Looking for Group Interface Tool

A new Looking For Group tool designed to assist players in finding groups for instanced dungeons and quests will now be available. This interface gives players the option to be added to a pool of other players also looking for a
group, as a means to expedite the process. In addition, players will also be able to search for additional members in situations where they have a group and are simply looking to find more players.

For a complete overview of this new interface, please take a moment and read the information contained on our comprehensive Looking for Group preview.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcru...rgroup.html

General

- All players will have their talent points reimbursed and will have access to new talents throughout their trees; this includes the 41-point talents. Several new abilities have also been added for all classes.

- All pets will now receive a percentage of their master's armor, spell damage, spell resistances, attack power, and stamina.
- Low-level spells cast by high-level players will receive smaller bonuses from +healing and +spell damage.
- HoTs, DoTs, and channeled spells have been re-balanced to receive a more appropriate (higher) percentage of +spell damage and +healing.
- HoTs from different sources will now stack (i.e. multiple druids can cast the Rejuvenation spell on 1 target).
- New item property "Resilience" has been introduced. Resilience reduces your chance to be the victim of a critical strike, and reduces the amount of damage critical strikes do to you.
- Weapon Skill now does the following:
- Weapon skill will no longer reduce the percentage damage lost due to glancing.
- The player will gain 0.1% to their critical strike rating per weapon skill against monsters above their level.
- When casting a buff on a low level target, the appropriate rank of the buff will automatically be applied.
- In PvP, Crowd Control effects will last no longer than 12 seconds instead of the full duration, with a chance of a heartbeat resist.
- Players will no longer lose faction when under the influence of "Mind Control" or the Gnomish Mind Control Cap.
- Several improvements have been made to the Macintosh client, including support for Multi-Threaded OpenGL on Intel Macs running OS X 10.4.8 or higher.

PvP

- Honor System Revamp
- Current honor totals have been reset.
- Players may display their highest lifetime rank title (accessible from
character sheet).
- Honor points earned each day may now be spent as a form of currency.
- Check the PvP tab of your character sheet to see your honor information.
- PvP rewards are no longer unique.
- Marks of Honor earned from battlegrounds are no longer turned in for reputation or honor. They are now used in addition to honor points in order to purchase rewards.
- Two New Arenas are now available in three different modes.
- 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 matches
- Players may queue up at Goblin NPC's in Stormwind, Ironforge,
- Orgrimmar, Undercity, and Gadgetzan

Druids

- The talent "Swiftmend" will now include bonus healing from the talents "Improved Rejuvenation" and "Empowered Rejuvenation".
- "Feline Swiftness" has been renamed "Feral Swiftness". Dodge % increase now also applies to Bear and Dire Bear Forms.
- "Improved Moonfire" has been reduced to 2 ranks, for a 5/10% bonus.
- "Insect Swarm" has had damage on all ranks increased. Mana cost of ranks 1,3 increased. Mana cost of ranks 4,5,6 decreased.
- "Nurturing Instinct" now grants the benefit at all times, but the bonus has been reduced to 25/50% of Strength.
- "Omen of Clarity's" duration has been increased to 30 min.
- "Improved Starfire" has been renamed to "Celestial Focus". It now also increases the chance to resist pushback when casting Wrath by 25/50/70%.
- "Blood Frenzy's" benefits have now merged with "Primal Fury".
- "Improved Leader of the Pack" has been reduced to 2 ranks for 2/4% total health healed.
- "Pounce" no longer requires the druid to be behind the target.
- "Barkskin" is now usable while stunned.

Hunters

- Traps can be set while in combat, but require a 2 second arming time.
- "Auto shot" will be automatically enabled if the Hunter steps out of melee range while in combat with target.
- 1 Agility will now grant 1 Ranged Attack Power.
- "Auto shot" is now reset when casting Aimed Shot.
- "The Beast Within's" Bonus damage caused has been reduced to 10%, but now also reduces the mana cost of all spells by 20%.
- Freezing Traps will now cancel combat when cast.

Mages

- "Frost Nova" (Water Elemental Spell) has now been renamed "Freeze".

Shaman

- Shaman with the appropriate talent spec are now able to dual-wield.
- Self-weapon buffs such as Windfury Weapon can be applied to both main and off-hand weapons.
- Rockbiter's weapon functionality has been changed. It is now a damage proc instead of a flat attack power bonus.
- Windfury Weapon and Rockbiter Weapon enchantments will only benefit the weapon with the enchantment on it.

Warlocks

- The range of "Drain Life" and "Drain Mana" spells have been increased.

Warriors

- Rage generation from dealing damage has been normalized.
- All Rage awards are averaged with our expected rage per swing (adjusted for weapon speed).

