Classes: The Paladin

Paladins - Icons of Virtue. The paladin combines the strength and battle prowess of a fighter with the healing and buffing of a cleric.

What is the best strategy for developing your paladin? Can a paladin be soloed, and if so, how? How should you play your paladin within a group? What skills should you concentrate on developing? What spells are most useful, and least useful? What armor and weapons should your paladin be seeking out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Paladin and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Yes, Gunthak is a fantastic zone for paladins of that level, especially if you've got Ghoulbane and nife up. You can probably solo here if you keep to the front of the beach, and I seem to remember Gunthak having a ZEM - always seemed to be pretty good exp. Even if the xp per kill isn't a lot, the rate of killing ought to be fantastic, thus bringing up the entire equation. If you can get a group, move back to the broken skull camp, as the mobs are higher level, and you have quest spell drops back there. So do clerics. Shouldn't be hard to recruit one.

I can relate to this also.

I leveled quite a bit in the Gunthak area and about 44 or so moved over into Dulak Harbor area. I solo'd these areas, so yes if you're a solo type, then these two areas can be really good to level. Wouldn't recommend the tunnels though unless you are in a full group, the amount of mobs in this area allows for massive killing without having to worry about everything being camped.

Now to the main reason I recommend these areas for Pally's:
1) This is where you get your Ethereal Cleansing
2) The majority of Gunthak is undead.. Pally=Undead Slayer.
3) This is also where you get the necklace that is required to get your Light of Life spell in Dulak.
4) Lots of Clerics here doing Temp quests (Rez's and you make future friends that will rez for free, and temp for free, people remember those who help).
5) Very little important faction hits here. (Faction becomes extremly important for Pally's in later levels, why ruin it).
6) Money making... You can average up to 3plat a kill and with multiple mobs, means more killing. Dulak- Gems, weapon drops, worth a good amount of money, and if you kill in the mine camp area(?) and the boats, you can get blue diamonds pretty regular.
7) Easy access to POK-- Work on swimming skill also, you have to swim to get to the beach and to get back to lighthouse, plus if you get hit by the zombies or skelli's under the water, you won't fight like a 1-10 level.

I level'd from 40-50 here (Dulak after 45) yes some say its not great experience, but it makes up the lack of with the money you make, it equals out.

p.s. I know the erudite spirits con green to most of us, but do the clerics and the pally's a favor, don't kill them. The female is for the cleric turn in for temp spell, the male is for the pally turn in for ethereal cleansing spell.

Beware though, this zone has a high train rate.

Safe Hunting!
