Valorian is a Bard who seeks to make Norrath a safer, friendlier place. Equally happy to defend the helpless with sword or song, he has begun to realize that music has far greater power for him. He is very afraid to die, so don't confuse him for an addled warrior with a death wish. Instead know that he will instantly give his life to defend a friend's - out of honor and loyalty. Although he'll curse like a drolvarg the entire time he is dying. Val's father was a wanderer, never really settled down. He loved women, and enough loved him back for him to father a number of children, mostly boys, across Norrath. Many of these stepbrothers are now fast friends, full brothers in heart. Val's mother died when he was 5, he was raised by his great uncle, the Maestro Amadiva. Maestro was a brilliant musician, far less of a man. He had little time and less interest for Valorian, who grew up pretty much alone, except for the rather brutal music lesson sessions. As an adult, Val realized that the music he was forced to play as a child could get him the attention - even affection - that he yearned for. As he worked hard to better his craft, he soon learned that he had a talent, a Knack, and a love for the music he once hated. His skill grew rapidly, as did the strength of the magic his songs created. Valorian is still pretty much a loner, hunting solo throughout Norrath. Yet he still yearns for the companionship, the brotherhood to belong to that will become the family he never had.
