I got this the other evening with my guild. I was surprised to get it because my main is a Paladin but I lucked out and my alt monk recieved this staff.
I was told by another monk in the guild that also recieved it that his parsing showed that it was better DPS than his Epic and a darn good offhand (sorry forgot name but it was like 40/20ish).
Just plunk down some 2 hander weaps aa's and enjoy.
One thing I noticed tho is that because my monk is not the beast armored monk in the world he gets beat up a bit soloing. I usually hold my own with 2 weaps that have 3 taps in them, using the two hander is slightly more dps, but I dont get the nice taps.
I put a 4 damage aug in this so its about 107 damage all together assuming resits of mob allow the hits.
I havent really parsed it substantially myself yet, and I don't have near the aa's that the other monk who parsed it did. A few short parses showed only a modest advantage over 2.0 and Hallowed bloodClaw, But without a better longer parse over time with similar creatures its really up in the air.
It's fun to knock out an innerflame and see some big numbers roll out with this weapon.
Any others who have thoughts on this vs 1 handers, or dps parses please post.
Also I was thinkig that innerflame would be the best disc to use with this weap because of the big damage and the multiplier, but others have said speed focus would be best.
Beasts with good 1 handers would do best to stay away unless they havent two good one handers yet. Because they dont get many 2 hander weapon benefits and they don't get triple attack I have heard (from beasts) that this weapon although nice does not really live up to its potential on beasts like it would on monks who have the skills and abilites/aa's to make it equal or even surpass dual wielding. Any thoughts?
