I am a 58 Shammy... I am using a soulstripper weapon.. is it not about time I get a new one and if so what one? This is my first char and I am learning as I go up :) any advice on what weapon would be a good replacement if it needs replacing would be kindly appreciated :)

Thanks Campdog, I really do love the soulstripper and wasn't looking forward to it, I just imagined that I am suppose to be hitting harder by now LOL...I have looked and looked in bazaar and found nothing that grabs my fancy like the soulstipper unless I found one that did the same but for more LOL... and yes the prices are extronomically high....and doesn't do anything worthy of their price as the soulstripper does...

Soulstripper is a nice wep. Decent stats, and awesome proc.

However, if you have your heart set on an upgrade, you can pick up a Velium Gemmed Dagger in the baz for 8-12k (thats what they go for on drinal anyway). They have AWESOME stats (comparable to epic), but req lvl 60

I agree that the Velium dagger is awesome and it goes for around 10K on Stromm as well. I am currently saving for the entire line of Ceramic items and was reluctant to spend that much on a new weapon. I bought mesself a Spiked Velium Mallet for 2K (on Stromm) as an experiment and found that I like it better than Soulstripper! My aim was to increase my melee damage and I was not overly concerned with the stats. I hit for a max of 60 with Soulstipper and I have gotten as high as 57 with the mallet. The difference is that the hammer is way faster and the proc does 45 more damage. I don't miss the HP factor from Soulstripper and if the change in stats makes a difference I haven't yet noticed it. Most of my real damage comes from my Cripple and DoTs so I figure if I'm gonna wade in I might as well do as much hurt as possible. This mostly applies to solo situations. In a group it really makes no difference if I melee or not. If I do jump in to fight in a group it's just for fun. I have yet to steal aggro from the MT with any weapon. LOL

Yeah it is unaffordable by this shammy on AB server too ... but yes it is nice nice nice :( *sigh*... but rediculously expensive :(

IMO the epic is worth doing just for the bragging rights like walking up the stairs in the Empire State building. No real point to it other than being able to say you did it. The epic weapon is nice and clicky spells are always neat.

Lickle I'm telling ya I love me mallet and it was cheap. Quick weapons that proc are definately the way to go. With Celerity and Rage turned on I am doing some melee damage for the first time in a long while. And next level we get Voice of the Berserker.

im lvl 67 and still dont have my epic 1.0 - kinda ashamed i just dont have a child's tear and everybody fears a PoFear raid.(pun inteded) so for now i just run around with my little beat stick.

I have to disagree about the aug.. if I have focus on or dex it proc's sometimes up to 5 times after each other in one fight.... it also does 380 damage more often then less...

I am not saying you are wrong about your choice being better I can not say I haven't used one and it probably is lol... but the orb isn't as bad as you say either.. I have found it very useful so far :) and where the procing is concerned it procs alot for me...
