#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 10 2006 at 2:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah if I can wear only one,I would choose my AF1 hat...however, there is this thing called a macro? See...you use a macro to activate this mask + your af1 tabar, = +25 enfeebling skill, which in a small word to describe that is, GODLY.
Purifying

Ok...um..this may sound like a really dumb question but how do you use "purifying"...is it some type of synth? or what...?

purifying isnt done by you, you trade the cursed armor and abjuration some priest in sandy. hes at the temple of north sandy in the room to the left of the entrance. hes sits in a corner. since its not done by you, i dont think its considered a synth, or at least i dont.

it's a quest technically, kinda like the Blue Mage AF. the NPC in al zhabi synths it, but it shows up in your quest log. Allakhazam just shows these as synths because the database is keyed to understand them that way...

yeah, enfeebling +10 is sweet, but i just don't see myself giving up Fast Cast enhancement for .. anything really lol, not even AF2 auto-regen.

I mean i guess for spells that cast quickly and have short recast timers like Paralyze and Slow and... thats about it... it would be a help, but if its not something i'm going to stress myself over getting.... KB is hard enough to just get claim on nowadays.

The Redmage AFv1 Hat is so solid of an item, it's really hard to switch out. Fast Cast+ and INT+ is about as nice as it gets.

Honestly, I tend to agree with you. I would use AFv1 hat (or AFv2 hat if you have it) over this. We RDMs can get plenty of Enfeeb+ skill from other gears. The only real reason to equip this is to complete a Crimson set and show off, IMHO.

Nice gear, but, AFv1 Hat is better choice if you have Enfeeb+ and MP+ in other slots. Also, the AFv2 Hat has Enfeeb +15 and auto Refresh. But, again, you can get plenty of Enfeeb+ from other slots as well...also, as a RDM I have never ran out of MP lol, so, I don't see how auto-Refresh would be all that helpful.

O.o It's Obvious that neither of you have ever tried to Enfeeble Gods before. So far I have 314 Enfeebling Magic when I try to land something on Gods, and I STILL can't land anything even close to reliably. Maybe if I sub BLM and use Elemental Seal, then I can get a nearly guaranteed spell in, but usually I'm on /DRK for gods and I can't land CRAP. After I have Master Caster's Bracelets, Enfeebling Earring, and either this or AFv2 hat, then MAYBE I'll be able to land something 50%, but even then I'm not going to get my hopes too high.

On a side note, as you get higher lvl RDM, you Realize that Fast Cast isn't all that important during a real fight. Soloing yes, Fast Cast 4tw, Long spells and constantly repeated spells yes, Macro in your Warlock's Chapeau, but for anything that has even remotely to do with Enfeebling and/or not casting at all, use AFv2 hat. (and although I still want it badly, I feel that the AFv2 body is the most worthless piece of AFv2 that we get in comparison to any of the other pieces, including the gloves)

I haven't noticed any major differences between having 300 skill and having 310+ enfeebling. Gods are pretty much immune to enfeebles for the most part, and landing them is down to luck rather than skill (recall the uproar when a BRD/WHM landed Silence on Kirin). I don't think Gods are a good indicator of how useful Enfeebling skill is. I'm not saying its not a useful skill, but there comes a time where you CAN have too much of a good thing.

ur thaughts are sound but seeing as how the ONLY way to get this to Kill King Behemoth... yea ur LSs RDMs are gonna need this a great deal more than any PLD... Especialy with better equips out there... "Need Before Greed" is an appropriate slogan but yeah on a PLD, its a pretty good piece
pld?

i'm thinking about having PLD be my 3rd job i take to 75, and so i was wondering, would this be good for a PLD?

one PLD in LOTL (my linkshell) thinks that it is, and i think it may be too, but every1 else is like "dude stfu stick w/ koenig, adaman and argiljamel!!!" (note: that's how the actual guy spelled it. real spelling is Aegishjalmr"). i guess it's just good for the defense, HP, and regen, and although i do agree a lot of stuff is better, i'm just saying that it could come in handy and be VERY useful during a lot of fights. thoughts?

im gonna have to say if you want a good headgear, use koenig(or kaiser if you can afford it). shield skill ftw. if you kiting use the aegish. if you cant get either of the above...i guess adaman will have to do.

being a pld I would say yes, the MP boost is needed if you elvaan or galka pld, lol

34 is good def for a head piece too

one thing I'm wondering does the regen on the mask and the regen on hercules ring stack?

Getting Crimson Armor

Well, first you have to craft the different pieces of Cursed Armor. You can go check on your own how these are made. Then, you must obtain the various Abjurations for each specific piece of armor. The abjurations come in a variety of types such as Wyrmal, Western, Eastern, etc. For Crimson Armor you need the Western Abjurations. When you use a Western abjuration on the cursed armor it changes into a piece of Crimson Armor.

Example: W. Abjuration: Ft. + Cursed Greaves =
Crimson Greaves!

There is also a set of HQ Crimson gear called Blood Armor. These are obtained by using the abjuration on a piece of Cursed -1 gear.

The abjurations you need drop off of very nasty mobs (mostly HNMs) such as Fafnir and Genbu so it may take you some time to acquire every abjuration that you'll need to get the entire set. Hope this post helps. :)

Wouldn't RDM be able to equip this seeing as how they can equip all the other Crimson set pieces and also the armor pieces raise skills important for a RDM?
