Classes: The Paladin

Paladins - Icons of Virtue. The paladin combines the strength and battle prowess of a fighter with the healing and buffing of a cleric.

What is the best strategy for developing your paladin? Can a paladin be soloed, and if so, how? How should you play your paladin within a group? What skills should you concentrate on developing? What spells are most useful, and least useful? What armor and weapons should your paladin be seeking out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Paladin and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Can a paladin get this hammer? I was told while in group that is was a waste of money to buy gate potions and just to get the OT hammer. To this I said thats evil races or classes, sks and necros, bards and enc are able to with charm also. Well I was told buy this person he/she had seen more that one pally with the hammer and it was easy and way cheaper to get than gate potions. If there is any truth to this and it is better/cheeper please someone let me know how! thanks to anywho post.

EDIT... So how would I go about getting the hammer.. can't turn in the braid for faction.. so any resonable ideas welcome

it's all/all

All you need to do is find a way to get to amiable faction and do the hand-in.
Still need to find something to beat on to proc it, so not always the best option.
But handy to have in most cases.

The trick is getting the faction. The only way I could see doing that is having a druid to harmony the mob and keep casting invis on you while doing turn ins till you got to dubious.

I did that trying to repair my clerics of tunare faction by doing the muffin quest in Freeport. It was a major PITA, and after hours and hours of doing it I still didn't finish it.

My suggestion is to work on your pottery and make the gate pots to Thurgadin. It's close to a PoK stone and much cheaper than the gate pots. Then, when you get high enough, you can simply get the Origin AA.

/agree with Thurgadin gate potion. Get pottery up by making unfired bowls, Hunt in Velks (new hot zone) keep all the velium small bricks/pieces and crystalline silks (not threads)you loot and you will be good to go.

You can make a bunch of the vials up to the last combine and keep them, and the last components, in the bank. When you use the potion, you just run to the NPC that gives the container, go to the bank in Thurg for the components and you will have another potion ready to use in minutes.