Items

- The "Far Sight" effect has changed so that the camera now zooms in to a distant location, rather than instantly showing the distant view. This also affects the items: Ultra-Spectropic Vision Goggles, the Ornate Spyglass, and the Hunter ability "Eagle Eye."
- Spells can now require either a totem item or a totem category item to cast a spell. This means that the Enchanting Rods now count as all of the lower level enchanting rods as well, so you only need a single enchanting rod instead of all six. This also means that "Finkle's Skinner" now counts as a Skinning Knife. Several weapons that are picks have been flagged as counting as a Mining pick as well.
- Items that give bonuses, such as critical strike percentage, have been modified to adhere to a combat rating system.
- All current items will provide the exact same benefit from ratings at level 60 as they provided before the ratings system.
- Thrown weapon items no longer stack, but use durability instead. One unit of durability is lost per throw, and these items can be repaired.
- The tool tip for the Great Staff of the Guardian now shows the proper increase of 28 to the party spell critical rating.
- Items that are useable from player inventory with a cooldown will now update the cooldown in real-time.
- Players will no longer be able to sell the "Blue Skeletal Horse" to vendors.
- The damage Proc from the item "Misplaced Servo Arm" will no longer break the Rogue ability "Gouge".
- The "Skull of Impending Doom" has been changed and will now increase run speed by 60% for 10 seconds, but deals damage equal to 60% of your maximum health and drains 60% of your maximum mana for over 10 seconds.
- The Backfire effect on the "Net-O-Matic" will no longer break on damage.

Professions

- All of the profession-made items that have been created up to now have been given proper stats based on the current expansion item level progression table.
- Most of the items made by Tailoring/Leatherworking/Blacksmithing have had their creation time reduced. Now the cap on time required to make an item in those professions is based on quality and level.
- New Max times required.
- Level 31+ Green Items at least 8 sec
- Level 31+ Blue Items at least 15 sec
- Level 31+ Purple Items at least 25 sec
- Skill level now determines what items you can disenchant.
- Skill 1= Level 1-20
- Skill 25= Level 20-25
- Skill 50= Level 25-30
- Skill 75= Level 30-35

Doesn't seem to matter what class or what game people often seem to think that their class is hated the most by game developers. I've played various online games over the years and in every forum there are threads like this one. I don't think Blizzard hate any class. I suspect they probably take some pride in what I think is a very good game. So if they are proud of their creation they want to do the best they can for every aspect.

You know, logical thought such as that does not seem to be the prevailing theme here. I agree whole-heartedly, but people generally forget the good and remember the bad. Human nature.

The new patch ****** my wow because the game now needs over 10Gb disk space.

Install problems have limited me to re-install from scratch 5 cd's 8hrs of patch re-downloads.

Apparently the new patch needs 3.8Gb of disk space WTF, on the disk I had wow installed on there was 3.6Gb left on a 10gb partition all 6.4gb already taken by wow, seriously why does the game need more than 10gb its crazy.
I tried moving to another partition but failed and then received nothing but error messages telling me to re-install.

you think when they release a patch it would work.

You don't need to keep all the old patch files that get downloaded. Delete them or , better yet, put them on a cd in case you ever have to reinstall WoW. My WoW folder takes up less then 5gb (without Screenshots).

# Dec 06 2006 at 3:14 AM Rating: Default
They said they were going to fix the bug that was keeping Miners and Herbalists from autosaving the Ore deposits and Herbs on the world map unless the attempt failed in patch 1.13, but they didn't come out with 1.13. Instead they came out with 2.0.1 and I dont see that fix listed. That sucks if they didn't fix it.

You would think that with a patch of this magnitude, where all talent points have been refunded, that Blizzard would update the talent calculators simultaneously with the release of the patch (if not sooner).

But, Nooooooo.

As a Druid I lose Omen of Clarity to the Resto tree, when I've always been a nearly pure Balance spec. I haven't figured out the tradeoffs of the new abilities in the Balance tree, but that's because THERE ISN'T AN UP-TO-DATE CALCULATOR, grrrr.

I'm sure Druids aren't alone in this, either.

Thanks, Bliz.

as i have looked at other pages the warr talent Tactical Mastery(arms three) and Iron Will (prot three) has changed places if this is a fact then i have to respec from my 31-5-15 build to something else this is one of the most stupid things that blizz have ever done and tactical mastery is in fact nerfed from 25 rage saved when you change stance to 15 rage if this also is true then blizz could just give taunt and charge over to palas

at lvl 20 wars get an ability that alows them to automatically save 10 rage when switching stances, tact mastery increases that from 10 to 25, indicating the +15 rage

WTF?? Is this for real? Enchanting mats are hard enough to come by as it is, and now our primary sources of mats will be eliminated? As a 250+ enchanter I'll now have to go to the Auction House or MC, BRS, etc, for mats?? And if this is true, Auction House prices will skyrocket in no time. This has to be a typo or something ... otherwise I'm finished as an enchanter ... thanks a lot Blizz ... >_<

