Book Text:

DoNRaceBookHuman

Along with some very
innovative armor patterns,
this book contains
discussions and
illustrations of armor from
Human history. Inside are
told tales of forgotten
sieges on Qeynos written by
someone that was there.
These stories talk about
things that seem mundane at
first, such as maintaining
weapons and equipment while
under a siege. By the end
of the story, however, it
is obvious that the tale
was chosen because of the
incredible details about
use of armor in such
situations. There are
several notations from
royal smiths about secret

procedures used to make
armor for elite warrior in
Freeport. There are even a
few documents and
illustrations from the
Combine Empire. The
knowledge gathered in this
tome is astounding,
especially if the reader is
an armor smith.

The patterns in this book
can be copied many times,
but eventually they will
wear out and you can tell
that if you use the
patterns enough you will
need to replace the book.

To create pattern for
tailoring armor templates
based on these patterns you
will need this book, a
large bottle of ink, a roll

of plain parchment, a quill
and a compacted backpack to
hold the patterns you will
make. You'll also need a
book binding to do the
work.

If you wish to use the
patterns to make molds
you'll need a kiln to work
in as well as a high
quality firing sheet,
sculpting tools, a huge
block of clay and a
compacted backpack to hold
the molds when you're done.

[Sun Jan 23 14:21:30 2011] Artisan Tar Cordell says 'Hello Kragell. What brings you back 'ere? Wanted to be 'round yer own [kind] again?'
[Sun Jan 23 14:21:35 2011] You say, 'what kind?'
[Sun Jan 23 14:21:36 2011] Artisan Tar Cordell says 'Aye. A lot of us 'ave returned 'ome these past few months. Seems distrust is brewing among them other races. Now, I don't want to be accused of bigotry, some of those other kind are okay--dwarves and elves are pretty reliable--but the rest . . . you can't trust 'em. Like them blasted dark elves always plotting something. And those lizard things . . . don't even get me started with those. Folks don't feel safe out there anymore so they're coming back to the cities for protection. Why do you think I came back to 'ere! To be 'round more 'umans, folks I can [trust]!'
[Sun Jan 23 14:21:58 2011] You say, 'you can trust me'
[Sun Jan 23 14:21:58 2011] Artisan Tar Cordell says 'Aye, you know what I mean. We need to stick together, form a unified front and let our enemies know we mean business. In fact, right now I'm making armor for the city militia. Hmm, you look like you'd be good in a fight. Perhaps you'd be interested in these armor designs. I can share my pattern [book] or even my armor [patterns] with you provided you don't go blabbing my trade secrets to no dark elves. Can't trust those kind!'
[Sun Jan 23 14:22:33 2011] You say, 'what book?'
[Sun Jan 23 14:22:34 2011] Artisan Tar Cordell says 'Excellent, I can make you a pattern book, but first I'm gonna need some materials. Bring me a fire beetle carapace for the cover, a patch of zombie skin for the pages, a golden bandit tooth for the clasp, and a lion tail to grind down and make a salve which will protect and preserve the finished product. I hear these resources can be found in Western Karana. Once I have these things, I can create the pattern book for ya.'

[Sun Jan 23 17:31:32 2011] You have entered North Qeynos.
[Sun Jan 23 17:33:03 2011] Your Location is 236.65, 388.72, 3.75
[Sun Jan 23 17:33:28 2011] Artisan Tar Cordell says 'Aye, well done, my friend! As promised, 'ere is the pattern book. It may take some practice to get a 'ang of these designs, but they should serve you well. Don't forget about us if a war breaks out. I want you up on those city walls with me, aye!'
[Sun Jan 23 17:33:35 2011] You say, 'Ancestral Human Armor'

Vivian Selgan says 'Excellent, I can make you a pattern book, but first I'm gonna need some materials. Bring me a raw-hide belt for the cover, a low quality cat pelt for the pages, a snake venom sac for the ink, and a cutthroat insignia ring for the binding. I have heard most of these items can be found in the Oasis of Marr, South Ro and the Commonlands. Bring them to me and the pattern book shall be yours.'

On handing in the items:

You receive your book of Ancestral Human Armor.

There's been changes in the cultural combines... Now the ingredients for Ancestral Human armor are Zombie skin, Gold Bandit Tooth, Fire Beetle Carapace and a Lion Tail... It's easy to remember, they are the same ingredients used for Half Elf Ancestral Book.

As of today (8 December 2007), Artisan Vivian Selgan in East Freeport is still asking for the belt, cat pelt, venom sac, and ring referenced in Sir Lamini's post. Perhaps Honoukai was working with the quest-giver from Qeynos?
Where do you get this? Is it a seceret?
