I allso have everything needed for this quest, I got an idea that maybe the wood could spawn anywhere in the zone, including under water. I spent hours swimming under water looking for this wood. I swam along the shores of each island and out into the bottems of the ocean till I got sick no where to be found.
Anyone have one on Brell Serilis server? I have the other 2 pieces and VERY upset about this issue. So if you have one PLEASE get a hold of me and we can work something out.
Ive been trying to do this quest for the past few months and I have not been able to find the seaworthy planking anywhere. Has anyone out there seen or picked this up recently? I know that others have posted it seems to no longer drop according to the Showeq program, but every GM I have spoken to assure me that the item still drops. Please post if you have acquired this in the past month or two.
Thank you for posting the facts about the zone. I have a question about this "no wood here" mob that you say is in the zone. Could you give some co-ordinates for these areas? Or is it a futile attempt to be looking for this item? Do you know of any site that a person could go to, or an address where a person could write to to get verification that this item does in fact NOT drop anymore?
-----If it does not drop why does Breezeboot still give the quest out, and the other items still drop?-------
Pretty silly of Verant or whoever decided to do this, makes no sence.
There are a number of level 60 mobs in the zone called 'no wood here'. These are invisible mobs, and it's not the kind of invisible where you can use see invis, they are totally undetectable by players. You can also AE right on top of them and they won't attack you.
It seems obvious these mobs were introduced to take the place of former wood drops. Furthermore I have spent a lot of time in iceclad and I can see every ground spawn in the zone, and I haven't seen this drop in the past 30 or so hours I've spent in this zone.
I can not guarantee this no longer spawns, but it seems very unlikely it spawns. It look like Verant has effectively disabled this quest. Don't listen to guides or GMs they honestly don't know what's going on, these are the facts.

There have been rumors of people getting a "no wood here" message while running around and looking for the plank. These inv mobs that are lv 60 are normaly mobs like the ones in the shawl quest that u have to run over causing a message and DS or the mob for the turn in.
Does anyone know if this item still exists? I have been looking for it since about May 13th 2001, and the GM's keep saying that "no quests have been removed from the game" although it seems that this elusive little bag has dissappeared. If you have any info or any reports that this item still exists, please post a date and a loc where it was found if possible. Thanks
From the Gnome Port both Left and Right side Iceburgs could not Find anything. Looked under every pad, island, cliff and still nothing. Only thing that was found was a fishing grub on all the some of the islands. Maybe the fishing grubs are Place Holders? Nothing is totally random spawns. Please if you acually locate the Planking post a location X, X. Will save alot of time.
I was running along the coast between the Dragon Portal and the Bridge and saw a bag (loot) on the ground against the cliff wall. Picked it up and it was the planking. I have talked to several people who have been looking for it and cant find it. I also know of other people that have found it in different places. It was later learned that it is a complete random axis spawn. It could spawn on the bottom of the ocean someplace, or along the coast. From all the places Ive heard, its generally along the waters edge. Thats what makes the quest so difficult. I just hope this can be tag teamed.....
why is it that in the quest he says that a wreck in cobalt scar mightbe a good place to look yet the woodis found in iceclad ocean, are we all sure this is not a mistake, have spent countless hours looking in iceclad, and just cant help but think that it sounds like its in cobalt scar at a shipwreck.
On the last isle I see a red rock type graphic... not on any other of the icebergs, maybe its 1 spawning point. Loc is neg 3764, neg 7235, check it out.
I spent about 4hrs running around ALL of iceclads islands. I was told it can spawn underwater also becuase it is random. Someone said they found it under one of the lilly pad islands underwater. I finally found it on the very last iceberg out to sea from the gnome island dock. If your facing out to sea from the dock it was on the right side of the channel (you'll notice that the way to the dock is surrounded by icebergs on the left and right). Hope this helps

Has anyone managed to kill the baby walrus that the gnolls kill on the 2nd ice chunk from the gnoll camp?
It's killed pretty fast by the gnolls though. I must go see if it spawns a bit further off underwater before surfacing to get killed instantly... or maybe I'll train the gnolls off a bit and root them.
I wonder if that drops anything. It's propably a level 1 or 2 mob.