I think what this means is the level of the item your disenchanting, so if your skill 225 you can disenchant any item. but if your only skill l50 you can only disenchant items no more than level 50

I guess its a way to stop low levels that just started enchanting from dissenchanting high level items just like that

After I was finally able to get in game last night and check this, you're correct hecspike. The level of my enchanting skill only limits the upper level of the items that I can disenchant, so over 225 you can disenchant anything that is able to be disenchanted. The patch notes are very poorly worded in this case, which Blizz should fix ... after all I wouldn't want to kill someone for the wrong reason. :P

We have one of the best classes in the game, major dps, crowd control, morphs, ports, drinks and food, shield, blink

Hmm are we playing the same game? Or are u joking?

Major DPS, Compared to what? the pets? In Bc Blizzard says that Mages are the Main DPS class. Everyone that have tried the BC beta KNOWS that Mages have the lowest DPS of all DPS classes. (I have played the beta with my mage that has Full NW, FM set and alot of random epics, and before BC i usually was top 5 on total dmg done)No i have to struggle to even get in top 10.
Crowd control, hmm almost every class has a way to get out from nova or to dispel it.
Polymorph, We are the only class in the game that has a healing CC and that breaks all the time i might ad, compared to Fear where i can be killed during the time im feared.
Food/water Tbh i rather buy my food/water then have to put up with all "can i have some food, noobzzorr gifve food, Fu stupid mage ****** give me food etc etc.

Shield hmm it drains mana which is something we have to cut down on if we want to have atleast more then 3500 HP. Ice Barrier=Absorbs 850 damage (lvl60) which isnt that much if u look what kind of other ways we have to protect ourselves aginst Dots etc, and its a 31point talent.

Blink, Most bugged spell in game, if u are on a ledge, slope, edge etc u blink backwards!!

And i dont even want to get started on the other classes uppgrades...
that compared to the mage gets buffed to the skies.

Meh...

Hurray, resllience...man i dunno what to spec in now for my rogue, I mean it's my first character and im at level 39, i pulled together a new tree cause i blew my other one to hell by speccing in subtley...

so i figured id retry with doing a improve crit chance/crit damage thing cause that seems popular but im wondering how much resillience will play as a factor for rogues...big? small? hmm..guess it just matters how you play.

But as for the nifty factor in this patch, Im lookin forward to the new LFG thing, especially since the meeting stone can act as a summoning now! :D this will make instances a lot less backbreaking, you know how we all want the items from it but can never find a good enough group in time...
Interesting patch problem...

I just finished patching my systems that I play WoW on and had a problem with the one system that had been doing background downloads. The systems which had not done any background downloads worked just fine. The one that had been trying to do the background download completely corrupted. The repair utility said that common.mpq was completely corrupted and was going to try to roll me back to a previous version. I'd been playing on 1.12, and we're all downloading 2.0.1. The version it tried to roll me back to was 2.0.0, which failed since it had never
been on that system, except possibly through the background downloader...

I'm now re-installing that one system, which appears to need to do the 1.12 patch before the 2.0.1 patch. It's going to take a long time.

Has anyone else run into this?

I'm sorry but I really do not like the way the talents have been moved around on the rogue's talent tree... It is keeping us from specing the way we would just because of the positions of the talent points on the tree.... They rearraged them in the last patch, but it is only getting worse.

And I think Every class got something except for a pally and rogue, and all they do is fix our "vanish bug" and we are suppose to consider it a great buff.

I just don't like the way it is heading.

But, only my opinion. I'd say most ppl STILL think rogues are overpowered in some fields.... I can promise you tho, Blizz is doing all it can to buff the other class and not us to make it "even".... They suceeded too, a lil' too well.

Oh well, yay new patch eh?
yea... yay.

Peace*

Honestly, QQ more. Rogues have never, and will never be weak to any other class. The changes made in the talent trees make total sense to me, and they're changes that the Rogue community has been clamoring about for a long time.

Well then i think the only class that really didn't get anything good updated and infact got owned was the warrior. They get less rage per swing now which means getting enough rage for a mortal strike or even sunder armor will take an extra swing or three. I'm still DLing this patch thou maybe its not as bad as i think it will be, i hope....OH and anyone that has a mule enchanter that they send greens to got slightly nerfed, thanks to the skill/lvl cap of disenchanting. Now you gotta get your mule to 10 even then you can't DE past lvl 50 items and that's at the max skill. Looks like im gunna need to lvl my mule a little higher jeez.

In my experience, the rage generation is actually better. Maybe I'm just imagining it, though; but it is definitely not worse. Personally, I love the talent tree changes. 100% chance to resist disarm? Two talents that increase the already *buffed* rage generation? Only thing I have to say is that the fury spec didn't get updated, and it probably should have been. But it's still good so I'm not complaining; I am an arms/protection warrior as it is.

