85 Ranger with approximately 120 fishing skill using a regular pole and bait. Caught several while fishing on the east wall near a small plant. It is the only plant in the area. Run east after zone in to the far side of the river then turn north and follow the zone wall. You can't miss it. /loc is -195, -1030, 25
The RNG was working as usual with a couple of long barren patches but after about an hour my results were: Dagger 1, Sandals 3, Fresh Fish 66, Fish scales 57, Crawdad 11, Vallorian Discus 8 (I wanted to get spares for my alts)
starting from level 1 fishing skill on a 68 necro with a standard pole and the catch-a-lot bait I caught my first vallorian discus at level 69 fishing skill. Head east from zone in to water and no aggro on extreme east side.
200 fishing skill + 300 catch-a-lot bait boosting me to 204 + Plane of Valor + approximately 2 hours = nearly 300 fresh fish, about 2 dozen sandals, approximately 4 dozen rusty daggers and 0, lemme count again... ZERO Vallorian Discus.
Anyone else with maxxed fishing skill finding similar results?
200 Skill, 2 stacks regular bait (I'm cheap) led to . . .
1 rusy dagger 2 tattered cloth sandal unknown number of fish scales (added to previous stash) 22 fresh fish 2 Crawdad (the Named Crustacean, lol) 3 Valorian Discus
Given that you don't report catching any crawdad either I assume the fishing table was temporarily broken. Otherwise that's the worst streak of bad luck I've heard of in a long time :)
about 45 min. of fishing with 180 skill caught 13 of them 10 crawdad and two stack fresh fish...and of course the standard dagger, fish scales and the sandal
Cute thread about the discus and the boomerang ... but can anybody tell me where to find these fish in Valor? and what level do you have to be to get into this zone? it`s tier two isn`t it? thanks
Can't help thinking you're thinking of a boomerang... if you throw a discus up in the air the only way it'll come back to you is if you throw it straight up above your head... (and that goes for Aquafasciata Aquafasciata - the discus fish from South America as well...)
Additionally... it looks far more like a trout or other fast current based fish than a discus... makes me wonder if a discus on the Plane of Knowledge is oval ;-)
