, i didn't experiment much with the tailoring of shadling silk, mostly what i heard from practicing tailors in the zone.

Don't need a rope for shaded hopperhide armour. All youneed is a matching piece of hopperhide armor, the xakra kel stuff and a claw needle.
trivial is 36

the rope is for making tailored hopperhide bags. rope+lq hopperhide = small bag with 10% weight reduction.
mq or hq hide and a rope, i believe, creates a large bag.

some items i understandbeing no rent, like summon food. but items like this being no rent, lame. if a newbie manages too kill something in shadeweavers thicket, that actually needs a shirt this lame, let him have it i say.

The reason it's no rent is because it's made by a substance that isn't bound to this realm and fades away. Using some tattered hopperhide as a base (1 damaged hopperhide and 1 pattern) and a claw needle(four needle claws to tailor merchant in shadeweavers) as a spirit anchor, you can bind this armor and create Shaded Hopperhide, good armor with low saves to magic resist.

...think about why this might be no rent there big guy...does the word quest come to mind? theres tons of quest no rent items out there and im sure this is just another to add to the pile, and 8ac as a newb that is untwinked mind you, is rather good

It's probably "no rent" because these armor pieces are specifically for combining with the tattered hopper hide armor. The resulting shaded hopper hide winds up being a light leather equivalent, with bonuses. Making it no rent means there won't be any market for the xakra kel armor, guaranteeing it'll be used for its intended purpose.

Considering how easy it is to get, it makes a nice starter set for beast lords. I'll bet the bonuses add up nicely in a full set. As an added bonus, you wind up bumping tailoring skill a few points along the way.

Exactly, thank you Arj. My beastlord discovered this quest early on by talking to various NPCs in Shadeweavers and gave it a shot. The resulting leggings she created were terrific for her level and I was pleasantly happy with the outcome. The final armor, or leggings at least, are shaded transparent black (on my puter anyway). Very nice, pretty cool looking for such a low level quest.
