Hero's Forge Armor Coming Wed. Aug. 15!

EverQuest's Hero's Forge Armor feature is set to debut this Wednesday:

Hero's Forge launches on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. This is an exciting new armor system that allows you to dramatically change the appearance of your visible gear. With a one-time purchase of 1200 Station Cash per character, you will immediately receive a complete set of Hero's Forge armor appearance augmentations. More importantly, you'll unlock the ability to use hundreds of new armor pieces that you can gain through various means as you adventure through Norrath.

Norrath's mightiest heroes will be garbed in armor never before seen in EQ!

In addition to the Hero's Forge set you receive with your initial purchase, there will be three armor themes that can be gained through playing the world of EverQuest: Bloodforged (available as rare drops off level 80+ Rare Mobs), Valiant (dropped from Veil of Alaris Mission Chests), and Noble (available for completing certain Veil of Alaris Mercenary Achievements). In the near future we will add even more sets and different means to acquire Hero's Forge armor, including tradeskills, raids, and through defeating monsters throughout Norrath!

Whether you wear Plate, Cloth, Leather or Chain, Hero's Forge armor has you covered!

The call goes out to all true warriors of spirit to unsheathe your swords and raise your shields, as adventure and the thrill of all-new items falls within your grasp throughout Norrath over the coming weeks!

this is a third-party site. you can send feedback or post in the official forums, but soe seldom if ever checks these sites.

Just as i expected, at the moment the new armor, other than what is bought, can only be gotten by 80+ characters who have VOA. another push for people to buy VOA. I have it, but it is irritating that you have to go fight 80+ monsters to get the stuff. It should drop all over Norrath including lower level zones. If they think this will prompt more people to level up their toons, they are sadly mistaken.

What i really hate is the push to level fast. You miss so much of the game content when the focus is on the end -- level 95-- as opposed to the journey- experiencing the game. Although i have 3 toons over 2 accounts who are 90+, and one who is 81, the rest of my toons are slowed drastically in an effort to actually enjoy the game. I allowed others to influence me and push me to get to 90+, but i refuse to go to 95 before i am ready and i refuse to be influenced any further by those who seem to be in a race against all Norrath to reach 95 at any cost.

do sony read these comments if so there is allways room for improvement they might take note of these messages and change things maybe not now but in the future, some of the armor looks real nice on some races but on others it just dont seem right like the troll. dunno if i get this feature or not,ill treat like the expansions only buy when i can afford them, and sommit for us vets would be nice im 2 months away from my 7th many have longer time played rewards us better some of the veteran rewards our outdated.

love ya all so be nice to each other :)

I see the better/different armor for level 80+, what about something for the casual veteran players? Those of us with long paying, $$(not played), accounts, mid to low level toons, but not having the playtime or groups to get into the high level zones?
Hmm

I would rather we get the option. Account, or by char.

I would pay $40 per account, but I certainly won't buy it for every character. SOE would get more money from me if they simply sold it by account.
Not for me

No stats? Rather expensive for just an appearance ornamentation.

I really expected this to be more. And some of it looks pretty cool from the screenshots they provided. Though I am disappointed that you still have to have the aug. distillers to move augs around, you just don't have to go to a pool.

I'll wait to see it in action before judging.

I only have 2 real complaints:
* The cost (tied to character, not account... don't care what it costs, just tie it to account. Or give option of either.)
* Aug distillers. Send them out with the aug pools. Make them hotswappable with no limitation. I don't need an aug to swap equipped gear, why augs?
