This spawns in the basement of the Pillar of the Black (in the mana pool).
Its AE is a mana and endurance drain, avoidable if you stand in an opposite corner from it. This mob is reportedly a belly caster (spells only land if standing right on top of it).

Like above post says, clear one cornor. pull to a cornor, then have healers moved to another, heal from there. once tank has arrgo I just run my box crew on top of him since he is a belly caster and burned right away. no problems. Standing on other cornor advoids AE

Clear a corner for your healers. They can heal from far away. Other casters beware of Emote. Melee DPS help.

1) He IS a belly caster. Stack on him and spells land no problem.
2) The AE is a brutal endurance / mana drain, but the spell messages give a good hint on how to avoid it (set audio trigger!):
Cast on you: You feel the need to hide in distant shadows.
Cast on other: Someone looks around for somewhere to run to.
Wears off: Your need to run subsides.

Casts https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=31189 single target and eats Warrior defensive disc, so figure out another way to tank it or you'll get eaten. Shadow lobster model.

What does he look like?

He spawns on the dark island. He spawned in the bottom of the tower for me in the water and on the 1st floor up from the bottom. All mobs that look like him seem to be PH's (I forgot the name, will update next time I'm in the zone)
Avg hit on MT was around 14.5k raid geared...... hit my silky for around 20k if i recall right. He had AE rampage and was really resistant to spells (possibly belly caster? didn't think to try on this one)
Also a NASTY AE / target mana / endurance drain (not totally sure how it worked, didn't hit everyone every time) we wiped several times to this but luckily had 2 clerics and a shammy, so eventually we got threw it, but spells not landing wasn't helping it die quickly either lol. I didn't actually have time to look at what the spell was called, but it came up in the song window and made quick work of my clerics 55k mana. Also tried to cure it with cleric 2.0 cleric / RC / cleric group heal and none of those worked, pally splash might work though.
He dropped http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=128733 X2, the armor piece for feet http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=64773 , the armor piece for arms http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=64775 and 2 lvl 95 spell rune http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70344
That was the combined loot for the 2 times we got him, will add more if I run into him again