So shamans get their dualvield Locks get longer spell range, pets now get bonuses from their owners... and so on... And what Mages get? A stupid and accualy unusefull spell name change... It's hard already to be a mage, I wonder who in blizzard hates so much Mages -and plss dont come with those "you're a master of AoE" cause AoE dmg are Crap (-and only thing they are usefulla t is menaging monster hate), casting time for most spells Humongous! not even mentioning the price in mana...
"oh you need a drink again? Why mages run out of mana so quick? Oh you done only 1k dmg in 4 sec and I did 700 in 2 then 400 in 1... "
I'm not crying or anything, but... It simply make's me wanna kill the person that is responsible fo 2.5k life at 60 lev with casting time of 3 when you accualy cant cast (if not for icebarrier) ,but you need to RUN!
I think the person that was responisble for Mages (or more propably a team that was) class did ****** their job.
Nth personal... but I wonder If any of those people ever played the class they created...
And for all who read read this: yes I do play a Mage, no... I wont change class, why? Because this class requires the most from player -to keep your char alive and advance.
Still... It's unfair...

Wow so you must not know how to play Mage class at all ... personally i have never played a mage .. well except my lvl 60 but that doesnt count i guess .. running out of mana well you got issue that is why god made you a walking vending machine so you dont have to blow a bunch of gold on mana juices .. 2.5k health get some better gear .. my mages has over 3k health not much but enough to effectivly stay alive ... and as for AoE dude i push out alot of damage i am normally sitting pretty in the 4th to 5th spot on a damage meter in MC or whatever other raid i am in depending on how many rogues are sitting there as well ...though it has been awhile since i played my mage i normally play my hunter now
but i will say Blizz did make some bad choices with this patch however there is no way i am gonna complain about it i love the new content Hunters BM and MM spec is sweet now plus i got a new pet outta the deal the Razzashi Adder from ZG is now tameable and has a wicked painful venom spit not to mention the ATI video card fix that has caused me alot of issues though they could have waited at least 2 more weeks to realease it i am still glad it came when it did

After spending ten minutes trying to decipher the tortuous attempts at grammar in your post, I have come to the following conclusion:

If you have a level sixty mage, you must have bought the account. Yesterday.

Most of your arguments are flawed. Running out of mana? When the hell does THAT happen? I have to wait for the priests, druids, and warlocks to finish drinking. You have issues with getting your spells cast? My friend, I get off at least two pyroblasts in each fight, unless whatever it is that I'm fighting dies before I get five Fire Vulnerabilites on it.

I have had two strangers ask me for water. Total.

As for your complaint about damage, that's not really a class-wide issue. That is a frost tree issue. Fire tree does massive amounts of damage, with occasional stuns.

You said you weren't crying. That is a BLATANT lie. Your entire post is basically one long, nonsensical whine.

We get even greater NERF in PvP...reduction in CC time to 12 seconds regardless of the time it should be. I am starting to get annoyed at the way we are treated.

I love my mage, don't have any gripes really... I think if you have gripes it's because you're still trying to work out how to play effectively, strategy and whatnot. But a name change this late in the game seems pretty ridiculous. I mean, we all know what Frost Nova is so wby bother?

you know.. I dont remember seeing Paladins being mentioned.. or Priests.. or Rogues.. so quit your ********** There's three other classes that didn't even get mentioned, and you're complaining about a stupid name change, jeez. I'm a Rogue and Shaman, I 'could' be complaining about the new "Resilience" factor.. but I'm not. I could say learn to play too, but not. I guess the only really to say is.. You can't please everyone. Someone always has to complain about something...

I play a mage and I don't think we're shortchanged. We have one of the best classes in the game, major dps, crowd control, morphs, ports, drinks and food, shield, blink, etc.; it's fun to be a mage. What you are asking for is a super class that will outdo all the others, not a well balanced class like mages are now.

And i dont even want to get started on the other classes uppgrades...
that compared to the mage gets buffed to the skies.

apparently we are not playing the same game...

I have 3 lvl 60s, a rogue, a warrior and a mage.

I have to say that i LOVE playing my mage. I've completly given up on my rogue(only use it to smelt Dark Iron now) and still in the process of gearing up my warrior in ZG. i honestly can't understand your whining about mages.

I'm top3 DPS in MC EVERY time even tho i'm still quite under-geared compared to the other people there.
Also, Icebarrier benefits from +spellDMG which makes it atleast 1100dmg for a new LVL60mage with decent gear.
In PVP i really have no problem except for some classes, but choose your battles when you're in BGs.
really, it's all about how well you play, mage is quite easy to play, but hard to master. think about that
